in fact, getting legit runes is not as hard as you think, but the problem is you have to have some illegit ones to start with. Assuming you had a semi-godly hammerdin- enigma, life charms, max res, the works.... and you had 7 friends who were willing to take an hour off d2 and chat with you. Well with this hammerdin of yours, you can rush all the chars in about an hour with some sort of maphack. Just to be safe, lets add an hour because many do not use one. So you rush these guys all to hell, glitch baal, and then you have 7 nm forges, and 7 hell forges. Do this 11 times and you have 77 forges nm and 77 forges hell. There are 11 runes droppable in each i believe, so you should have 7*gul, 7*ist, 7*mal, 7*um, 7*pul, 7*lem, another 7 um, another 7 pul, and another 7 lem. STATISTICALLY. Lets say you take 3 days to complete this just to be safe.... well you have a helluva lot of runes. In the beginning of season 2 i did this, but only 2 at a time, and i cubed up 4*guls to make an ohm for my chaos claw. Well... its how you look at it, and in the first month of ladder, you could cube up quite a lot... i would suggest trading ists for guls since guls are not widely duped or anything.
