Hi nulio, i saw part of that rerolling spree and was wondering a few things:
1) Is it possible to roll a 3 trap / 3 LS claw (preferably with 3 sox) that way?
2) If so, is it also possible in earlier patches (looking mostly at 1.07 since i got a char there)?
3) Do you need regular diamonds or would flawed/flawless/.. also work?
4) Are there any other requirements like ilvl, charlvl,...?

1) Yes (60% odds for 3os)
2) No (but like I did yesterday, just create mules in 1.07 and open them in 1.10a)
3) Normal/Flawless of any gem type
4) No (so no need to have a char in 1.10a)
From what I saw yesterday the formulas work like this:
- 3 normal gems + socketed item -> new magic socketed item
- 3 flawless gems + magic item -> new magic socketed item
So we can use either racked/found white socketed items and start with normal gems or shop/rack/find magic items use the flawless gems once and then go for normal gems. (if we want to use normal gems only)

I saw the making of that 3os fools of quickness. Great stuff! Congrats for that! Let's hope you (or any other trying those) score an amazing trapper claw some day.
Btw, I would call that cubing, not crafting. Not that it matters
e: Jared's Stone/Swirling Crystal/Dimensional Shards can get 3 sockets, right? Then there's possibility (though reallly, really small) to make an amazing orb that way... claws have probably way more usable combinations.

Grape, it would have to be a Dimensional Shard, because of qlvl shenanigans. The potential is there, but getting something useful for high-end pvm or pvp is much more unlikely than for claws (where it is very unlikely to begin with). I can't remember the numbers right now because it's been a long time, but I don't think many people have seriously rerolled orbs that way, mostly focusing on claws instead. Definitely go for it though, a 6 Blizzard/20FCR/IstIstIst type thing would be very cool to see!
It's worth adding that because ilvl of output item is 30 so you can't get tier 6 items in any way. So no Venom, Death Sentry or no sorc masteries. But ilvl makes base tier of staffmods to be tier 4 (fireball, lightning) so good fireball or lightning orbs have better chance of spawning. Getting 6 blizzard orb would have same odds like getting 6 LS claw (I think Fabian got one LS claw in that patch) but 20 fcr is probably requirement for orbs making it much harder target. Not sure if 6 lightning/3os beats CM as non fcr stick.
It also means you can't roll 6 java/40IAS javelin (not socketed, but cheap to make with standard gems) because you are limited to +1 javelin skills from ilvl 30. Stupid patch.
Claws are just better, if for anything, there's no big competition in claw department like with sorc orbs.

Does this work with 1.07? I'm following ch1zra's procedure. Downloaded the Autohotkey and put the two resolutions in the appropriate place (using 1920x1080, 1920 X 1080 & 1920, 1080 formats). Put the -w in the correct place. Run the script first, then started D2 and visa versa. Still no go, the hotkeys are not working. Any ideas?
