Thanks, everyone. Now we're home, since yesterday afternoon, and everyone is healthy but tired, and mini-Maltatai of course wondering what the heck is going on with his parents coming home with some new little creature all of a sudden. To his great credit he is clearly uncomfortable with the situation but hasn't shown any resentment towards Matilda for it. When you think of it, it's a lot fairer than many adults act.
I've had to do some deep thinking lately about my career. Student loans are killing me. I thought that if I do ten years I could have my loans forgiven through the public service workers loan forgiveness program. Trump stated he wants to do away with the program and his Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, is actively trying to abolish the program. I'm going to have to make a career change well before that 10 year mark if I want to survive.
I interviewed with the electrical union in KC for an apprenticeship program. The starting pay is higher than what I make now with guaranteed overtime. I'm on a waiting list right now but I'm praying that they call me soon. I'm 28 now and my resolve is steadily slipping. Hard to be hopeful for the future with this current administration. We're important when POTUS can parade us around like his lapdogs and then shows us we're not deserving.
Here's hoping 2020 is better.
