The most stupid thing you have done in d2

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

- I lost 97 HRs in a stupid scam. Lesson learned: never trust ANY bnet player.
I'm curious about this... How exactly does one lose 97 HRs in one single scam? Was it some mule trade thingy, betraying 'friend' or just an item worth that much that someone picked up? :scratchchin:

Edit: Or account scam?

Or maybe he used some hack/bot and Blizzard banned his account and "scammed" him of 97 Hrs

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

Ive wasted an imbue quest on a charsi leg thinking that it will become a bugged leg and make me invisible. Of course nothing happened and I lost an imbue quest :scratchchin: ( at the time this scam was running wild on BNET)

I've thought I'd be very smart and buy 100 life armors (in 1.10) and sell them for insane amounts! Ultimately I got one with 100 life!! and after perming my game for 5minutes(waited 10mins in fact) muled it and LARZUKED IT!!

OMFG!@!# 1socket :( Lesson: Magical items will only get one socket :coffee:

This ladder while rolling spirits for 35 FCR i socked my already unsocked spirit with a HEL rune and had to re-hel it to remove that HEL!

Actually, magic items can have 2 sockets too, but it's random. But it's still better to buy ones that have 4 socket prefix though.

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

Found a coa in a baal game then traded it for a perf ber ber coa and a spirit thinkin the guy was just a noob then let them both poof

Went into a brg bramble game with bramble mitts

Tried to make spirit on nl then thought the game glitched or somthin when it didn't work

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

i needed zaka and i offred soj
guy join and ask if i need unid zaka, sure i said,he give me "unid zaka"
and i walk to cain, and then i see dragonscale... >_>

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

Ouch, you got to watch for stuff like that when dealing with anyone in the trade channels. It's pretty tricky, though, unless you're careful, it might be easy to confuse the two unidentified. Especially since dragonscale is a unique zakarum shield.

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

I DID IT!
I socketed a 3os MP with my IST!!!!!!
I clicked on Ist to select it, then press clear ESC but I guess I clicked too quick...:(

LOL so sad, yet I can't stop laughing at myself!

So should I put 2 Ptopaz for 73mf armor? :)

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

nah, a 4 topaz 4 socket armor would be better. I think you'll need to lose another hel and a scroll of tp

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

Archon plate 15ED "Jah Ist Ber" last season

*sigh* not forgotten yet.

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

In the early days of 1.10 ladder (I was still a relatively new player at the time), I got scammed during an IG trade. There was a hack at the time that made a picture in the trade window, so I asked the guy to move his enigma around a bit (which would make the hack useless). I checked, it was still an enigma. Traded for my best items (had saved up for this a while), and got myself a magic dusk shroud. The guy had switched it after I checked the last time. I was so hyped about getting the enigma that I didn't notice :\

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

i've done a lot of dumb things when i was younger ("HEY DROP ALL YOUR ITEMS THEN PRESS ALT F4"), but recently i made a hoto without checking the runeword first. i now have a godly vex ko pul thul flail.

Man, you just made me feel a little less stupider and more like the crowd XD Oooh the countless times I've fallen for that kind of junk when I was younger... good thing I was just a noob back then and had no gear :hammerhead:

Alt-F4....

LOL I remember that. Couldn't stop laughing at myself when I did it :)

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

Well, my dumbest (and easily most expensive) D2 blunder ever occurred this ladder season (#5). I was selling off some junk found on a MF run to Akara in Act 1, when a lag spike hit. However, I didn't notice the lag for a bit (I am quite mindless when selling items to vendors...well, I was then, but I'm certainly not anymore) and kept on selling. Suddenly, the lag ended, and a bunch of junk in my inventory disappeared. Well, that was just as expected...but I soon noticed that my 'Call to Arms' crystal sword on weapon switch was missing.

So, somehow, with the mysterious voodoo of time, cursor position, and mouse clicks that occurs during a bad lag spike, I had hit the swap weapon button (which I have assigned to the mouse scroll wheel), picked up the CtA CS, and dropped it onto Akara's inventory.

No problem...I'll just buy it back, I thought. But, to my dismay, this was one of those times when her weapons inventory tabs were already completely full. So. Akara is on my list now. :xxx:

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

I haven't done anything too too bad.....

But I made the common mistake once, of trying to make a Polearm runeword into a Spear.

And one time I paid a decent amount on the trade forum for this nice eth Superior Armor, that for some reason no one else was bidding on. My plan was to try ebugging it in the cube for a nice merc armor.... it was much later that I realized you can't roll Superior items :( No wonder no one else bid on it!! It's still on a mule to this day.

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

I played online believe it or not, crazy I know but yeah. That would have to be the utmost stupid thing one can do imo.

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

As a noob I put P topazes in an ali baba.
The really sad thing is I put 2 in before I caught on.

Re: The most stupid thing you have done in d2

Ah yes. I recall putting a pair of P. topazes (yes, two) into an Ali Baba at the start of this ladder season. (Who DOESN'T need more MF a week or two into a ladder?) I searched in vain for the new MF mod on the newly socketed Ali...and was puzzled by the curious "Adds 2-80 Lightning Damage". "Hmmm, that's odd. This item isn't supposed to have lightning damage...wait...Ohhh..." :banghead:
