• Hi everyone!

As part of our plan to create a unified community across all sites/logins, we have now integrated VGAssist into the forum community here and ported over some of the more popular guides. This part of the community will focus on game guides as well as a community videogaming Q&A section and we encourage you all to get involved too :)

While we were doing this we have fixed up a few visual anomalies in some parts of the forums too.

Problems with democracy...

The main issue I have with democracy is that it can not weight human emotions. If a person knows something about a particular subject matter or another we tend to develop emotions that connect us to these issues. This naturally leads us to the idea that by gathering a larger sample will somehow give us a more corrected view of the situation at hand of which there is no proof to substantiate this view. My point is that there is no proof's in this world that gathering larger samples will actually give us a more or less clearer view of what is the best course of action for humanity to take.

My father was a well known "commy" or socialist here where I live and I can't say I have ever agreed wholeheartedly with his views. However communism does not get given a chance in our society today. At every opportunity it is shot down in flames by the 'politically correct' social elite and their connective powers. So how is the modern human in a capitalist society meant to grapel with the challenges of the post covid-19 world?

The world right now is in a state of flux that we have never seen before from a capitalists view so where are we headed?

As the famous saying goes, "Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner". "Democratic Socialism" is a euphemism for fascist or communist dictatorship using "the People" as an excuse for the elites' excesses.

So where are we headed? Progressive fascism, of course. Also referred to as "State Capitalism" in China, or socialism with a smiley face. Maoists (Democratic Socialists) are too self-destructive and the elites know full well that their control of the mob only goes so far. For all the stupid goobers claiming Xian white supremacists are going to ban gay marriage, the obvious intent of the New Left for the past 60 years has been to enslave the free market and funnel the profits into their pockets, rather than allowing those who create wealth keep it themselves.

Trump's election was a last gasp of pro-American free-market nationalism with a VERY flawed figurehead, and even if he wins in 2020 the fascists will complete the "fundamental transformation" of America in 2024. Once America has been crushed beneath their jackboots, there's nowhere left to run. From then on, it's just a matter of turning the screws until everyone is living equally - that is, miserable, poor, & malnourished (while the Party elite will continue to loot what they can from the systems they're deliberately collapsing). It's really kind of amusing that so many retarded children insist that they're not determined to live in Venezuela, when that's exactly what they're demanding.

P.S., I wouldn't worry too much about the world after Wuhan Flu AKA COVID-19. Not only is it not much more dangerous than H1N1 under President Pantcrease Light-Worker (you know, that epidemic where we DIDN'T shut down the U.S. while screaming ORANGEMANBAD!!!) but Earth has had massively worse plagues throughout history. Might be surprised at how poor quality the eventual two-tier health care will be, though, and those under it will be more likely to die from tetanus, cholera, or dysentery than living long enough to fall victim to COVID-19.

US Covid deaths up to Sept 17th = 197000.

US H1N1 deaths from April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010 = 12,469.

Note: comparing 9.5 months to 12 months. How many more will die by the end of the year?

Not much more dangerous, Merv?

How many of these have we already checked the box for under the current administration? Saying that "the fascists will complete the "fundamental transformation" of America in 2024" is ridiculous since Trump is spear heading this transformation with the help of the GOP today, as we speak.

Also to expand on @superdave 's point in regards to the number of COVID deaths, if your response is "Oh BuT ThEy HaD UnDeRlYiNg CoNdiTiOnS", I have a fun fact. If I get mauled by a bear and start to bleed out but also have diabetes, and when I get to the hospital and the hospital has trouble managing the blood loss from the wounds in conjunction with managing my diabetes, I still died from being attacked by a freaking bear.

Exactly. Don't give me the line that fascism is going to kick in when Drump is supposedly out of office in 2024. Trump and his administration are the definition of facism. He loves Papa Putin and his best buddy Kim Jong-un.

Well, if we're going to use some random un-sourced picture of "VERY BAD THINGS!!1!" as the metric, rather than historical analysis of fascism, lets see...

Under Obama's reign,
  • "Disdain for human rights" (drone campaign & assassination of asserted terrorists)
  • "Identification of Enemies as a unifying cause" (people like me, particularly Christians & J00z)
  • "Controlled Mass Media" (tell me again how FOX is state-run media?)
  • "Obsession with National Security" (I suppose James Rosen was a known Chinese agent)
  • "Religion & Government Intertwined" (Atheism is a religion, per SCOTUS ruling)
  • "Corporate Power Protected" (I suppose you could ask GE & Solyndra how their Green Energy projects paid off)
  • "Disdain for Intellectuals & the Arts" (See "Christians", above)
  • "Obsession with Crime & Punishment" (Nobody ever talks about Obama's incarceration rates - particularly kiddies in cages. Funny how Kamala is pretending that wasn't her core facet)
  • "Rampant Cronyism & Corruption" (I'm sure you're one of those "not a smidgen of corruption" true believers)
  • "Fraudulent Elections" (Al Franken was elected, wasn't he?)

Saying that "the fascists will complete the "fundamental transformation" of America in 2024" is ridiculous since Trump is spear heading this transformation with the help of the GOP today, as we speak.
So history started in 2016? Damn, I wish someone could convince my mortgage company of that.

I know history is VERY unpopular with Progressives - can't imagine why - but America has a LONG relationship with fascism. Woodrow Wilson, Democrat Party heartthrob, was a fascist (and the progenitor of modern American racism in the bargain). Democrats sang the praises of Mussolini & Hitler - Republicans not so much.

Trying to claim therefore that a single president is responsible is beyond immature & silly.
If I get mauled by a bear and start to bleed out but also have diabetes, and when I get to the hospital and the hospital has trouble managing the blood loss from the wounds in conjunction with managing my diabetes, I still died from being attacked by a freaking bear.
Yet interestingly enough, in your analogy the CDC would not only insist you died from diabetes, and count your death as due to being a diabetic, but would call anyone who claimed otherwise dishonest.

All while putting greasy doughnuts out for the bears.
Exactly. Don't give me the line that fascism is going to kick in when Drump is supposedly out of office in 2024. Trump and his administration are the definition of facism.
So your random picture of Trump is the definition of fascism? Or is it the "Early Warning Signs", which are taken from a 2003 essay by a Xerox exec turned novelist (intended to be scaremongering about George Bush), and available in the Museum's gift shop (even the professional sex workers staffing Snopes had to admit that one)?

Must be nice to make your own definitions (krischan often berates me claiming that's my gig).
He loves Papa Putin and his best buddy Kim Jong-un.
Holy non sequitur, Batman! Obama was raised by a KGB agent, and was close friends with terrorists, one who wanted to kill 25 Million Americans, his wife who praised Charles Manson, and another who was a PLO bigwig (he babysat Sasha & Malia).

But that's not supposed to matter, right? Only Christians & Jews can be EEEEEVVVILLL?

According to Merv, everything that Trump has done and is doing can be excused because....WHATABOUTOBAMA!

Good to know any argument that can be made will end up going back to that that classic. I guess that means I can not bother responding. I mean Trump already said that Biden was responsible for not issuing a face mask mandate (even though he is not the president so he can't) and we can just move into the WHATABOUTBIDEN argument and be done with it.

Doesn't matter much now. With the passing Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the supreme court is going to be stacked 6/3 before Trumps first term ends thanks to the help of Mitch McConnell so Merv can live out his dreams of living in a "conservative" run world.

It won't always be Obama but his arguments will always involve some kind of false equivalency.

RIP Ruth. Didn't always agree with every ruling, but I did agree with with most.

Yes, I heard about Ruth prior to this. Sincerely my condolences. I also heard that the FBI have information on the russians trying to influence your next elections. Maybe Trump needs to intervene here and set the record straight.

Trump really ought to do so, as well as the 'blanket' declassification of the entire seditious Russiagate plan. I don't give a good God damn whether Director Wray believes it will irrevocably damage the FBI's reputation (which at one point was euphemistically why he's done feckall about the endemic corruption).

My suspicion is that the fascists will reject the findings regardless. They're grasping at wisps of information, like the 'Russian bounty' story, far less credible than those we invaded Iraq over. Apparently legitimacy is in the eye of the beholder, or as I always love to point out,

IT'S NOT FASCISM WHEN WE DO IT.png

EDIT - of course, changing the number of Justices on the Supreme Court, eradicating the Electoral College, and eliminating the Filibuster are all TOTES NOT FASCIST.

EDIT2 - If it's not obvious, I've got people who claim that America is running death camps blocked. They're the sort of people who would kill 25 Million of their fellow citizens. Because they've nothing credible to say.

Whew! Thank Mao you'll not have to actually defend any of your laughably ignorant claims, then. Toodeloo!

It would not damage the FBI's reputation so much it damages America's prestige.

Pretty sure that ship sailed a while ago - you know, like back when Snowden defected?

The fact that the American Gov't has been more focused on domination and control of the civilian populace** than on external threats is an indictment from which I believe it won't recover easily, if it does so at all. The cold, hard fact that Trump's presidency was undermined by the so-called "deep state" AKA Washington oligarchy is increasingly evident, and the seditious lies about it sold to the populace by the mainstream media are doing far more than what the foreign powers could have ever hoped to achieve.

A couple of hundred thousand worth of garbage internet memes, directed at both candidates, swayed the 2016 election? Do these people even realize how stupid they sound?

**in fairness it wasn't ALL under President Pantcrease Light-Worker; CARNIVORE was during the Clinton administration and that was an evolution of OMNIVORE which must have been authorized during Republican administrations. Bush Senior was previously the CIA director, after all... In similar fashion #SCoaMF wasn't the one who originated the insane "Fast and Furious" gun-running to narco-terrorists program. He simply decided to weaponize it by deliberately running guns to narco-terrorists in order to fabricate evidence supporting the open lie that guns sold by America were arming the narcos. So the Republicans certainly are neither blameless nor moral; they're just not as openly fascist as the Progressive Democrats.

You forgot to mention the progressives, aren't they in there too?
They're all Progressives. Didn't you realize? :p

Kinda serious. Anyone wanting to grow the power of the Federal Government at the expense of individual freedom is a de facto Progressive. That's what Progressive means. The belief that collectivism using the power of the State as a cudgel is better than individual choice.
