Standard of Heroes

Lots of people are arguing that the Standard of Heroes is just a souvenir, something you can show your friends to prove that you have been able to kill the Uber-Bosses. This is almost verified to be the official use of the thing by a Blizzard moderator in a thread on the Battle.net forums (someone please link me to this thread). But in the same thread, he gave a clue that it "isnt the only thing that the Standard of Hero's" does.
That you can use the Standard of Hero's with a cube recipe.
Some people are spreading a rumor(?) that it is possible to cube the thing, this is a possibility, but these recipe's are verified NOT working;
-To cube it with 3,6,9 or 12 Standard of Hereos.
-To cube it with Wirt's Leg.
-To cube it with Scroll or Tome of town portal.
-To cube it together with either body parts or the keys.
-To cube it together with the Hellfire torch.
Some people say that you can have it in the cube when making a runeword, that way making an "Hero" runeword. This seems like a rumor, but hasn't been verified false.
That you get any bonuses when having the Standard of Hereos in inventory.
It has been verified that you don't get any bonuses to any stats that can be looked up at this stage, it may be true that it adds to Magic Find or Gold find. But this doesn't seem especially truly.
That it can be used to open new areas.
One member on the Battle.net forums, clan_iraq, said in this thread that you can via "a special way" use 40 Standard of Hereos to open a new area where you can fight the Evil-Tyrael wich dropps an super elite small charm. This has been verified fake, since the screenshots is quite badly photoshopped. But that does not stop the rumors of going around.
That it has something to do with the mysterious Gem.
There are several versions of this theory, but nothing has been confirmed.
That it can be socketed in items.
This has been verified false, this cant be done.
That it can be sold to an NPC (ie Malah, Jamella, Cain etc.)

That it can be personalized.

i carry one of these around on my lvl 91 hdin just for the heck of it.. lets see... the only thing its done so far is embarass me when im showing gear (i show charms too, and i put that down and they call me a noob)

Fact about the Soh is that you can "farm " it, a character can hold 96 of them if he uses a horadric cube.The lvl req 90 doesnt allow a lvl1-89 char to do with it whatever.If its a cube recipe, i will not be found imho,the 20-30 new Rws of season 2 werent found either,not even the low runes ones like spirit or insight.I still collect them and i am convinced that they will have a purpose.:fortuneteller:

Since I absolutely don't know what a SoH does, I just keep them on a separate mule. I have about 40 of them now, all self-found :grin: !
I hope someday, in a future patch, Blizzard will make something out of them, so I don't feel too stupid for collecting dust on them for such a long time :wink:.

Then there's the theory that if one or more CLvl90 characters in Hell game are holding enough SoH the server will delete them and Uberclone will walk, much like selling SoJ. I can imagine this is the most believable, since we all agree the SoJ-selling concept was born from trying to get rid of dupes and duping, but it appears to have backfired. Still, it's very testable, and would make some sense - the more SoH you have means the more Tristrams have to be run, which is damn dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Maybe Uberclone will be harder in the future, or replaced by another quest for Annihilus.

Look, this is the last time I'm gonna tell you nubs how to use it.
-First, you need to make a hell game where someone hasn't already completed this.
-Go to act 5 and squash all rabbits. ALL OF THEM.
-Lastly, your level 90 character must place EXACTLY 666 levels of ears and the SoH in the Horadric Cube and transmute them.
Btw, this only works on realms.

make sure too use a heavy boot like gore riders or upped goblin toes with alot of crushing blow... those rabbits are fast and elusive!!!:neener:
