i know that as of now, i would be taking no1's slot, but in the first few days of the west group getting together, we only had like 4, now we habe like 9 or 10 wanting in

only so many JtH's can happen at a time and by christmas, you may find that this groups has grown substantially, if so, i will not want to be greedy
and do both (at least not around the holidays, lol)

If I go with a necro it will be a summoner/curser and if I go with pally it will be an avenger whichever seems better for the party.

Andy, all trades are carried out in the general channels (like USA-1) as opposed to trade channels, that's why they are always empty.

There isn't really a need for all you guys to play on Asia, I only suggested it because we have no spambots and annoyances like that, and no one will be tempted to twink in any gear. Having said that if you guys do want to play on a clean server it would be best to play on Asia2 or Asia3 because I play on Asia1 and we should all be in the same boat. Of course if we play on Asia I can't use the char name Sokar_Rostau (he's my lvl 78 skellimancer).

As for naming, personally I would prefer to see interesting names rather than a "clan tag".

Wathombe are you sure it's 1700-1900 AEST? I think it's more likely a 15hr difference than a 5hr one. Either way I think I can manage it most days.
 
Huge Huge question i was thinking about last night, Brand (100% Chance to Cast Level 18 Bone Spear on Striking), and synergy bonuses work (so marrowwalks would be huge dmg increase), My question is.... other chance to cast spells work with multi arrow, would that bonespear?!!! If so OMG IMBA IMBA IMBA can you imagine 1 multi arrow shot, 50+ bonespears shooting??!!!? who cares if with marrowwalks its still only like 500 or 1000 dmg, if your close to a ground the spears will hit like 10+ enemies each adding like 20k magic dmg to your attack to an area!, i mean if this is the case i got my new character!!! If i had a jah on hardcore ladder i would (i got gul mal Lo) but cacn anyone try and see if brand's spear works with multi plz :-) seems like new imbalance to finally make bowazons playable again :-)

Be-Were: This is probably more appropriate in the other thread, but if the weapon is missile-only and has CTC properties there's no reason to think it won't work with an amazon skill. Also, there are teeth/bone spirit charged items that would raise the synergy bonus, but I'm unsure if they come on non-weapon/non-boot items/non-shield.

Wathombe: Is this starting tonight or waiting until tomorrow? Only an hour from now so I need to know.
 
Be-Were: multi only triggers CTC stuff on the middle 4 (or 2?) arrows, so its not so good. Strafte works fine though, and marrow's will synergise it.

Back on topic: I think we decided on Friday night as the starting date, at least for the west group.
 
Evening, all.

Early night tonight, so I'll try to be brief.

We will be starting the first group tomorrow night, Friday, December 17, at around 10:00 PM PST. That translates to 1:00 AM EST (technically Saturday morning) and 1700 AEST Saturday afternoon (the time difference b/t October and March is technically 19 hours, Sokar).

The first group will be playing on USWest, unless anyone has any strenuous objections. I like the idea of a clean server for everyone, but I think it's more useful to be on a server where most of us at least have an acct. Otherwise, I fear that some of our group might just be hanging out on West playing and waiting to see the rest of us pop up on the friends list.

Let's meet in channel "rustjth" to get organized.

We still have ten people wanting to play in the first group, so I suppose we'll just see who shows up and sort out the last few builds then. (Just my luck, I'll be the one who's late and get left out.)

There are 7 players fairly committed to one build:
  • wathombe: bow enchantress
  • alphaomega4: javazon
  • dnmorton: singer barb
  • freakinrican: medic
  • tlaloc24: MA assassin
  • Ax2Grind: summoning druid
  • Sokar: necro
...and 3 players who are more or less open:
  • Cheetah: summon/curse necro or avenger
  • Be-Were: anything
  • 916_Andy: anything

We'll sort it out in channels tomorrow night.

Andy: Check the first post in the thread. The idea is that we will only progress in levels/quests/waypoints as a group of 5 or more, but that we can mf in groups of 4 or less as long as none of us level/quest/waypoint past the group. I'll track progress on the scrawny webpage when I get it up.

dnmorton where did you find the info on the multi arrow, ( i searched a while and couldnt find it) but im still thinking that brand might be overpowered (did the math for marrowwalk synergy, 590-630 dmg bonespear will be what is cast 100% of the time)... strafe minimum is 4 arrows, (if its just 1 target, all 4 at him) so thats an extra 2200 magic dmg which i think is worth it but ill check it out later in game :-)

Well, as much as I would like to join you guys tomorrow, my wife just got a new job (woo hoo more coinage) and we are going to celebrate tomorrow. I guess that what I can do is wait for another group to start up, if there is more interest in it.

I will try to get on here and check after dinner (which will definitely be done before 11pm.) If for some reason there aren't 8 slots taken up by then, perhaps I will be able to join up. :wink2:

See now, that's why I failed mathematics.

EDIT: You know the more I think about it the more I want to try it. If someone else wants to be a necro, I want to try my Palazon out in this environment, all the way through. My last two had to do most areas solo, but had access to better gear after Normal. The only thing that I would really want should we find it is the ingredients for a good Passion weapon. She makes a very good decoy too :) .

Hey, congratulations on your wife's new job! :clap: That's great, and you guys should totally celebrate.

OTOH, that really sucks that you might miss out on the group, and we would be much poorer without you. Even if you can't check in after dinner (wouldn't want to get in the way of, ahem, other celebrations), check back for a report in the morning. Maybe you can start your character anyway, and some of us can catch you up to the rest of us just in case all eight players don't continue to show up. We'll see how it plays.

I'll do my best to be there tonight, but the Suns v Sonics is on tonight and it's a big game. Hopefully Suns will blow them out and I won't have to watch it till the final whistle blows.

I just heard from Corporeal Ghost. He will be on Holiday until 1/3. But can join us after that.

I won't be about to make it in an hour and a half unless i can come up with a good name. (I hate going with my usual tag with no originally (AO_JavaZon) (how lame))
 
Just got home from work. My west account is, oddly enough, *dnmorton. The char's name is EchoingRuin.
