I think im going to retire my mage
After getting the best possible gear/charms for a mage and rebuilding him to attain optimal damage on both hammers and foh (1st mage was 6k hammers/6.5k foh... 2nd was 7.5k hammers/5.5k foh... 3rd was 9k hammers/4.5k foh) i think its about that time for him to retire... sure he was cool and i loved the reactions i got in pubbies and the compliments i got from friends... but aside from being different i dont feel like its worth it anymore
pros of a mage:
1. you always have the element of surprise because they either think you are either hammers or foh... not both
2. foh is a great finisher... auto-target and auto-aim... doesnt get any better than this
3. hammers is just great since it cant be negated... factor in the foh and you have a dangerous combo
4. uniqueness
cons of a mage:
1. it cant be made to tank anything... but its not necessarily a glass cannon neither... hard to say where it stands... im thinking it should be either one or the other tho
2. too damn expensive... regardless of all the p combat lifers/lifer scs i got im not really satisfied with the end result life/mana/resist wise
3. foh is easily negated since its a secondary skill... this isnt so bad because u ll always have hammers... but for that... might as well just make a pure hammerdin then :undecided:
4. it sucks when you have to switch gear because that means you have to switch everything around... endless nights of finding the best setup for this and that
i was thinking of just making a pure hammerdin but damn there are so many of them and i just dont wanna be "another" one in the mix... but i cant deny the fact that they are monstrous with the right gear (im talking about 5k+life / max block / naturally stacked resists for the negation of cold and light spells) but yea all in all i think its about that time to say goodbye
