Carrisa clearance of the Cannion Of The Magi was smooth sailing, the monster roll had nothing to be of threat....apart from them beetles….dam there lighting!!!. After nothing interesting happened and the Cannion of the Magi was cleared we moved into the first false tomb. Once arriving we were met with skeletons, unravellers, beetles and Gorebelly’s…:yikes:!! Well not really…Carrisa was very fortunate to gamble for her merc, Haseen ,a circlet with 1-77 lighting damage. Add that to his 31-67 savage polearm and your looking at some respectable damage at this stage of the game….90-248 to be precise :P. Whilst clearing our first false tomb…we were kindly greeted by Kaa...however his drop was nothing.

So far all false tombs have been completed. Now it is onto the real tomb were Duriel waits.

Upon entering the real tomb we were yet again met by hordes of beetles and Gorebelly’s….Dam them beetles!!!. After countless battles and much blood spilt…we finally found Duriel’s tomb. Carrisa was ready for the big fight. Due to respect for the ugly slug thing….we lowered the players settings to p/5. However there was no real need because Duriel didn’t pose any real threat. He constantly targeted my shadow warrior and when it died Carrisa just re-casted it. A few times Carrisa was caught spectating but that was because we were sharing the workload. The fat, ugly,slimy bug thing fell after a not so epic battle and his drop wasn’t to great either.

Any way……here we come act 3…..i can tell this will be a fun act. Full clearing…. and all them dart throwers. It should become easier once venom and shadow master are available:thumbsup: .

Next on the list = Clear Spider forest, get Waypoint and get heart (or which ever one it is…eye?).

Barbie arose after a fitful slumber filled with dreams of flayers and hydras to another day in her Pandemonious life. She began her day like every other day, brushing out her long, golden locks of hair, 137 strokes exactly. Then she tried her best to remove the red stains from her teeth from all the healing potions she'd been consuming lately. "I'm going to need some major polish work when this is all over with," she thought idly to herself. Then she tightened the straps on her gear, ran hundreds of miles back to the Black Marsh to kill the countess again, came back, and washed her face. Her every-morning routine completed, she and Ilzan (whose morning routine consisted of waking up, letting loose a horrendous amount of built up gasses, and then smiling at the stench) descended the delapidated stone stairs into the deep bowels of hell. She forged her way to the Hellforge (no pun intended) and was rewarded with a Lum. She added it to her growing collection, placing it next to her Hel, in hopes of someday engraving the runes into an armor in memory of her beloved deceased pet carver, Hellumfal. Ilzan and Barbie eventually came upon Diablo once again. He put up a horrendous fight while Barbie sat back and sipped a cool beverage and observed her Valkyrie and Mercenary whittle away at the Lord of Terror. Eventually Barbie had to get involved as well, and 1,267 arrows later (yes, she did count each and every one, thanks very much) Diablo let out a scream not unlike the Lucasarts copyrighted Darth Vader "Nooooooooooo!" from the end of Episode III.
Encouraged by her recent success, Barbie pressed onward into the foothills of Mount Arreat, picking up rouge barbarians along the way. At one point, Barbie had 6 barbarians helping her over difficult pieces of terrain all at once, vying for her attentions. Barbie felt that they were very helpful and kind-hearted for barbarians. Ilzan thought it had more to do with the shape of Barbie's shiny new armor. The trek up the mountain is always dangerous, and nearly half-way to the summit, the heroic team made camp for the night. The next morning would bring even more dangers their way...

Character: Barbie
Class: Passive Zon
Level: 65
Quest: Rescue on Mount Arreat (NM)
Waypoint: Crystalline Passage (NM)

Barbie started off the next day the same as the last, then pressed on further up the mountain. She had her first encounter with gloams and came through only mildly singed. Ilzan, on the other hand, will smell like burned hair for days... Barbie fearlessly rescued Anya from an icy prison, and in return was rewarded with a spear worth exactly 16,247 gold.
The Ancients were distraceted by the shiny Valkyrie, and fell like huge, muscular, ghostly dominoes. Baal was a huge pain, constantly spawning his clone and distracting Ilzan with his tentacle things.
Upon arriving in the Rouge Encampment once more, Barbie realized that her equipment is severely underpowered for the task at hand. With resists deep in the red, and damage so low it takes an entire quiver of arrows to slay a zombie minion, Barbie's hope is fading. Still, she has her faithful companion the Valkyrie, who was kind enough to dress to match.
Next update will probably take a while, as killing speed has drastically slowed.

The ClawedHarpy stared, aghast at what she was reading. "To enter the Worldstone Keep you must prove yourself worthy by defeating us." She cursed under her breath. She, the blessed warrior of Zeus, who had defeated Mephisto and Diablo in their own lairs now had to prove herself worthy to save the world?! She kicked the stone alter in the middle of the three statues.

Her toe throbbed.

Well. She wasn't going to deal with this. This was stupid. Let the world crumble for all she cared. She'd had enough. She was rummaging through her pouch for a Scroll of Town Portal when a flash of golden light filled her vision and barbarian war cries filled the air.

The Clawed Harpy heard Azareal start his holy chants to God. "Let me prove myself worthy to save your blessed world!" A blue light appeared beneath the Clawed Harpy's feet and she felt her skin harden.

She turned around to see Azareal and her Valekrie locked in battle with statues. Statues.

She sighed and raised her bow. Which one to fire on now?

Several hours later, covered in demon blood and a homemade battle horn pressed to her lips (those stupid Moon Lords should have known better to face HER Valekrie), the Clawed Harpy waltzed into Baal's Throne Room, her two companions at her side. Baal sat atop the throne, staring down.

"I don't suppose you're ready to die?" She asked.

"My minions will destroy you! They will avenge my brothers!" He cried back. Was that harsh, gravely, demonic voice supposed to be intimidating?

"Yeah, yeah," the Clawed Harpy replied, "Well, can we get started? You see, Hermes and Aphrodite have this party planned, and I'd hate to miss it..."

"You will party in Hell!" The Demon of all Demons replied.

The Clawed Harpy couldn't help but laugh as Azureal slammed his polearm through Listor's head.

So much for minions.

They headed into the worldstone chamber.

~~~~~~~~~~~
The Demon of all Demons tried everything. He sent triangular shards of ice, sapped all of the magical power in the room (did that ferocious, cursed girl even use magic?!), he even summoned his clone. Yet those cursed arrows, the ones that had felt like pins at first, still found him. He felt blood oozing out of the thousands of small wounds. It was green. It boiled. It ate holes in the ground.
It did not, however, eat holes in the Harpy's companions.
Then, finally, he saw his opening. He was about to end the puny life of Azureal when he felt the shock of a lance go straight throw him. Electric energy surged. He screamed. He felt the depths of hell calling back for him.
"AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!"
The Clawed Harpy stared at the ground in disgust. The Demon of all Demons hadn't even bothered to drop a unique item. Or a set item. She was happy that these were the last rare items she would have to see in the room.
Now. She had a party to attend.
Talk to the angel. Go through the portal. Ah. Yes. This was perfect. This was the Fields. This was...
"Greetings Stranger,"
This was Zeus playing a trick. He'd turned back time?! The Clawed Harpy gave a cry of indignation. If she had to kill the Demon of Demons twice more she would make it to her party.
Zeus would NOT stop her.
Carrisa so far has been breezing through act 3..so far the spider forest, the great marsh and almost the flayer jungle have been fully cleared. Ever since hitting level 30 shadow master and venom seriously increased our killing speed drastically. ESPECIALLY when we were clearing the flayer dungeon when out of a chest this beauty dropped..
Static Circlet
Required Level: 18
Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
this went straight onto Haseens head and his old one.......
Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
Item Level: 27
which he has been wearing since act 2 was placed onto Carrisa's.......
This combined with venom has almost thripled my damage output and now things are dieng in seconds on p/8. I am so far enjoying doing full clears as there has been some very nice charms and other goodies which have been dropping in places were most people dont even venture (stony tomb, false tombs etc).
Next on the list- fully clear everyting / complete quests up to Meph. A update will follow on our progress.:thumbsup:
Andariel fell today. I don't know when it happened, but it seems as if the ClawedHarpy has become an NPC in her own story. It's the Valykrie that does everything. Stab this, stab that. The Clawed Harpy just watches and shoots a few thorns at people. At least she shoots them really fast.
Andariel dropped nothing. A few rare items that could be found in Act 3 Normal. *sigh* I think I need better magic find, but all the slots are filled with things boosting my resistances. At least she wasn't much of a challenge.
I've run into this same problem... wait'll you get a little further, when you feel totally useless. :grin: Seriously, though, I'm having a real rough go of it in Hell; keep up the good work, you'll catch me soon!
Yes, a bowazon without bow skills is a tough grind. Best thing to hope for is some Crushing Blow, Open Wounds, or at least long poison to halt regen. Base damage alone just doesn't cut it in Hell. I've done this build with the melee approach; shield + one-handed CB weapon, e.g. Strength/Black. Damage was OK, but I'm sure the ranged approach is safer. Anyway, good luck people, I like the updates. A1cme3 and SoiLo, you guys crack me up.
Progress has really slowed in hell. I stopped for a few hours of mfing Mephisto and I managed to find some really nice finds (including 30% resist vipermagi and a lidless wall), but even then I couldnt get good enough resists or a good weapon for my merc. After all that rerunning I grew bored and teleported through act1, realizing that act 2 will be far to dangerous to do the same in...
At the moment I am chilling in lut gholein and dreaming dreams of evil merc weapons and the oculus.
Several things happened as the Clawed Harpy crossed the hot desert with the Valykrie and Azreal. First she remembered how much she hated bugs. They were icky, squishy, and full of green blood. They shot blooby blots of poison at her which were incredibly hard to dodge despite the fact that she was a naturally born contortionist. No less that three unique bows dropped from unique monsters as well. However, each one would have been a perfect match against... well, anyone she had fought against in the past... future... whatever...
Now they were completely useless.
After breaking one of the bows against a Unraveller's head (that monster paid for blowing poisonous clouds at her) the Valykrie came up to talk to her.
"Hi," it said.
"Ummm... hi, shouldn't you be killing those scarabs over there? Azreal isn't as strong as he used to be..."
"Oh sure. I'll get over there in a moment," the heroin of the story (who was NOT the harpy) replied. "I just needed to talk to you for a moment."
"So talk."
"Ummm... this is hard for me to say. Remember the night you spent with Aires during the Trojan War?"
"Yes."
"Well... ummm... I'm your granddaughter." And with that she drove her spear through the scarab's head.
The Harpy just stared aghast. What was the world coming to?
~~~~~~~~~~~

Azreal's body lay beneath the, uh, feet of Duriel. It was twisted and broken. Despite the twelve purple potions the harpy had fed him he had been squished by the very bug he was trying to squish. The Harpy felt that there was some poetic justice there. She also thought she should be angry. Only... she was out of arrows. She thought about venting her rage with a scythe she had borrowed from the Grim Reaper... but it was easier to take a break. She wasn't as young as she had been.

The Valykrie, her granddaughter (she still couldn't believe it), took forever to squish the giant bug demon. The Harpy had even caught her breath and cast around for a few rocks to throw.

"Take this!" She shouted as she hurled a pebble through the air.

"AAAAARRRRGHHHHHH!"

As the pebble hit Duriel he exploded in a mass of green blood and white maggots. She and her granddaughter fished through the slime covered equipment he dropped, but moved on unimpressed.

"Shouldn't you grab Azreal's body?" her granddaughter asked.

"Nope. I hear rumours of ice wizards in the jungles. I figured we could get one of those instead."

"But... he deserves a funeral at least!"

"Okay, you give it to him. I'll be talking to Deckard when you're finished."

Beat Andy without any major problems. I'm torn between the spirit wolves and the dire wolves. I can have 5 spirit to the 3 dire, but the dire wolves have more life, and do more damage. I've gone from an act 1 rouge to a act 2 prayer merc. Will probly keep him till NM where I can get might. Imbued a wolf helm. Got +cyclone, fissure and Feral rage. Feral rage isn't goint to help any, and a level 1 fissure doesn't do much damage, but I like the +3 Cyclone armor. Should help a lot against the beetles coming up. Not much in the way of new items. But I've only got 22mf. Best item change was finding Hsarus belt from Andy. My stash is full of gold, need to gamble some gloves and boots. I also need to figure out what to do with my stat points. I've got 45 left to spend. I'm hoping not to get involved in combat much, but I should be putting some points into str/dex so I can use a good item if I find it. I believe my life is somewhere around 200 with oak sage. My lack of progress can be attributed to real life. And it will slow down even more if the LLD thing monkey boy proposed gets off the ground. Still, it is a fun way to play, and I have some confidence. Another update midweek I hope.
