Oy, I go away for a day and look at what my thread deteriorates into... <grins>
I guess I'll just dump the rest of my points into vengeance then, PIs are really my only problem... although not much of a problem, I just have to tank them as my rogue whittles them down with the upped WWS I gave her...
And before any of you mention the Amp curse, I'm relying heavily on the life tap from my exile shield.
To give everyone an idea of just *how* long I ran the pit, I started in the mid 70's, found a vortex shield with four sockets and +43 resists, and enough runes to make (or cube up to) Exile, and COH. Unfortunately, the WF is not with me at all, so I never found any uber-equipment. I mean jeez, I just found my first HOZ ever the other day. What can I say, I had a good map. And I've got a great one for Andy right now.
corax: sound like some awesome conversions! I've got a chaplain that I made using Muegan Ra, a raptor jumppack, and a homemade crozius, as well as a duel-hammer wielding chapter master based off the emperor's champion fig with swooping hawk wings. I made up my own chapter, the "Verdant Malus", so hammers everywhere. Unfortunately, the green paint scheme gets them confused for Dark Angels and Salamanders all the time. Salamanders I can see, but I don't even have any guys in dresses in my army

finding the runes for exile and CoH and you have the nerve to say the WF isnt with you *administers a beating unto MM*
my digital camera suxx0rs so i couldnt get a non-fuzzy shot of my conversions. oh well. i had an awesome plan for the coolest dreadnaught ever, but the money was just way out of reach

You found a Ber, Vex, Ohm, Ist x 2 and change? That is some serious rune finding of likes I've never seen!
Anyway, you should probably farm Hell Memph as the payoff is much better. (Until you become more item rich than Act V SU's and Baal are the only ways to get the tc 87's and other elite uniques you want.)

You say that you got all those runes in the amount of time it takes to run the pit from mid 70's to 91? That is not a very long time at all, yet you managed to be able to make Chains of Honour AND Exile?

Item finding is different, you can believe finding Mangs and CB in one day...as item finding is a lot different to rune finding.
Come on, bud, you know yourself about runes, how often do Ohm's and Ber's turn up? Certainly not in the couple of hours it takes in The Pit to move from mid 70's to lvl 90.
I agree that we should be very wary of this claim. Running the Pits will generate no more runes than running virtually anywhere in Hell. So your rune finds should be reasonably close to those of ANY character. And *cough* mine don't do quite as well as what you have claimed here. But then I do play the game without mods...Milamber said:
