The Official KoL Thread

Hey whomhead, thanks for the PvP advice. I lost my first 2 battles, but after reading your post I am now up 4 wins to 2 losses.

However, when I click on the search for players to PvP, I can only see players with names starting with a or b. There is no button or anything to go to the next page or anything.

Also, this may be a bit cheap, but it was being discussed on the forums. Some PvP players are building their secondary stats super high, so they remain a lower level. For instance, if you are a Sauceror, build up high Muscle, and attack Seal Clubbers and Turtle Tamers because if they are the same level you are, you know you have much higher stats than them.

A bit cheap I admit, and hopefully something they fix later. Use it as you will...

Except Newbies are not going to be walking around in the mall with 10,000 meat in their pocket. I like that theory shade, but I think there is something else going on here. Maybe they are just being funny.

One thing that I thought of was owning your own shop can act as a storage place. If you want to display your "KOL grail" you can do so at the mall. Also if you ever run out of room with you backpack and Closet (don't know if this is possible) you could store stuff in your own shop. Just my .02.

glad i could help! i usually type some random letter in the box when i search cause otherwise you just get the alphabetical list of all people. try typing an r or q or something... th or gh is also good. :D

WARNING: this thread may contain spoilers if you have not passed the baron yet, or if you don't wanna know about the cocoabo familiar.

Just wondering if this might work, however cheesy it looks like. I am going to try this with my Acordion thief. The main purpose is to heal to full HP and MP, and amassing huge quantity of gold losing a very very small number of turns.

1- Keep your Muscle low, but your other atributes high (only your moxie high, if you have that Moxie-based MP item).
2- Level up your Cocoabo to a reasonable level (more on that below).
Cast your buffs to 0 MP.
3- Go to the Orc Chasm with your dictionary.
4- Keep picking fights over there. You will miss every swing, due to your low Muscle, but the monsters will also miss you, because of your high Moxie, while your Cocoabo every turn tries to help you, either healing MP & HP, finding money, avoiding you from being hit or hitting the enemy.

Why the Chasm? Because there you can end the battle instantly by using the dictionary.

Why the Cocoabo? Because his power works during battle, while other familiars who have similar powers work only at the end of battle.

Possible problems:

- A high-level Cocoabo may win alone the fight for you.
- I don't know exactly how fumble works, but if you keep fumbling, you may find yourself beyond the healing powers of your familiar. A possible solution for this is wearing no weapons (= irrisory damage).
- A low Muscle means a low life, so if the enemy hits or you fumble too much, you may have to end your dodging spree earlier than you wish.

Thoughts?

Edit: if you know, PM me with foods and drinks that lower your muscle. The McArches goodies come to mind.

you can get a scrumptious reagent in the Cobb's Knob Laboratory - you have to go through the door at the bottom. you only get it in the lab, not in the other rooms with the weird(er) monsters in them. the hellion cube can be attained in the Deep Fat Friar's Woods. the hellion drops it occasionally.
Also, certain lvl saucerors can simply make 3 reagents a day. My daily routine: make 3 reagents, get 3 hellion cubes in the woods, make 3 broths and sell at ~ 13000 each, buy ramen and vodka for the change... works nicely :yep:

PS, is anyone checking the clan ratings? Still a sash at circa 35000 karma

There's a much easier thing to do, actually. Once you get high-enough levelled, you can go fight the yetis on the top of their mountain for about 350 meat per turn. It might take a little while before you can safely adventure there, but the meat comes extremely quickly once you do.

works for me 200 turns times 3 is 600 yeti runs a day, almost 750k a day
How on this earth do you get 200 turns a day? (Rhetorical Question; I don't really want to know as I don't want the game spoiled in any way, but my 40-60 turns a day (if I drink myself drunk the previous day) seem rather poor compared to this.)

Oh yeah, and I would like an answer to the above questions too (despite me saying that I wanted no spoilers, I contradict myself a lot :cheesy: )

strijdje is overquoting it a bit :P

with a lvl 25 lep and polka, its usually 850-1200 meat per yeti
averages to bout 1k
discos/tamers/pastas can get more
discos have an inherant skill, tamers/pastas can boost their familiars to lvl 30

lets just say i got a little bit lucky when the pickles were 10k a piece ^^

3 pickles, sneaky pete key lime pie, 6 little sump'n thats around 190 turns a day :) and shiv with my disco i get around 1200 each turn i dont know if lvl has something to do with it, but im getting it ^^

Geez, I guess I learn everyday from this game. What is empathy, and what is this noodles tying thing?

Empathy is an effect that boosts your familiar's level by 10 temporarily. The only ways I know of to get it are the Turtle Tamer's Empathy of the Newt (can be cast on anyone) and the Pastamancer's Leash of Linguini (the 'tying-noodles' thing :) )

There may be other ways but I haven't got a Disco Bandit yet... :)

nah! disco bandits are selfish folks. we only have skills for our augmentation. :D

anyways, what does the power on all items do? i just got myself a chrome crossbow(pow=120), currently using an asbestos x-bow(pow=100/+9 moxie), so which is better? at lvl 9, i'm more comfortable with the asbestos x-bow.

Well, equip the chrome crossbow before rollover each day, and I believe it should give you an extra 3 adventures. Not much, but with a clan calendar, clockwork maid and chrome weapon, that is an extra 10 per day, and you get a whole extra day after 4 rollovers

Edit: Oh, and I dont really know which is better overall. I guess if the asbestos one is doing decent enough dmg, you could keep that

i think you misunderstood me crazyC :) . i want to know what the power on each items does. is it used to determined your dmg?, chance to hit? you know the usual d2 related stuff.
