Woo hoo, it's a tough world in there classic 
Syberian has just turned 24 and yes, as Stinger says (have just read it) this is not a level for cs 
I got owned by 3 (three!) oblivion knights ! Whatever, back to a3 BTW, if anyone wants to drop/sell a 3-sock tower shield, don't, give it to me instead

i tend to stockpile 3 sock shields and I will tell you that my luck as well as most others has been flat out terrible at finding the 3 sock Tower so far. Gothic is the next best and I have only found one of those.
It is dead simple to get a 3 socket Large or a 2 socket Bone in Act 2 by shopping and usually u can find 3 chipped diamonds, or say rubies and topaz and make a helpfull sheild.
I have seen it countless times where the lvl say 24-28 is doing CS runs, maybe even doing an excellent job, but I dont care how good your resists are if you are lvl 24 or so and something happens wrong on one of those seals like someone popin it on you, or a lag spike you can be history in a blink of an eye. Diablo can also show you real fast how well prepared you are!!!
Infector of Souls and his boys will flat out chew up and spit out untwinked low lvl guys, and evne twinked if low enuff. Desies and his boys can also even though frankly they are weaker in 1.10 wiht 8-10 fanta guys that are fast hit you and no BO and like 300-500 life it dont take long to die and i didnt count lag which is all around Asia.
it just pays well to learn and use the areas of the game for your lvl and take the "good" exp over the "optimum" exp while you have poor gear. Later you can push it more but hell if you have to remake all the time loosing all the stuff you aquire you cant get any decent item base so just be patient.
Hehe, actually I'm using a rare spiked shield with 10% increased blocking, 27 fire res and 19 light res that some, erm, thoughtless (?) guy sold (?!) to ormus. I predict it will go a long waySTINGER said:

Note: from lvl 24 to lvl 25, it took me 11 council runs 1ppl.

My poor TEB-Milla was killed in cows at lvl19. I even had the juv gurgle sound playing, but still died. But hey, that's what lag and a hazardouz environment will do to ya!
Luckily some guy dumped a hugh load of nice gear on me and some others just before Millas death. Good thing I muled that Rattlecage and sigons.

Cows do you no good until lvl 20, and I mean absolutely no good. i try to not cow at low lvls, maybe 25+ but if I can run flayer I do that instead, or river.
Avenger is a mighty tuff build in Classic as there are few good 1 hand weapons, and none are very fast and with Vengance relying on damage of weapon its reather tuff. Now you will find a friend in every game that is for sure and things will die well due to you but not much more than that unless you get a good weapon.
Back to cows, if you are in that 500 ping area just steer clear of the steers unless you can take a lot of hits as those guys teleport in Asia and have range 30 Poles!!! Not sure why they gt teleporting cows in Asia but it is challenging!
Small list of solid builds:
Java
Hammerdin
Shocker
Holy Freeze (need friends but he will find many)
FoH (not a big hell Killer but will have friends and can smoke PKers)
Hammers with strange arura!!! holy Freeze, Defiance..etc solo hammers will kill wiht no arura and kill well in NM if you put stats in properly so these builds do work, and beleive me there are hammerdins everywhere you will find Conc from one of them.
Necro Skelles/Bone really must have bone since you dont have a merc
Necro Boney/confuse fun build and lots of safety with Armor, but tuff to start
Barb Conc, Zerk, WW CB is of course needed and some luck with imbues or finding a weapon.
Singer/BO Merc Not easy to find two shards but it can be done
Sorcs of all ilks
I will give ya a little info on my 75 Blizz sorcy. I am working on a teleport monster to tele CS center and have "some damage of note" for 8 player, and enuff damage to solo Hell Meph. So far I am impressed so here it is.
Blizz Maxed
Mastery 18 +1 skill so 17 invested
Telek 18 ditto
ES 45% may add
3 in Glacial
3 in Blast so 6 total Synergies
Damage is just under 1k like 950
Sitting on 6 skill points, and havent done Izzy.........not sure what to do with rest as I am contemplating many avenues but i will let you know.
I kill in 5-6 player and kill well with Convic!!! I can solo Meph Hell with 2-3 players pretty easy, remember static is like 1.09 4 player there.

After passing 5 tower shields that were 1 and 2 sockets, I managed to find 3 socket tower shield. However, its not the shield I plan on using. I want me a gothic. Oh yeah, thanks to Relativity for getting me into nightmare.

Dunno if I'll be on tonight folks, I'm dead tired. I severely over estimated my ability to lift weights....My arms seem to be falling.
I would like to take part in this ... i have an account and ****.. ive been playing d2 for a while.. i played before expansion was out too.. had a 84 sorc (noobed out 
).. i play at a net cafe right now.. but im about to buy diablo again (computer broke down, agve it to a friend, and moved lol..).. ill be getting it next week.. and im ready to start.. i think im gonna make a bowazon only becuase i enjoy sitting back and shooting form FAR SAFE distances ;D... if anyone could give me tips on a good build for a bowazon OR good javazon, i would gladly take them into consideration.. thanks.. my us-west acc is Blindshadow and my asia account should be Blindshadow too.. aim sn is dontsh0otimwh1te.. anyone with help im me plz

Unfortunately in Classic the Bowazon was raather nerfed already in 1.09 and in 1.10 it is worse as a good damage bow is just hard to get and even a 200% Gothic leaves some to be desiered in 1.10.
Now a Mageazon will work but needs a lot of pot drinking and mana items
I suggest the java as he skills are just better suited and since you can use a shiled it is much better for living as you can get resists easier and of course some block. Maybe try a bowa after you find a bow.

Well ive started my char (Violent Knight). He WAS going to be a covic+zeal variant with an elemental weapon but see... i wasnt aware of everything in classic(stoopid me thought there was runewords) :drool: Anyway maybe someone can make a post on their spare time of what is different in classic?
So far ive learned that there are only normal uniques/sets, no runes/runewords/rares are needed for upper lvl play(mele at least), no socketed armour(unless you have a soj)... everything else i forgot. Anyway its proving to be fun and the ppl are more party oriented when you get a game going. I still havent decided how im gunna build i just want something unique... well see.

Anyways, guys, after being in a nm cow game, I don't think I can actually quest at the moment. Watching my exp bar shoot up was great, and so far I've onlybrought myself to do 1 quest. Not to mention that until I find or trade for a gothic shield/and or a mahimoak, my resists are in the gutter.

So..uh, are the cast speed on chain lightning determined by FCR or ias in classic?
I would assume it is FCr related with CL but you probably should test it.
IM is a quick death at any lvl of difficulty. If you look up the skill itslef under Necros then at a very low lvl you will get around 200% return and it just goes up. I have no idea nor do I know how to find out what lvl of IM they have but I do know that when I play a Barb I lvl to 30+ in the river and dont go In CS until I get 1 point Zerk.

Hell yeah, I'll be over there tomorrow morning. No more of this crap expansion on USWest hardcore ladder.
Finally, something that sounds fun.
I can only play mornings, from 8:00 - 3:00 PST, however.
Are we going to try to boost a char up to the top of the ladder together (i.e. have one barb or something that everyone levels)? Or is it just like a group effort where we just help each other out?
