OT: First Titan Quest report
OK. Promised you guys I would let you know how my experiences with the new game and PC worked out and so here we go.
First the new PC. 3 ghz, 1 G ram, 256mb card (can't remember which).
The game:
The movement is very similar to Dii. It feels a little funny and you can zoom in & out but the perspective takes a little getting used to.
The graphics are great & I am only running the video settings on medium; will try them higher soon.
The combat is also similar to Dii; although the monsters will chase you a lot further if you run.
The leveling and placing of the skill & stat points are similar but there is a much greater variety of ways to build your character and 2 masteries available for each character, you can choose from 8.
I have read up on a few builds and am playing probably one of the most proven builds for success and thus far am doing well.
I have read online about a lot of the problems that other folks are having with the game but after installing it and the two patches I am very happy with the way the game is playing. I have dropped once in about 3 hours of playing and that may have been because I hit a bad key.
I do think you need a PC with stats equal to mine to play without problems and believe that is where others are screwing up.
Well that's it for now. The game is fun so far and I have hopes it will replace the Dii addiction I have had for so long. There are a few things I would change about it but hell, there are a few things I would change about Dii too. My most recent experiences in Dii have had me fighting lag and a few TPPKers and I don't have that problem here so at least that is an improvement. Anyway I will let you guys know by the end of the weekend, if my wife will let me really play; what I think about the game being a good buy and substitute for Dii.
