Of the others, Bonemancer probably deserves rank 2 --- he was in fact my most successful char before the Skelemancer, and I thought he was pretty good, but that was before I built the SkelemancerSo maybe I would even put the Bonemancer on rank 3 and leave rank 2 empty, just to emphasize my opinions a bit.
I do not PK, so no experience there. And I rate builds by how well they can solo everything in hell AND the kind of gear they need (i.e. build needs tons of uber expensive stuff too work -> it sucks).
lol how can you say skelemancer is good... i made a fishymancer, and he has +11 to all skills and +14 to summoning skills(so lvl 34 skellies), and he blows *** imo. sure, he can solo hell but it takes forever...
the only thing i got out of him was his forge which dropped me a gul
For me:
Gold = Pure Hammerdin (15K hammers) -- My ex-hammerdin that did 13K hammers took down dclone solo even without PMH in less than 2 minutes.
Silver = Frozen Orb / Fireball / Meteor Sorc *hybrid* (600+ FO / 10K FB / 20K Meteor -- except FI and CI its a very quick and devastating build, even for hell rushes
Bronze = Pure Wind Druid (6K Tornado, 3K Hurricane) -- Probably second only to the Hammerdin in matters of killing speed.
If there were no CIs, LIs, FIs, I will choose three pure elemental sorc builds:
Gold = Pure Fire Sorc (Fireball / Meteor)
Silver = Pure Cold Sorc (Frozen Orb / Blizzard)
Bronze = Pure Lightning Sorc (Chain Lightning / Thunderstorm)

i dont want to kill the thread by going too far off topic, but i built a bone necro, and i wasnt that impressed with him. with 2 sojs, maras, a +2all circlet, enigma, white, and homunculus, and morrowalk bug, im still only doing about 3800 with spear. maybe i need to recheck him, but i feel like i did something wrong with mine if all you guys are praising how great they are.
about the only think i could improve in +points would be a spider for the nightsmoke im curently wearing,but it wouldnt amke a night/day diff for me i dont think.
however, i do also have a summoning necro (full trang) and he does kill quite quickly. i wish there was a good way to determine his dmg potential with all the skelies and masteries and summon resists, etc.

Cuttie cooker builds aren't mentioned in this "fav chars" by me...
Bowazon, javazon, very common... meteor sorc is fun I suppose but many fire immunes in hell difficulty.
1st place tanker) Barb with BO
2nd place tanker) Paladin with holy shield.... can use either fanatic zealot or hammerdin here (Hammerdins are now a little too common if you ask me).
Overall favorites: Necro Zookeeper, Bone Necro
1st place MFer) Sorc with teleport
2nd place MFer) Barb with find item (Eventually Enigma!)
These is my personal list, many viable builds out there that are good, I just barely touched it.... diversity and integrity :/

Personally I don't understand why all you people say hammerdin are overpowered, sure they do a lot of damage, but they have to stand still to damage my sorc :lol: I have yet to see a hammerdin slay my sorc, she owns them all with a few orbs.
The only thing I'm scared of are sudden maxed attacks like guided arrows, charge, foh, dragon flight, blizzard (you get the picture)

For PvM, I think I'll take my ideal titan barb.
A nice botd, arreats, ark's valor, mara's, war trav's, ik gloves, arach's or string , +20 dex raven or two.
Some +10 max/ +xx ar/ +35~ life grands with max/ar/life below them and a +20 stat +20 res anni.
Max your mastery, ww, bo, whatever else you feel you want.
A very sexy and powerful barb.
