Created my charicter, will play him in a little while when I get home. I'm thinking about getting an act five merc. Tempted to go with a Rouge merc, but I don't want to fight over weapons. Thinking about the barb because I'll have plenty of meat shields from my summons. Might go with an act 2 moron. Don't know yet. And I need to make it that far to even worry about it.
 
As the harsh winds whipped across the face of Mount Arreat, snippets of an argument could be heard being carried along with the snow... "I can't believe you did this!"

Apparently, Barbie had left her knapsack somewhere on the Glacial Trail, and now Ilzan was trailing along behind her back down the mountan to find it. After going several hours out of their way, they eventually found it near the Waypoint. "We'll be lucky if Baal hasn't taken over the world by now," muttered Ilzan. They pressed onward, both a little red in the face. Barbie because the cold air brought the color to her cheeks, and Ilzan after recieving a sturdy slap for a comment about "keeping warm." The Ancients fell in quick order, thanks in part to the level 15 Valkyrie, and Baal was close behind. Upon the request of an angel, Barbie stepped into a swirling red portal, awaiting a reward truly fitting of the hero who had saved the world. Her body spun uncontrollably into the vortex, and then she blacked out. Hours later Barbie awoke, vomited profusely, and looked around. A stout man walked over and said, "Greetings, stranger."
"Oh no," thought Barbie, "here we go again..."

Rules question for Morathi: Since my Glacial Trail spawned with no waypoint, do I have to re-roll my map to get it? And would someone mind telling me how this might be accomplished? Thread about my missing waypoint is here:

Umm in that case....just re-roll the map by making a multi game then going back into sp (the maps would have re-rolled and you can find the waypoint).
 
Slaxz decided to finish Duriel off today, and so stormed the tomb on Players 8, demolishing everythign in his path, and also finding Clegaw's sword. Things were going well it seemed, and Duriel went down without much of a fight, bestowing upon Slaxz a Cathan's ring!

Thus, triumphant, off our hero went to Act 3, to begin Khalim's will. Fighting through swarms of flayers, they finally reached the Spider Cavern. Soon we reached the chest, with Sarsark The burning guarding it. Easy fight I thought, and proceeded to go toe to toe with him.

Woah...Who would've thought, Slaxz easily beat Duriel, but fell to...Sarsark the Burning? Seriously, I'm lost for words at the moment. I had at least 150 life left, but he somehow took it out in 1 hit.
RIP Slaxz.

I was hoping to go into at least Act 5 NM with this guy, because it was pretty easy cruising, letting the merc kill everything with 300 damage.

Well TheBurninator has also perished, act III NM flayer pack caught me off guard and I went into hit recovery lock, ahh well not much I could do about it, good luck to the rest of the tournament players. I'm Out. :sad:

I don't think i'll be rejoining any time soon, and if I do decide to it wont be with another fire sorceress, perhaps I'll give an offensive aura paladin a go. :smile:

After hanging out the lost city for a while, hazade decided to turn invisible.. wierdo...
Dark elder rewarded me with this for killing him.
I've always wanted to try the sanctuary skill, here it is in action. It was great to use sanctuary to keep undead minions like burning dead skeletons off my back when killing bad guys like mummies!
The light will never be extinguished by evil!
I made a steel flail to replace my old steel axe.
A new pair of rare gloves found in the arcaine sanctuary.
I found a tal rune in the arcaine sanctuary aswell, and just a few minutes later a ral rune.
The summoner was hard to get to, but once within my attack range, he died in a few quick blows with my speedy flail.
Surrounded? What are you talking about?

It was good to see a familiar face after that battle.

I have lost chars to him too. He's not to be underestimated, being both extra strong and cursed.. :scared:

I asked Morathi the same question regarding my first fire sorceress, and the answer is yes you are allowed to. You can rejoin with another paladin as I did with my first sorc, however it gets tedious repeating the same thing again.

Condolences on the loss of the paladin, I underestimated a NM flayer pack and paid the price heavily. Good Luck on Paladin #2

Taking full advantage of my day off, Barbie stormed through act 1 without looking back. Well... she may have looked back 4 or 5 times to run the Countess, hoping for some decent runes. Net gains were 2 elds and an ort. The ort did allow Barbie to finally make a decent bow, "Zephyr" in a double bow. NM Andariel fell easier than norm did, and Fara was nice enough to sell Barbie a pair of +1 Passive gloves at a discounted rate. Act 2 will be taken in a few sessions, as that much desert is rough on the gear - sand gets everywhere!

So far so good. The Countess fell to a hail of arrows without landing a single blow with her flaming ax. After that Clawed Harpy dragged her hireling across the highlands and into the Pit. Iantha didn't really want to go, it looked dark and scary down there. It turned out that she was right. Iantha fell, but the Harpy continued on to avenge her lost friend.

Gheed and the Clawed Harpy have become best friends. He has provided almost every piece of equipment she and Iantha have.

Soon the two heroes will delve into the barracks in search or a certain malus...

Mm, I've decided to not rejoin with another character, because I've decided to get my Polearm WW barb started instead.

Last update of the night. I just finished act 1 with all the way points. Along the way a Leadcrow dropped so Clawed Harpy has been using that. Andariel fell incredibly easy; however, also in the room with her was a unique zombie. It was cursed. Almost fell to him and his minions. I had a belt with nine rejuv potions and hit every single one. Finally I cleared a way to a town portal... it was very close.

Probably tackle the sewers tomorrow and head a little further into act 2.

Barbie and Ilzan wandered across the deserts of act 2, stopping occasionally to drink from a well. Both were red in the face; Barbie from the constant sand blasting from across the dunes, Ilzan from a recent slap in response to a remark about a "horadric shaft." After killing countless Claw Vipers (and roasting them over a fire for a light afternoon snack), they proceeded on to kill the Summoner and Duriel. Once again the dangerous journey into the deep jungles of act 3 looms overhead... rumors abound of other mighty warriors falling prey to the not-to-be-underestimated flayer tribes...

After 2 weeks of b-net madness, mostly playing an assassin, I decided to play this tourney with a druid. I never played a druid summoner before. So far everything is running smooth. Playing on /p8, no NDE and no interesting finds.

Play observation: raven is a quite useful skill. The blinding of enemies turned out to be quite useful, especially against those burning archers in the sewers.

Slowed things down a bit only players 1 for now, plan to pick up a cold act 3 merc. maggots lair was quite fun, I opened a mucus door to find a treasure room full of beetles and gnats, after killing about 30 monsters in the doorway I took a screenie of the bug parts spread across the doormat. I found a biggan's bonnet on a quick rerun of andy (dropped on the way through catacomb 3), the 30% EDamage is actually really nice.

I hope to be able to beat Duriel and plow through most of act 3 tonight. I think I picked the second slowest build choice for this tournament.
