Hey nightshade. Not rly paranio so much as just covering my bases. Its rly silly how many ppl are like " Bird why won't you xp /w me?" ect. ect. just wanted to make that clear up front so I don't have ANOTHER person crying at me tt. Anyway nice to have a resident pker around........I was starting to worry that my eventual bvb dueler wouldn't have anyone to fight!!

By the way this thing got about 30 more responses than I figured it would get was planning on like maybe 3 ppl to post here 2 to show up and then 1 to die the first day and give up......so Um wow I'm suprised at how many players where really seaking a new kind of challenge. If this thread keeps getting higher may need to do like the misfits do and just have a running thread

Hey, I just wanted to say how much fun it was tonight leveling from scratch in Asia. My first char, a tesladin, died at lvl 20 after learning how bad 0 fire resistance hurts when surrounded by venom lords in the steppes. Luckily, my second shot at glory has been going much better. I now have a lvl 23 lf/cs zon who managed to get 2 cathan's rings and cathan's armor (thanks for the help guys). Its so much fun playing with n00b items and feeling 1337.

I'm probably going to try to play a bunch (and as a college student who doesn't enjoy going to most of his classes, I can play more often then healthy), so i'm sure i'll be seeing you all again on a regular basis. Good luck to all :)

haven't been able to get on much (family in town this weekend) and busy as usual. The baba is up to 12 and still in A1. Any thoughts on viable builds (is ww about it) for babas in classic (first time messing around in here). Was thinking about a iron or Frenzy for fun, but began to question the logic.

Any input would be much appreciated.

been a real pleasure entering games without have ing to spend tom much time looking over my shoulder (was that a shade or shadow passing by the sun).

My first attempt at an HC character ever met his demise on a stair well in the arcane sanctuary... do to the little known.. but always seen Lag Monster. :) haha.. though he was just a level 16... my heart sank when I saw the... you've died screen. Haha.. I'm hooked

Just to say that this small community of players is one of the niftiest I've been a part of in a long time... I figure I'll be dying alot more as I figure out how to play the HC lifestyle. Thanks for the fun times... and I'll see ya'll around... add me to your friends list (*finges)

I was hooked to when I started HC to. My most memorable moment was in classic when I sucked I was like lvl 33 in nm a4 doing hell forge with some 45 or something zon. Hephasto was almost dead and the zons valks were getting owned. I decided to try zealing him. SMACK dead. It was before school so I was kicking my self all though school about how we coulda beaten it if I had used thorns :/

heheheh....My first HC char marked the end of the SC age for me....That was three years ago :)

No worries. As soon as I find sufficient gear I'll be loading up on the dueling scene, even with the current ping (I feel bad killing people who are really lagging...kinda)



Correct me if I'm wrong, but traditional BvB set ups look like this :

Rare what ever wepon (swords are a secondary choice iirc. Requiring some very nice gear) probably a lance or Martel

Sigons gaunts + Helm : AR. (or sheild if one handed)

Gob toes/Hsaru's (cb/ar)
Hsaru's belt/blade buckle (fhr + statpoints)

Angelics (duh)

700+ ornate, ideally with 30% lower req's

Thank god no charms are lost, maybe I can get back into the spirit.




My stages when on a new realm go like this :

1)Barb. Primary finder of anything. He'll just kind of suck it up and be multi purpose

2)Sorc Purely for Mfing bosses and Poweracting one's self. Must. get. Khalims.

3) Dueler.

4) Remake Barb. Incase the enivatable happens that they both die

1.09 setup was as follows:
godly rare weapon (at least 150 ED 20 max)
about 900 def ornate with stats and life
godly rare rings with (9 min, 6 ll and 15 str best)
same amu (+2 dual stats preferably with ml or dtm)
hsarus combo
sigons combo (shield + helm if 1h, gloves + helm if 2h)
nice rare gloves with ll, 100 def and stats if 1h
str builds
1.10 setup totally different, looks like most using:
swordback shield
twitch for block with that shield
angelics jewellery
goblin boots
sigons combo
nice rare belt
some rare weapon, some go even with gnasher
life builds

So 1.09 legit bvb was for the richest, I never made one not able to find appropriate stuff (like play with what I find), so I switched to bva etc (was fun, especially a necro project, built 5 pvp necs and finally figured what will be pwnage:
shard
3 ps mask
blinkbats
death sash if there were cold dmg, otherwise lenymo
soj + rare fcr mana ring
civerbs ammy (!)
magefists
nice rare boneshield with block, fhr and dtm
30 frw + mana boots
maxed LR, IM, BS, BA and rest into BW
This setup I used vs amas and necs, had 800 mana, 75 fcr, good fhr, frw and insane mana regen (best have nice repl too)- used LR +BS and then BP. For barbs switched to umes, iratha combo, +2 rare ammy, 2 sojs, twitch, used IM + BW/LR+BS. For sorcs I used 3 pd tower, full iratha, sojs and umes (BW/LR+BS). Was fun because no classic ama ever thought of being killed by a necro - that was 1.09 :)
 
Why LR + BS?
Last I checked LR only lowers elemental resists...thought decrep was sort of the standard curse for 1.09 PvP necros (except for the ones using PN).
 
LR increased spirit dmg by 60% or so...
In 1.10 doesnt affect it AFAIK
As to decrep, I though about using it, but it has too small radius and 1.09 ama only had to lock you to kill, so getting her onscreen was impossible
Unlike decrep, LR has huge radius (2-3 screens) and nice duration (not 15 sec as maxed decrep)
In 1.05 (?) decrep also had big radius that gave decisive advantage to the nec

Your blocking is independant of stat points. It's listed

Your WW speed is always blindingly fast. a lance on a stationary target, even without ias, will generally land 9 or so hits

edit : psn builds...how disgusting for a barb.

I may be playing there from time to time (I'm not bored with EuHCL expansion yet), just started a paladin named Syberian. Hopefully he'll live to see NM at least ;) Or am I being too optimistic ? ;) Ping is 450 on average...

Unholy shock died MFing in the Chaos sanc.

Lagged after hitting the seal to the Balrog boss guy and came back with him and his buddies standing around my smoking corpse.

I gotta say this. Maybe its just because there arent all the charms and runes and stuff but man, the drops seem really stingy over there that was about my 8th or 9th run of meph/diablo and i hadnt found a sinle unique or set item worth keeping (only 3x isenheart's case!)

wasn't running with nay mf to speak of but still...

I'm thinknig my next try might be a hammerdin or a sorc of some sort. getting to level 24 was brutal without good equipment and runnnig with level 1 holy freeze.

try mfing rady... in my sample size of 1 run, he dropped me the uberest of leet items, the nagelring :D

ahhh the joys of being poor... :lol:

edit: if it wasn't for the fact that i was pretty sure rady couldn't drop one in norm, i was SURE it was gonna be a soj, for the simple fact that i could never ever find one in lod east where i could really use them, as opposed to untwinked where i would never expect one...

My axe baba is almost 22 now. SOOOO much easier now that I got a nice fast attack speed 1H wep than that normal speed 2 handed one...

To the classic baba people:will I be able to kill in hell with base dex?

And as for the MF try mephey. I got a twitch and some other nice drops from him in 1.09 with a lvl 23 or something nova sorcey.
 
low dex doesnt prevent from killing
For example, 1 angelic ring gives at lvl 60 same AR (720) as 180 (?) dex
I think dex is pure waste for a baba - use any mace and pump vita (battle hammer is best choice)
