well theres the world preview of guild wars. 29 to the 31st.

the stuff on gamespot about guild wars is fascinating. the pvp mechanics sound a lot better than the ones in WoW actually.

and the speaker for GW actually took a shot at WoW by saying something like: we reward the players by their playing skill and not by the time they've been playing. unlike some games where you cut wood and gain skill points and then some day make a chair.

I didn't say you can't stray from the formula when making an RPG, just that its not easy to do well. Arcanum ended up beening a bit slow and linear for me :/ Never got to the end of it, partly cause I messed up my first guy through not understanding the system and partly cause my second guy was going through the exact same story (albeit with different dialogue) and I got bored.

My posts are really long of late cause I post so rarely, so I'm doing three days worth of posting at a time.

Anyway, I'm gonna post a random screenie and change my avatar...

And yes, I painted both sides. So anyone who is familliar with the W40K universe can gripe at me later for not having offical team colours on either side.

Omg, do you play Warhammer 40k Bob?
I used to play when i was like in Gr.7, i got like a 500point army ~~;
Blood Angels all the way, what a fun / tactical game!


EDIT: What game is that in your screenshot? I'd like to buy it as most Warhammer 40k games are awesome!
Pleeeease tell me ~

EDIT2: Ok Dawn of War is apparently the name (duh, guess i can't read..)
Anyways, is this downloadable? or do i have to buy it?

Way to make them look like Space Wolves. Make them look like This or like These with heavy weapons.

And you keep loosing to the good old Rhino Rush. They must not have the 4th edition rules in the game yet.

Yes I used to play with the minatures too. Its fun, and those pictures are of real life models that someone painted.


I wanna play Guild Wars now.

I had (well still have haven't played in ~2 years) 1500 points of Eldar, ~1000 of Dark Eldar, and ~1000 of Scaven.

and its not team >< Call em armies.

I might post some of my minatures, maybe tomorrow.

Maybe i miss counted, but i think i have more than what i said in points =/
And what i meant by team, was if you played Spacemarines, did you play Blood Angels or Dark Angels or like Ultramarines?!

Oh, how i have longed to play another game... i used to have a HUGE board like the size of two pool tables put together, but it slowly deteriated (huh?) and i had to burn it... i still have all the terrain i built though.
Pretty decent game it is ~
 
aw man my friends bought the new warhammer game and says it ownzors so ill have to check it out next time in at his place
 
TeK: Yep, it's called Dawn of War, it's by THQ and yeah, you have to buy it :p The official game website is here and it has alot of links to other sites under the "comunity links" section.

I always wanted to play warhammer 40k when I was younger, but never had the cash supply it really demanded. Plus not living that close to town ment I really wouldn't get much chance to play even if I had had the money.

They look a little like Space Wolves, but different primary and trim colours. I like the way the colours work on the force ommander, but apart from that the scheme is a bit bland. Though I prefer it to some of the garish things I've seen online and in replays.

The minatures from the tabletop game always look kick-***. I doubt my painting skills would really have been up to scratch :spy:

Space Wolves
My Space Marines (I know thats a chaos badge and an Ultra Marine banner, but they were the ones I had that looked best so :p )
Hell Bovines ;) (The badge/banner are based on the symbol of Spitfire Wheels, it took me a while to get them how I wanted and I know the badge looks crap there, but the idea is it only shows up when its on a white background.)
World Eaters (the team I'd go if I couldn't choose my own colours, though I did edit the colours on these guys to give them a bit more depth.)
Sons of Amel (another colour scheme by me, with banner/badge I downloaded. And I know Amel isn't one of the Chaos gods, it's a name lifted from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.)

Nothing that bad, it just used a word(paid lady...) when referring to the the thread maker. I thought it was kind of a funny way to remind that other OT threads than this one are forbidden until furthen notice or something...
