wow long story, for what?
Everyone knows fastes way is Andy NM and best odds at Diablo normal.
And about value of a SOJ.
It changes from week to week, first week at HC ladder europe SOJ = storm. Maybe atm Soj=3 storms or more...

All information collected in this guide destined to new players. Read introduction.

How you can explain, that peoples ask the same question in ALL Diablo forums: “How to get SOJâ€? Or “what is the soj?†Or “Where is the best place to find the soj?â€

If you say, that peoples don’t ask this questions, then I will post many their references to you.

The guide isn't bad - for example I didn't know about NM Andy or Norm Diablo.. I just played the game, end of story.. however I may try this if I ever care.

Good guide.. maybe a bit long and some of the math was pointless, but still helpful.

And no, I'm not a noob... I've owned the game since it came out.

Second Edition Changes

Text was reorganized to improve readability. The Guide was renamed to The FAQ to reflect content structure. Questions were grouped by themes.
Grammar and spelling was improved (a bit :) ).
Old version information was deleted (except SP).
A table of MF effectiveness was updated.
New version now include:
- a table of chances to drop a ring;
- a table of chances to drop an unique item;
- a table of chances to drop a soj;
- comparing of several popular Act Boss runs.
Information about item generation was corrected.
Information about The Andariel Bug was corrected.
Edited information about Andariel droppable items.
Edited information about explanation of “the same unique item drops in the same game”.
Information about mathematics was greatly reduced.
Information about Andariel’s chance to drop a soj was replaced with a table of chances to drop a soj by different popular monsters.
Information about equip was edited.

Enjoy!

Normal Diablo or nightmare Andariel might not be the best places to mf for sojs. My reasoning is that when a ring gets rolled to be a unique, and the mlvl/qlvl check occurs, isn't it possible that these bosses roll rings with qlvl higher than soj (dwarf, raven etc.) and are actually dropping failed unique (rare) rings? If this is so, then these bosses shouldn't really have any better odds of dropping a soj than any other boss, and the best monsters/bosses to run would be those with the best chance to drop rings.

No, only the rings with Qlvl equal or lower than the Mlvl are taken into consideration. The higher Qlvl rings are simply ignored.

Personally I don't see where the article said anything besides that Nightmare Andy is the best place for SoJ runs (which is a useful piece of information I didn't know). There's some bad grammar that really makes it awkward to read, but that can be excused to an extent since you're still trying your best - it's much different than somebody skilled in English writing an article with bad grammar simply because he's lazy.

You can find it here: http://www.datascanch.ru/soj.txt
It is second edition and I work on grammar every day, though there are not any volunteers to be Main Editor. May be only Saininhc will help me in future.
