splender or rhyme?

needing a second opinion for mf sorc. just want to kno which you would pick. im using tals set so res isnt that much of a factor.

Rhyme every day of the week and twice on sunday.

Besides it has % more MF, it has resists, CBF, GREAT blocking. All Splendor has is +1 skills.

Rhyme is a runeword shield, ShaelEth if i'm not mistaken although maybe that should be EthShael...can't remember

I say splendor because with tals you are lacking FCR and +skills which splendor provides. Blocking isnt as important imo. personally tho i just use a Pdiamond lidless.

Hard to pass up on those resists. Seems like you would outgrow splendor pretty quickly. My lvl 88 sorc wears grim shield rhyme and will til she dies or retires.

I don't know about you, but I only use my Rhyme for 1-3 secs while Meph dies, so the FCR will not help you any. If you need faster cast rate, use Wizzy then switch to your normal weapon.

Splendor = Soft Core

Rhyme = Hardcore

There is no comparison and it shouldnt even be questioned!

Heh, that's exactly what I said in the sorc forum. Everyone freaked out because it was +1 skills and MF.. and I was like that shield is terrible because it doesn't block. It's 1/2 of rhyme and 1/2 of lidless, and somehow manages to be 0 on the usefulness scale (go math!).

Yeah, I really want to like the new runewords and make them. The only one that looks any good to me is the new armor for a FrostMaiden. Though I guess Prudence could be kinda kool in a really nice ethereal.

The one with repair is godly for its rune needs and what can come out of it.

Those people that may have only a little time to play each week could possible come up with the runes and have themselves a very nice armor. A good ETH can be 600-650+ base and wasnt the mod like 170-190??? Crap that is some sick defense and it gets resists and more. Stone is good but it takes a few more semirare runes also.

The sheild is a waste of text even being coded.

and guys u missed out on one point..the level requirement on the runewords..for rhyme i think iirc is only 27 while for splendor due to the Lum rune its in the mid to high 40s..

THAT in itself is a huge advantage imho... :lol:
