OT: What does it mean to you to be part of the SPF?

Means a weird urge to occasionally open a browser, click on the favourites link, and just look even if i don't play nor post much anymore. :(

@ Malachi... i don't want to spoil this thread, but what the heck's your point? It seems like a theme that's constantly stuck with your posts. I was here too. I even had a chance to have a slight go at Apoc Demon once, sided with Spearthrower against some n00bs, first person here to import the MF Olympics over from SPTN, etc, etc.. but so? The old guard's moved on, this place's moved on, other places have moved on. You can find them elsewhere, and if that'll suit you better, please do so.
 
Come now, chaos, let's be nice. So he's been here longer. That's cool with me, really. There's a lot of people who have been here longer, and I respect them for that. And you are right. The "old guard" has moved on. They were, and always will be, a great part of this forum. The thing is, though I'm sure you can find them elsewhere, is it the same there as it was here? I think not.
 
Nope, none of the new places, nor the current SPF, will emulate the 'old' SPF. They've all developed unique identities, pretty much catered to different, more specific tastes, IMHO.

Which i've thought was great for all those D2 communities, who've all had their roots from the old SPF.

Its progressive, its all good, though some may lament for the old days. I'd love it if it were still here, too, but its not. We can choose to see the changes as positive progression, as is in the case of the most, or we can just sit back and grouch about the 'old days', and how sad things are now, whine about zod stories being all fake just cos Darkness and Greybeard aren't here, and saying threads are spam threads cos its not the old SPF. And there are those who just choose to go off, and leave with dignity.

You see my grouse? ;)

There was this thread started by Xisor (who remembers him?) in one of the spin-off forums some time back, about 5 different poster types. (who remembers that??!?!?) One personnae was the continually grouchy, discontent poster, who somehow just stays and keeps posting. ;)
 
I actually started playing SP be4 I even came here, casue I'd had enough of Bnet. Then just scrolling down actually "looking" at other threads I noticed the Single Player forum..hmm, maybe this will be interesting.
And so here I am.:)

The ATMA, and a possible chance to play with some people I know, also the free giveaway to get me on my feet was a nice welcome.

Its a place were others share the love of the game..and I also like to see peoples characters and talking about them, items/skills/adventures/etc.

Its all about fun here..and finnaly I can play the game instead of it playing me anymore. And people who understand that. :thumbsup:

Well my chars still have all their l33t equipment on...I'm actually getting the itch to MF again, considering I've now lost my 1K 'wealth'. This time however, I'll be keeping a "buy over stash" - where I feed the faithful ^^
