OT: Pokémon Go Mini-Bar

How was everyone’s rocket hunting/community day for chimchar? I got stuck at work but caught one shiny that is a two star that I’m waiting on candies to evolve. I’ve beat Sierra and cliff already, but am still in the middle of the Giovanni quest (15 purified...)

December community days I plan to be highly active unless work interrupts. I need more shiny eevees, larvitars, and the recent map I saw has them in raids for two days. Wouldn’t be opposed to a better shiny dratini either.

I didn't have the egg on at the time but learned a while ago that if you close out of the menu and pop into the items list really quick you can still toss one on so I still squeezed it in.

Now all we have to do is get lucky friends and then never be able to trade! :D

I'm still stuck on the 15 shadow Pokemon as well. I don't want to sink the stardust into nothing and the purifieds count as special trades. Since we get two special trades right now I've decided to use one of them for purifieds so it doesn't seem like such a waste. Got a few shiny chimchar. Traded a bunch after and ended up with a 100 non shiny, too bad he's not good in comparison to the other community day Pokemon

I got Giovanni the other day. I've already purified over 300 pokemon, so you can probably guess that the stardust costs aren't a huge concern. Granted, I mostly avoided purifying mon that require 5k dust.

I'm finding swampert and scizor and magnezone to be reallllly good shield breakers vs the leaders

I do tend to stop sending/opening gifts from overseas once best friend. The eggs don't really matter to me, and it's just my luck that overseas/distant friends become Lucky much quicker and more often than locals.
I once tried to quickly open the menu and get to Lucky Egg, but as I was scrolling down, the Best Friend notification popped up over my inventory and beat me. Not a big deal with so much XP potential out there, but it is nice to maximize it when possible.

I finished the Giovanni quest on the 29th, so just got my Shadow Articuno in time. I've found the leaders alright up to Arlo - his Scyther puts out so much damage. Then gave Giovanni a go, and found him so weird. Everyone says go Lucario or Machamp for his first 'mon, and that will be an easy win for you, so I did, and... Neither Giovanni or I got a Charge Move off before my Machamp got knocked out. Maybe unlucky with his fast move, or maybe I picked my wrong Machamp (still level 35+), but he just did so much damage.
Tried again at another Giovanni stop, and it was so much easier, but I said it before: I love the new events!

Has anyone been nominating stops or using the Wayfarer site to review pokestops? I gave it a go, and my first one was a doozy! I was hoping for a nice, safe, happy park, or something gentle to ease myself into what might be out there. To be honest, looking at this first review, I felt stressed out thinking about the location and potential for raids/traffic. And its precise location.

Is anyone interested in seeing potential nominations? Personally, I think it's pretty neat to see local areas, artwork and places, and being able to review them. Even watching some videos of quick nomination reviews to see what is out there. (I've watched some Operation Portal Recon (OPR) videos for Ingress, which were pretty neat, although very slow with maybe a bit too much discussion.)

My first review: 'The Scream' graffiti art, including a description with the original artist and year, as well as a note saying: '24/7 safe access from crossing' (or very similar.) Let's see what you think.

First thought was "What is that?" as the photo framed the right hand box much closer and clearer than the second. Then, as I looked around, I thought the graffiti was pretty cool. Until I noticed it was on Rail/Train-line property. And the idea of a number of cars pulling up around that, and people coming from the opposite direction to get into a raid, perhaps jumping the opposite fence, their GPS drifting, and staring at their phones on a train-line.
Yes, there is somewhat safe access via the street the photo was taken from, but maybe not coming from the opposite direction. I definitely don't think that should be a stop/gym.

What do you mean they use a special trade? Why are you even trading them - all you need to do is purify them and you complete that quest.

BTW if you haven't done Giovanni yet, you've missed out on the November reward and will now get the December reward instead. Once you complete the November quest line, you get a new quest line which is exactly the same.

Yep. Just need to Purify to continue that part of the quest line, but I agree. 3000/5000 Stardust to purify a 'Mon that I'm just sending to the Professor (discarding) is a waste for me, with very limited dust. And the 1000 dust purifiers are so rare now for me, so I am Purifying 1000/3000 dust 'Mon only.

I thought they might vary to quest a little bit (hope they do in the future, ever so slightly even,) but I like the idea of repeating the quest line a couple of times for the new Shadow Legendaries.

I haven't done the wayfarer thing since I'm not level 40 yet. Although according to one of my pogo group members he was marking duplicate stops and he was getting a lot of people disregarding with his review because "most stops is better"

You are right @Jcakes I don't need to trade them. But I hate to sink the 3 or 5k into candy fodder and that's what most of them are. Out of the 100 I've done maybe 3/4 were worth anything. I do the stops when I see them but I don't specifically hunt them. I rather do a raid and get something useful any day.

I've onyl done ~10 review in wayfarer, and I've created 5ish new PoIs. One became a local ex-gym (lucky me!) and another a local stop. The rest are mostly near busy-enough areas already but I felt it was worth trying, anyway.

I've also tried nominating some local trail but without a sign it will just keep being rejected :(

I've got a friend who thinks along the lines of "More [stops] is better," but I don't feel that's the case. (I sent him a couple of photos from the above train-line nomination to share the first Review I gave, and will see if he likes the spot later in the morning.)

I like exploring the stops in the area, and actually seeing something new. I've nominated a few so far, and learnt about our local area; just as I would like to click on a random stop in a random area, and learn or see something new.

- In the 1950's, before our area was fully developed, locals would often head down to our creek to do laundry. (I nominated and it got passed.)
- After WW2, European immigrants would meet on the bend of the same creek, and set up a market for the area, thus beginning to create a community. (I nominated, but someone else got their nomination passed first.)
- An exercise station is actually an art/exercise installation to commemorate the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. (Currently pending.)

I've nominated a few more, but am realistic. Some may meet the criteria, but are pretty lousy, while others would be awesome spots with historical/cultural/community value. Just have to wait for others to review them.

I will try nominating more, but I was surprised by that first one. Didn't expect to be put in the deep end. XD
