OT: Days of our Lives aka the Beacon's Billboard

@silosphen, yeah I totally love the movie. I have been a zombie fan for years now and this one has to be the best made to date in my opinion. It comes close to the original Dawn of the Dead.

@Rizza, glad to hear about your weekend. Your descriptions have inspired me to take my wife and dogs out somewhere for the weekend in the wild. I will try and find a good place to go in the next few days. I appreciate that.

We call them shooting stars.

@ RoninDOG: I haven't watched the original dawn of the dead, is it worth watching? I saw day of the dead...It was pretty cliched, but i enjoyed it all the same. Bit of a no-brainer.

@silo - The original Dawn of the Dead is where most zombie movies get thier inspiration. Day of the Dead blows for the most part but Dawn of the Dead, IMO is one of the best movies of all time. It really depends on what kind of taste you have. Its got a touch of the B movie in it because it was so low budget and its not near as humorous or entertaining as Shaun of the Dead, but all in all it gives a good interpretation of what people would do if there was a zombie armageddon. If you find you have some free time I would check it out although you may not like it if your into fast pased humor/action found in most movies today.

Nah, im not too much of a fast passed humor/action fan. I prefer slower films with twists etc. Ill see if i can get hold of it off one of my friends. Or i could just rent it.

Oh my!!! Props to all who made this thread happen.

@AE - My opinion of you just went up 1,000% (not that my opinion matters)
I understand that as a forum admin you have to do all the dirty work.
I'm glad to see you get to partake in some of the good things also.
After all it was the dailies that got me into this mess in the first place.
Again just to AE :worship:

@Rizzo - Thank you for being there to make this happen. To you m8 :drink:
to anyone who is reading - Rizzo is the fresh perspective on life
out side of D2 (don't get me wrong we all know D2 is life  )

@roninDog - Thanks for befriending me and making me feel important to this
community. I am looking forward to our hours of MP together.

@MethodOne - Thanks for providing the inspiration for this thread (May it be
the best)

@SPF Community - the best on the web, period.

Now people, this is not a movie discussion ;)

I have a problem actually that I'd like second viewpoints on, though I guess I already know what to think about it. I haven't the time to go into it now however, but I will post it tomorrow when I'm off duty. I hope some of you could give me ideas what to do about it... It has to do with my brother. Won't say anything more now, because I have work to do, and am quite busy  I'll check in tomorrow tho. See ya then guys!

Hey people, great work on gettin a thread were we can talk bout problems and stuff. to all you guys that made it happen.

In my life, things couldnt go worse, my life at the minute is all homework and stuff. No time for Diablo :(

PS: Dawn of the dead rocks! Shawn of the dead is also a great film, dont get me wrong, but Dawn of the dead is the BEST zombie film ever made :)

hmmmm a dedicated OT thread  (j/k) i'll be good and stop the spamming
oh and a big thanks for all the people that made it happen :buddies:

i haven't been on in the last couple of days. my computer has been screwy and this is the first chance ive had at school to get on a comp.
my last lot of high school exams start next week and drag out over approx the next month. woopie-doo. so im going to have even less free-time. specially now as my gf is starting to freak from the ''pressure'' shes a high strung type and her family expects a hell of alot from her so she in turn expects alot from herself. so shes stressing.*gets ready to trout her*

@method: good to see your lives starting to look up. just dont look so high you fall over.(try starring straight up for awhile)

have a good one all :drink:

Hey, I was mentioned in the open-up posting, so I decided I should write few kind spamming words around.
Well, I don't expect I'll be the most regular visitor of such a thread, I'm just not the kind of person to share my problems. Even in RL I prefer to deal by myself with what happens to come in the way. But of course, you can always depend on me to drop around your thread and make some mess, just for the sport of it. :innocent:

Ooooh, new shiny thread for our own Mr. Bacon, I mean Dr. Phil. The dailies will be back to one page, then.

I'll be dropping in every now-and-then to see that you behave yourselves and write a few comments on what's going on.

@Rizzo, I quess this is where we will find you from now on?
@Method, nice to see you back on track. Hope that your future will be much brighter than your past. :)
@ronin, I sent you PM, did you get it?

Have not been on an OT thread in a while so I guess this is my chance.

My Random thoughts:

1. Biltong is good
2. Need sleep as my son has an ear infection and is a bit difficult to catch up on my sleep when he is screaming at the top of his voice. (Man, he has a set of lungs on him, takes after his dad :surprise:) I hope he will be feeling better soon.
3. Need to get back into the Diablo swing of things, maybe this evening if Donavan is feeling better.
4. Wife is back at work after 4 months maternity leave. She was not very happy in the beginning, and I cannot blame her, but at least Donavan is enjoying his time with the Day Mother
5. Need to buy a house, but property is to expensive, are countries property prices so High? I mean sheesh, a house the size of a dog kennel will cost you an arm and a leg.

Anyway, enough of me, give the others a chance.

Cheers

´Heh, no offence man, but I wish my only problem was that I had no time for d2, or maybe "stuff" is evil things?

Yeah no kidding. I'd be happy to swap problems with you :D

Olala, back from a nice day in Kolding, the city where my beloved girl lives. Not really what you bigcity folks would call a city.. around 60000 inhabitants, but it's in the top 10 in Denmark :fish: I had a day off today so after work last evening I felt like visiting. It's only a one hour train ride anyways so what the heck. Besides, she's so lovely, I couldn't resist hehe.

A great day it is today by the way. Have you noticed it? I could just stand outside right now and let the wind caress my face with it's cold chill. Ahh I love the fall. The colors!! Have you ever really watched the forests in the fall? I think they are absolutely beautiful. So many colors the nature holds. Unbelievable...

So many posts to reply to! Let's get to it...
First of all a thank to all of you thanking me for making this thread. I didn't do it by myself though so give credit to the ones I thanked too. I did write it though...

Corax: Sounds like your gf is stressing out alot. Understandable with the family she haves. That must really be annoying. I understand that parents have ambitions for their children, but there has to be a limit. They should never push her to do things she doesn't want to. I think.... Can we get some parental advice here? How do you parents feel about this subject?

Amalthea: Sharing your problems is one thing, sharing your thoughts about other peoples problems is another. Help us out here you! :p

Holypade: You betcha! I'll be here all week.. and then some!

Quatrain: Where do you live mate?

Milamber: stfu j00 sp4mzzorr!!11! :D

Solo & Dolph: Maybe you should share your mind with us, let us know what bothers you... sometimes it helps just to say it. I do agree on your posts tho. BeMindFul must be one happy person! Homework can be a bugger sometimes though

I'm so sorry to hear that. Was that what was worrying you the other day? It's sad when it comes so close... I remember once, when I still lived at my fathers house. My dad is a doctor (leading specialist in genetics in Denmark, professor and has even been knighted) and in the neighborhood where we lived people could sometimes stop by and ask what this and that could be.. minor illnesses and the likes. One day I woke up from a pounding on the front door. It was like 7 am and I went out and opened the door. A woman, one of our distant neighbors, panicly yelled for my dad, said he should come quickly because something was wrong with her daughter, Sofie. I went to get my dad out of his bed and he and my brother quickly followed the woman to her house. Her daughter was already dead when they arrived, her skin spotted from the disease she was carrying; meningitis (sp?). Sofie was a student on the school I went to, and I had known her since the first grade.

You get scared when things happen this close to you I think. I tried to distance myself from the events, pretend it never happened. It's funny how a person can deny reality. Refuse to understand the situation. I think that has always been my problem.
