I don´t think this is correct. According http://www.purediablo.com/items/item-generation.shtml any item drop is influenced of mf - it does not matter if you open a chest or kill a monster. I can be wrong of course but state your source as I stated mine, please.Danembont said:No, magic find does affect chest drops. Magic chest drops might be a little different, since there is usually a guaranteed magic item, but i still think that magic find increases the chance of the magic items being rare and unique.
Pit run means... just pit run: Once you are there you should kill, grab and plunder EVERYTHING. :yep:Ayedin said:Could someone enlighten me as to what exactly one does in a pit run? Do you just kill all of the monsters in the pit, kill only the uniques, or just run right to the chest?

keep running the pits, you will find somthing sooner or later.
Backdoor Bandit said:The chest is not what makes pit runs so amazing. If you focus more on the unique monsters you will definately be more successful.

Nemertes said:Here are some pit numbers I've compiled so far...
MF 391% lvl 89; 90 runs
Rare: 203 (2.14 per run)
Set: 42 (0.48 per run)
Unique: 37 (0.45 per run)
Rare:
Normal: 101 (1.12 per run)
Exceptional: 46 (0.51 per run)
Elite: 47 (0.52 per run)
Set:
Normal: 26 (0.29 per run)
Exceptional: 9 (0.10 per run)
Elite: 4 (0.04 per run)
Unique:
Normal: 18 (0.20 per run)
Exceptional: 10 (0.11 per run)
Elite: 4 (0.04 per run)
So every 12.5 runs I get an elite set or unique item. I'm working on comparing this to Meph runs right now.. which look like they may be better, but TOP end items and exp isn't available in Meph runs.
