Questions about Sanctuary...
No, I never cease asking questions about the world we play in, even though the questions have little bearing on gameplay - but have plenty to do with role-playing in the world or the mindset of a serious (read "demented") player.
1. Is Kehjistan an Empire?
2. Who lead the Horadrim - a council or one person?
3. What's the difference between the Viz-Jaq'taar and the Khral-Harzhek?
4. What was Jerhyn's father's name? And what is Jerhyn's title if he has not "grown into a fine young Sultan" as Warriv hopes he will?
5. Who originally built the Seven Tombs? Architecture in the area is a mixture of Earth's Commagene and Egypt sculptures...
6. If Harrogath is ruled by a Council of Elders, does that mean that all the Barbarian tribes are ruled by a central Council of Elders in Sescheron? Is the position of Elder hereditary or elected?
7. How are the Amazons ruled?
8. If Entsteig is where the Rogue Sisterhood has their Monastery (according to the D2 mini-manual), why does Deckard Cain say the caravan came through the desert from Khanduras to Lut Gholein?
9. Anyone know what "Lut Gholein" means? Does it really mean "Jewel City"?
10. Since the Druids find burial of the dead to be strange, what do they do with the corpses of their own dead? Cremation? Or do they feed them to their Carrion Vines?
11. Is there a more complete map of Sanctuary in existance anywhere? I wonder what lies further East, past the jungles of Kehjistan...
12. What are Sand Raiders and their kin? Are they supposed to be native to the Aranoch? Claw Vipers and their kin, too, are they also native? Or are they all creations/mutations of the Prime Evils? If so, from which era - their banishment to Sanctuary, or the current troubles?
13. Was Jered Cain, Deckard Cain's father, of any importance?
14. If the Horadrim could be compared to a modern group - Freemasons, police, MI6 and James Bond's pals, etc - what would they be? I'm trying to wrap my brain around what they were like and how they would have operated...
Errr, I think that's enough for now. I'll shut up and go play...
Thanks!
