I'm really enjoying this tourney Cattleya, I'm sorry I didn't sign up for the last one! I haven't done full clears in such a long time, and I've never played single-pass before, and it's a blast! Maybe I'll have to do a septavariate in this style :grin:

I'm really enjoying this tourney Cattleya, I'm sorry I didn't sign up for the last one! I haven't done full clears in such a long time, and I've never played single-pass before, and it's a blast! Maybe I'll have to do a septavariate in this style :grin:
Yeah, I've been having a ton of fun with this. Normally I just go through the zone, find the waypoints and the entrance to the next zone, then move on. I've probably got 4 or 5 hours invested in this so far and I've only just beaten Andariel on Normal.
I've gotten most of my gear from gambling. Got some nice 20% MF rare boots last night from it. I'm actually using the Serpent Lord staff I found. 2 or 3 swings and my mana bar is full, then I launch a full barrage of fireballs at monsters.

Act 3 was a bit more generous to me this time, I love MFing in all those buildings and ruins in the last three areas of the Act. Meph gave me a green breast plate, fantastic.

I'm glad I just got my cube. Doing complete clears of areas nets a ton of chipped gems. I've been stashing the chipped gems off since I hit Act 2.

Sorc who has just hit act 5.
Was lucky enough to find a gull dagger off diablo so the MF is over 200 with a merc kill (easy enough to execute in normal with static).
Most common item: H boots, no less than four. One of which was gambled.
Not sure about the scoring, I'll have to look into it

You need to do whatever you can to keep to the spirit of "single pass." For safety reasons, you may need to clear an area to the next WP or from the last WP, but you may not use drops from these.wilypueo said:
As far as multiple attempts are concerned, this generally shouldn't be an issue. If you die in an area and you can't get your corpse back, that area should be considered completed. (Unless you can clearly differentiate between cleared areas and uncleared areas.)

Just popping in for a short update on Sorchie the Blaze/Lightning sorceress. She and her trusty cold rogue have cleared the Countess´Tower Cellar. This is the first time I´ve killed her pack on /p8 after I learned that it means less runes (on average) than on lower settings. Trying to reduce the no-drop regarding items seemed more important than getting runes here in Normal. Got an Eld anyway.
That Biggin´s Bonnet is still our only S/U item. We have 9 chipped topazes at work now (1 empty socket) and Sorchie has found a puny MF amulet. She has also managed to gamble both gloves and boots 'of Fortune' (+21% and +24% MF). That´s now bad considering she´s only level 16 and both those item types (the most basic ones) need to be ilvl 17 to support 'of Fortune'.
Let´s see if The Pit, Fouldog or Bone Ash have anything for us...

Diablo was a very long and very tough fight with disappointing returns on /p8. Hwannin's Blessing (the belt) was a real help to prevent his healing. I can never manage to get Hsaru's. Big D only dropped Sigon's Visor and a crapload of blues; that was after killing me three times. His Sanctuary has been the best area so far, netting me 3-4 GP.
Shenk did not drop much, and Eldritch gave me an Angelic Halo - I'm quivering with delight. No, really. I had to quit before reaching the next WP.
I gave my merc a new helm because I was sick of him using a 2 chipped topaz helm.
