can this char do keyruns too?
if he do, what equip you suggest? //sry if that was here, im still reading those 20pages :)

I've tried doing keyruns with this char, but it takes a long time. i think u need a nigma do make it keyrun also.

Very fast/effective nihlathak runner. I can't be bothered running summoner/countess personally...and yes I imagine you need enigma or a sorc for the other two.

in which order you invest?
i go zeal-fana-shield-sac, but how you invest? :)
and can you tell me about how many dex need this pala to max block (on level you are) with sanctu and zaka?

I pump sacrifice ,when zeal becomes available I invest a few points in it,use it but still pump sacrifice. When holy shield becomes available i put one point. First i max fana/sacrifice,then zeal and then holy shield. 1pt in defiance or max in the end.

Hi again King,

How do you get your key's. your comment below has me puzzled.

I really like this guide, my pally is using less than ideal gear and still survives surrounded by baddies. I think I have like 30% life leech in total, so if he takes any damage he immediately gets it back.

My stats are making me suspicious, though. I only have 118 str/80 dex at base, but with everything I get from items I have way more strength than I need for my gear, and 75% block even without Holy Shield on. Did I invest too much?

Not really,118 is ok as number. Perhaps later you can easily equip heavy items like coa or steelrend or whatnot. And strength means enchanced damage as well. Once again 118 isn't bad for a melee build.

First I would like to say this is one of the best guides out there! Thanks!

Second I have a shield dilemma at the moment I’m using a gilded spirit with 45 resist all 183 def, I have the runes to make a sanctuary and I’m working a deal to get a 3os 27resist royal shield w 207 def but is it really worth it? Should I just keep working toward saving enough for a HOZ or exile?

Weapon: Grief
Armor: Fort
Helm: Guil Face
Boots: working on gore
Gloves: working on dracs
Belt: T-gods
Rings: Dwarf, Ravenfrost
Ammy: Highlords

I had success using a high resist Elite shield (Sacred Rondache) socketted with 4 P-Diamonds until I could gather the runes to make exile. I used then and still use the spirit just to pre-buff my holy shield.

So a friend and I are planning on running uber Trist. Previously, he had been using a smiter/zealer (based on your guide), and I was tanking whatever he wasn't on with a javazon. Since then, I have built a decent hammerdin. The runs will be easier with this char (easier killing of minions, teleport, more damage, etc.) But I was curioius...if I were to have a low-strength Exile (already in my possession) and a weapon like Heaven's Light on switch, could I be effective in these dual runs? I'd like to be able to help take down the ubers themselves. My gear would otherwise be standard hammerdin gear, with auras (obviously) shared betweent he two of us, so I needn't worry about Fanat. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Given that you will receive his fanaticism,a shael shael heaven's light on switch (together with an elite type of shield) is all you need really. 33% cb is enough with fast smite (6 fpa with your friends fana), and for your purpose (helping your friend's zealot/smiter) is more than enough. If one of you has life tap source then this will be enough. But anyway, If you can get nice resists from gear/charms then use that exile, why not.

Sure, last wish is nice option for weapon. You can actually fool around with the rest of your gear ,because LW will cover your crushing blow and life tap needs.

About gear!!

Gloves: Vamps
Sheild: Exile
Armor: Coh
Weapon: Grief
Amulet: Metalgrid
Rings: Raven Frosts
Helm: Not sure
Boots not sure

would them items be able to do uber runs alone???

This setup lacks crushing blow. Use gore rider boots and guil face helm to get a nice 50%. And get as many lightning/cold/fire resists you can from the belt and charms. Other than these you are ready to go.

Thanks kingdryland, very nice guide and I had a lot of fun building one myself. His gear is:

Guile's face
Archon fort 27 resist
Grief pb
Targe Sanctuary 93 resist
Dracul's
Gores
Credendum
Ravenfrost
Mana leech/10 resist all ring
24 resist all ammy, metalgrid to come

But I don't understand how to stack resists to 270 (70 + 75 + 125 for meph's conviction). The perfect resist gear for the damage dealer (35 metalgrid + 30 fort + 115 sanct + 15 credendum + 20 anni + ~20 resists ring) has 235 resist all, but a realistic build is going to be far short of that. Would you suggest using salvation against meph or try to load up on resist sc's?

Also, could you explain how to calculate the smite damage, for example
Grief (+370 dmg,an average one) 4978-5008 smite damage
with grief/fortitude?

Thanks again for a great guide

Thx for your kind words.

Min Smite Damage = (Shield Min Damage + (Damage +x) + (Holy Shield Min Damage)) * (1 + (Strength + (+x% Enhanced Damage) / 100)))
Max Smite Damage = (Shield Max Damage + (Damage +x) + (Holy Shield Max Damage)) * (1 + (Strength + (+x% Enhanced Damage) / 100)))

That's the smite formula, taken from the calculations sticky thread of this forum, (posted by RTB for the record). The enhanced damage factor is purely outside the weapon, and the damage bonus from fortitude falls in that category.
If you are too bored to run the calculations, you can search for a very handy smite damage calculator program that is available online.

As for resists, I choose to use a decent number of single resist small charms coupled by a pair of all res grand charms. Running salvation vs mephi is perfectly viable too, as AnimeCraze argues (and I agree).

And by the way, your gear setup is very similar to what I use most of times.

235 + 60 prebuff = 285. Also, I heard from some members in the forum they they suggest slapping on T-gods and wisp, the forget about resists.
