Congrats! I'm in a similar position, been sitting on two unexpected Bers (one from Pindle, one from AT) for months now and couldn't do anything with them. Now I get a Mal from the AT sparkling chest which allows me to make either CoH or Infinity. Problem is, now I really want an Enigma. Decisions, decisions...

The Pits had a nice present for me. (found with my skelemancer some time ago)

I also got an Ist from Hell forge, which i'll socket in my Oculus when i ask Larzuk to punch a hole in it.
So, now i have a gul and a vex, my only two "high" runes.
Guess i'll make a Death for a fanazealot some time, or is there a reason to hold on to them?

In 1.13 Vex and Gul aren't exactly "once-in-a-lifetime" items, so don't hold on to them. I would go for a Frenzy Barb (lots of IAS) with Death in an ethereal Berserker Axe (if possible).

'Death' is a great runeword with only one problem, it has no weapon IAS, otherwise it is better than BoTD. But both frenzy and whirlwind don't require any wias on the off hand anyway, therefore it's a perfect choice. Pair it up with fast weapons such as Oath ( cheap ), Beast, Grief, BotD in the mainhand.
Death can also work with some other builds that don't require tons of IAS, such as chargers and berserk barbs ( 2H death weapon, like colossus blade or decapitator ). It is not a very versatile weapon though, it is about the worst you can have for a fury druid, for example.

both whirlwind and frenzy require wias on the offhand. for frenzy it has been wrongful thinking for a long time.
death is great and a zealer can make good use of it. so does a kicker (depending on the base), a furysin and the ones mentioned by zaph

Really? This calculator disagrees with you. I was wrong about whirlwind, but it shows no improvement in frenzy or double swing no matter what the owias is.

Naturally, I am now starting a new poison dagger necro. I'm thinking that 20 Poison Dagger/Poison Nova/CE/Poison Explosion/Curses is a pretty solid way to go. Should be fun!
