sints prebuff:6.16mins
doom kills kelfir: 13
longest round:5 mins
most kills:doom
most times killed: kabal

since 20 points is a limit, I doubt we will see so many zon kills (remember rules changed to 1 point per kill).

About thy affecting others with harmony, if she hostiles both teams and both teams unhostile her, then its gg.

I rarely check the PvP threads (as they're always too long ) but I must say that I'm disappointed by the FFA results! The #1 favorite Liq became the 4th? THE SORC WON?

In this battle, Blue Team will definitely wipe out the Red. Not only Red Team are officially LOSERS, but despite the potentially effective characters, they're not a team. On the other side, we have the incredeadly © combination of

1. High level War Cries
2. High level Paladin auras
3. High level Enchant
:smug:

Is it even worth using up the bandwidth? :fortuneteller:

you could add insane damage for the blue team. Add enchant=insane incredible damage. And my favorite chars are all on the blue side.

LET'S GO BLUE!!!

Is this going to happen today(night)?
I can't FRAPs tonight, I have to work and probably won't be back before midnight. I have PM'd Liq.:cry::cry: So so sorry. I thought it was next week and didn't book time off.

Dont worry Thyiad, I think we can do w/o fraps:wink3:

IF you can still host a game for us, then its gg, IMO:cool:

edit: @Sint: yep

And the challenge ends. Another good idea by LE and another nice set of duels delivered. I'll talk you trough them.

Preduels:
Dent, Doom and I had one team meating. We wanted to test our characters and talk about how the other team would look and how we'd tackle them. Here are some insights on how we went at that.
We had 3 chars, Doom with his WW barb, Dent with his Hammer/charge/smite/GA whateverdin and me with a brand new Lightning sorc build for this challange. We wanted to test the damage done, the manouvrability and team tactics first. What we were VERY glad to see was that chain lightning hurts like crazy in PvP. The downset of course is that if opponents are on the move the CL misses often, but against stationairy target it worked. This was great because we expected the other team to be camping a lot. Taking advantage of their ranged power.
Here was our idea of their set-up. Kefir and Sablast would be the spammers, one throwing bonespells around while the other peppered arrows trough the air. That left Kabal and Liq. One of those had to be defending the rangers while the other was more of a wild card. We expected Kab (which didn't turn out that way) to be a pure trapper, packing MB and traps to keep people away while holding a beast axe in his hand to help out Kefir who had the punch. That left Liq as a wildcard. He had the back up skills (minions, tornadoes and oak), but could be offencive too. He could either be semi offencive only attacking when seeing someone alone or he could help the defence. It turned out otherwise with LE being the sole defender and Kab being the semi offencive one with a trap/ww hybrid.
Right, some strategies:
1. Camp. Dent brought a widowmaker, so we could protect him and let him play some sort of mini-amazon with Doom's beast and his own concentrate.
2. Dent doing a drive-by where he would charge just past the opponents hoping to either scare them or attract their rangers to fire his way, leaving their flank open for me and Doom to attack.
3. Me doing a drive-by where I would teleport past etc.
4. Pick them off one at the time where I would be some sort of wild card (teleporting around) shooting lightning and chain lightning to seperate them and doom and dent to mop it up.
5. Stun and conquer. Either dent or me to distract them, doom to teleport in their center and start leaping in place. That would put them in constant knock back which would leave it an easier time for dent and me to attack.

Right.. on to the game.
We enter the game, some of the other team late  but we got there a little past 8 o' clock and we saw Kab bringing another Sin then the FFA duels. This ment that we had to calculate in the wirling form him.

We decided to see how they played where we would stick with strategy #1 and me scouting a bit to see how their camp would look like.

Round 1.
We started out. I teleported a bit around to find them. They were clustered together as expected with Kefir and Sab shooting outwards. We hadn't calculated bonewalls (which ofcourse was to be expected), but I saw those too. LE seemed to be standing around providing team back up with an Insight on switch and Kab looked after the outside perimiter with his traps. I teleported over and shot a few times but backed off once I saw what it looked like. This was bad. We couldn't charge in and/or pick them off. They had build a fortress. The upside ofcourse was that we had time to think our actions trough because they wouldn't be moving. I decided to teleport close and shoot a couple of CL's. That way I got rid of their minions and if they stood still maybe I could hurt them too. It worked partly, because I got in and out okay, but Doom followed suit and got in there trying to kill Kefir. Oh.. he died. Not a good start. I teleported around a bit and suddenly I got disconnected.
Damn.
I reconnected and the game was stalled. We decided to go on 4v2. This time I teleported around and saw them standing still. So I fired a CL or two and killed LE. That should help a lot since he was the one with oak. We fought a bit more and then Dent for diconnected.
Damn.
Now what. We decided to move on to 3v2 but without BO from Doom as the other team had no oak anymore. Dent took a couple of hits, but this time we succeeded in making them move. They were out in the open more which was good for me to teleport around and should've helped Dent too to pick of opponents easier. Alas, dent fell.. leaving me 1v3. I had the mobility on my side though and I could teleport around freely without having to worry about team mates. They went agressive, but I took them all. Round one to the blue team with 4-2.
Only 16 points to go.

Round 2.
We decided on a different tactic. Doom and Dent would stick together where as I would be a wildcard teleporting around picking on them from all angles. This worked like a charm, taking down Kab and LE only to find out Kefir and Sab weren't hostiled to me (and others?). Doh. Without healing we hostiled and decided to battle it out. I pressed my luck and tried to tank them both by just teleporting over there and hurting them. Dead sorc. Kab and Dent took out the remainders though, so they made up for it. Round two to the blue team with 4-1. Score: 8-3.

Round 3.
Because the tactics went to well we decided to change them  and charged in. I teleported around like normal, but that left a small opening for Doom. He grabbed it, but couldn't reach his prey. I tried to help him out, but that left me vulnerable too. With both of us out of the way Dent could to little to face the storm. Round three to the red team with 3-0. Score: 8-6.

Round 4.
We backed up a bit. I was to be the wild card again, but Doom and Dent would be more perservative. It worked like a charm. I teleported in and out and around and all over only to come back to the safe haven Dent and Doom could provide. Here's where we had a mix up. Dent thought it was okay to heal with holy bolt so he shot a couple at me. I warned him not to, and we continued (this will come back, hold that thought). My persuing of the red team proved too much, as one of them fell (sorry don't remember who). That left Dent a Doom a bit more easy access, while I still pressed on. I took another kill as Kab got seperated from his team to fall to Doom. A sole survivor went down too. Round four to the blue team with 4-0. Score 12-6.

Now there was a discussion on healing after that. Dent didn't know it wasn't allowed, but LE knew they talked about it. We decided to battle on and see later on what would happen about it.

Round 5.
This round was a quick one. LE had to get his frustrations out (or wanted to stop Dent from making the same mistake twice) as he went on the offencive trying to telestomp him. That wasn't good though, as he got seperated from his team and fell. After that we could pretty much mop the score up. Round five to the blue team with 4-0. Score 16-6.
After that there still was discussion about the healing. We said it was over, but there needed a way to settle this and keep the game going. I suggested to just take round 5 and reverse it. That way we went down 4 kills and they went up 3. That would make up for the healing bit and keep the game going. LE took it changing the score to 12-9.

Round 6.
I spurred our team to take this round at all costs. After giving away points it was crucial to get this round to stop the others from getting in a winning mood. We decided on the same strategy. I was to pick/tick them off while Dent and Doom were to sweep in if they saw an opening. As planned I could teleport around, shoot lightning and hop in and out of range. I took one of them out. They got on the move trying to mop up Dent and/or Doom, but that left them ''surrounded'' with me on their backs and Dent and Doom on their fronts. It proved too much and in the chaos that ensued we got all the kills. Round six to the blue team with 4-0. Score: 16-9.

Round 7.
If we got this round we would've reached the necesary 20 points. It would be nice. No tactic change. It worked and we sticked to it. I picked them off. Kab went a bit more agressive, with added risk (but it seemed to pay off as I couldn't get too close and Dent and Doom couldn't catch him). After a while I teleported around right about the time they went mobile a bit. I added confusion by attacking and Dent and Doom's timing was good enough to make my one kill turn in to four. Doom died after they did, meaning he died in mid ww. We'll count that one. Round seven to the blue team with 4-1. Score 20-10.

The blue team won.
As for the rounds, the blue team got all of them except for round 3. This means that if we'd have done the scoring by team victory we would also be up by 6-1.

After thoughts: It seemed I was the deciding factor again. I changed my sorceress from a fire one to a lightning one and lame as I was renamed her to ''Bill'' (which was my fire one) and got an orb with +meteor on it to show off before the first match. That way I hoped they all thought I was fire and I could surprise them. My teleporting around was no defending against. CL was the key against minions and stationary opponents. The downset was that I had less FCR, but I could still teleport out of MB lock so that wasn't too bad. Kefir did surprise me though. With my lower fcr and other attack (Lightning vs Fireball) I couldn't tank him. He would eat my ES easily and with his KB I had even trouble teleporting out of it if he got more then a couple of hits in.

As for survivability, Dent Doom and me all died 3 times. No difference there.

On your table.
Sints prebuff: about 30 sec. I only had to change 3 items to get to ES, 2 to get to the cold armor and back again. No worries there. The team chat before each round took a lot longer.
Doom kills Kefir: Twice I think.
Longest round: 10 min? I remember Doom's BO running out in the last round .. which is about 6-7 minutes right there and after that it still wasn't a quick win.
Most kills: Sint. Not sure how many.. 10-12 or something.
Killed most: Red team.

Anyway, it was another good tournament and a nice challange by LE. Grats to him and his team to set up a good fight. I'll thank Denton and Doomas here too for helping me out.

GG

Another GREAT write up Sint, GG. Once again congats to all that competed, and to the Blue team, well done guys

Yes, it was a surprising loss and I'm partly in shock. With all the range on my team, I figured we would be quite gg. The sorc was again just too much to handle. Sint has really opened my eyes to the power of that class when coupled with Insight, etc. (Looks like mine [87] is in for some leveling). They especially shine in team duels and it was again, clearly the power char. Energy Shield ftw. Hats off to a well-played strategy with the renaming of your char and Meteor castings. It was quite clever. I can't speak for the rest of my team, but I was indeed prepared for fire the first round.

My job on the team was to basically guard the zon and necro and keep them fueled with Insight so they could spam their little hearts out. It worked half-way decent, but I didn't like playing the role of mana mule. After the first couple dropped players sablast neglected casting bone walls. We knew the sorc would be tough but we thought kabal's hybrid sin would help to counter it.

I'm sure I looked like a bitter assclown concerning the holy bolt healing, but breaks in clearly posted rules are garbage, especially ones we've talked about so I just don't buy that you didn't know it was a rule (and then later, that you knew but forgot). I think I'll probably just manage the next challenge rather than playing them so I can deal with that kind of crap unbiased and accordingly next time around. And I don't want a reply to this saying 'it was only a few bolts, don't get bent out of shape.' A breach in the rules is cheating plain and simple. I consider it terrible form. It's your job as a participant in these things to know and understand the few rules set forth at the beginning of these events.

Anyway, aside from that little event, I had fun and want to thank everyone for playing and thanks to Thy for hosting. Her and I have another challenge brewing for January, hopefully some of you will be able to make it back for that one. Since the poll is set to close at the original date, I'll post the results as they were before people knew the outcome and decided to vote.

Blue Team (Sorc, Barb, Paladin) 21 46.67%
Red Team (Druid, Necro, Assy, Zon) 24 53.33%

you're right Liq, afterwards I neglected casting bone walls. It was pretty stupid from my side.
It turns out that when ever Liq's druid died, my necro would follow almost immediately. Without insight, I'm dead meat with my necro. I quess I just cannot controle my spamming  .
At least I don't spam posts that much

Nice duels guys, thanks again Liq for interesting challange and Thyiad for hosting it:wink3:

I have to say Im surprised too. Sint did wonderfull job in this one
The strategy realy worked like a charm.
Scenario was similar in all rounds: Dent and me stay away from action until sint tele's around and takes down one of the big guys or seperates them from their ranged cannons, after Liq or kab was down it was safe for us to join the action.

My main targets was assa ( if kab decides to follow sint, leaving arrow and bs cover) and zon ( if there's no one defending her).
Barb used FFA setup except boots and ring (used gores and 1x wisp).

Sry for short writte up, its 2 am here:wink3:

GG guys.
