cheers jianz

ahhh .... rerunning and no full clears is soooo liberating! boring parts of the act just fly by!

anyone considering rerunning duriel?

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Dorme received from Thomh, she works fine. Thanks.

What do people consider to be the danger points in A2, normal? The big slug of course. What else? Lightning bugs? Rahkanishu?

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Ackbar the Druid received, and I´ve enjoyed playing him in Act II this far.

I made an early decision that felt questionable at first, but now it looks like a great decision. :)

What do people consider to be the danger points in A2, normal? The big slug of course.

* Summoner (especially his GS)

* Beetles (if they rush you from a distance and you didn´t see it, they can sometimes surround you in a quick ambush).

* Strong melee poison (mummies, Plague Bearers, greater mummies) can be dangerous if you don´t watch out.

* Fangskin´s lair

* Archer/Mages boss packs in Palace cellar can be somewhat nasty.

* Unraveler Champ pack in entrance room, seven tombs.

I think you mean Radament...he's not too bad, just lure the bulk of his army out and kill them outside his resurection range. His poison can be pretty nasty, so bring a couple antidotes.

Lightning bugs can be bad if your LiteRes is low, especially boss/champion packs.

Depending on how your map spawns 'em, Fangskin & Co. in the Viper Temple can be pretty dangerous...

The Tombs (true & false) can definitely be nasty, especially if you just charge into rooms without assessing them first...

Finally, of course, Duri is quite nasty to certain builds... never nice to have to jump into a mosh pit with a slug the size of a dump truck, LOL.

I can say with some certainty that I, at least, have NO intention of running Duriel.

Same here. Dooku is recuperating in Atma's tavern before starting the wierd Arcane Sanctuary. I'm played fast with /p1 and will continue so until the little d is done. After that I'm going to run /p7 Arcane Sanctuary for some runes & gems.

EDIT: Just killed the Summoner and TPed to the town as there was too much to carry on the floor. In there I forgot about that and just S&E without grapping the Canyon of the Magi WP. DOH!

Ahsoka (Amazon) has killed Duriel and will wait for a couple weeks before being transferred to the next owner.

I cannot stomach replays for equipment when most of what you find will either be useless in this tournament or at least not good enough for an Act 5 reward bonus.

Since I had not played DII in such a long time, I decided that the only way to survive in this tournament was to get some new experience. So, I will try to play my own seven characters through act 2 before the two weeks are up. Yes, I have created a character in each class and am playing them on my own using Skunkbelly's tournament rules. Great Fun! (Really!!!!) :alright:

I will not being doing that either, but it may not be quite as bad as you think. When you initially kill Duriel, you gain access to the area where the Archangel T awaits you. On subsequent runs, you have access to that area immediately. That can be useful in providing area to move around and avoid the slug. I hosted a tournament once that required you to run each act boss until a ring was dropped. After the ring dropped, you could move on to the next act. My character reached Nightmare act 2 and ran Duriel about twenty times without getting a ring drop. Finally I gave up and started another tournament.

Judging by some of the tournaments you've hosted, this is not surprising.

I received Biggs from scrcrw... so I am playing a character of the same class for the first two acts, and it's interesting to see how someone else tackled the same problems with similar resources. You wouldn't think there could be much difference when it's the first act and our gear/skill choices are so limited, but you would be wrong. Anyone else get the same class twice? (Trying not to comment on the actual character, but still foment discussion.)

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Nah, you were the only one I think.

Decided I will do some duriel runs, if only for style points. Slug certainly ain't gonna drop much worth having. Does he at least give ok xp?

I got the same class also. The player before me invested somewhat fewer skill points, but the basic idea was the same. He sure passed on some weird items, though...

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Good to hear we're seeing some interesting differences already... and that we've had no deeds thus far.

It's going to be a big relief, getting to Act 3, and being able to pick a Power Skill finally!
