Single Player And Dropbox/Drive

(I looked around and didn't really find an answer to this)

Is there a proper way to set up my files so that they can sync between multiple computers? I'd prefer to use Dropbox or Drive, but I could also use an external hard drive if needed.

I have a macbook and a PC and I'd like to play on both (I take my laptop to work/travel).

Are there only specific files that I need to have sync'd, or do I need to install it specifically in those folders (can you even do that?)

Install the whole game in Dropbox is an overkill. I also have a PC and macbook. I have all my stashes (*.d2x) in Dropbox, and I routinely backup my char files (*.d2s) in Dropbox.

When I travel, I just copy the *.d2s to the game's save folder to play.

In theory, yes. I wouldn't bother with copying everything if I did it often; I would just change the safe directory in msconfig to the (One Drive / Google Drive / Drop Box) Folder that automatically gets synced.

Yes, there is a way. You can use dropbox to automatically save everything on the cloud, and sync it in several computers.
