Pyro, Amn is rlvl 25, so even if you did get lucky and find the runes (Amn doesn't drop from Countess so there's no reliable way), it wouldn't be useable. I don't know how terrible your cth is against Baal at level 21 with no Dex points, but it's not like you're doing much during the fight except laying traps anyway, so it would be worth a shot if you had it I guess.
 
He made Leaf runeword for +3 skills to his fire traps, pretty sure that helps loads more than a little faster traps laying speed.
 
I could see trying Steel if the runes happen to drop. I don't think it's significant enough to do extra countess runs for, but if I get the chance I'll try making it and see what happens. I'm guessing the Open Wounds won't really make a difference against bosses, otherwise that would be sweet.

Anyway, I'm going to be starting in a couple minutes, see if I can get below 2 hours.

is it all /p1? Would it be worth going /p2 or /p3 once your dmg gets high enough and you're laying traps as you run past things? (like mid-jungle...?) and return to /p1 before all the tougher areas
 
Would be worth it to change players setting, yes, but it's against the rules for a run where p1 or p8 is the category. Being sick, I've watched the WR guy do p8 in just under 3 hours with a necro. His knowledge of map layout, monster AI and which fights to take is incredible.
 
Good to see some interest in speed-running. I havent done any p1 clears like that but last year I did a few other things; a few /playersX 1-hour untwinked exp challenges which I made a thread about here; a few /playersX normal sorc speed runs (2:10 or so was my best in the few attempts I did IIRC) and a number of multiplayer 8-player untwinked hell baal runs with www.twitch.tv/lavsr and his group. They managed to dip below the 2:30 mark in the end of last year:

While fun the p1 full run category is such a big roll of the dice but doing a segmented run is rather time consuming and also quite boring IMO...
I only briefly scanned the most recent vod Fabian - you could reroll whenever you get a bridge map in act 1 to shave off some seconds and you need to work on your Maggot Lair map knowledge
 
Yeah I actually just misremembered what the map layout cheat sheet said about the Maggot Lair, I was going left when you should be going right. Oops.

I did an attempt myself, however, many breaks were involved, so I have no idea of the time. Certainly below 2:30 though. The WoF build seems pretty overpowered in normal...

I've been streaming ~2 times a day for the last couple days. Yesterday I got a PB, but sadly only 2:00:34, so not quite under 2 hours yet.
