i never got the chance to play original diablo. Might have to get a demo some time. Not now though if the ladder reset is really coming

I wish more witty things were in D2. Well, there is that old man in act 3. If you go back after killing Baal in the level he says something like "I'm so happy I think my face is going to crack."

Gladiator's Bane, Arkaine's Valor, Harlequin Crest, Stormshield, Eaglehorn, Windforce, Cranium Basher, Schaeffer's Hammer, Doombringer, The Grandfather, and Lightsabre along with many others were all unques in diablo 1.

LS was no unique in diablo. The max lvl i got was 39 and I played that game alot

i remember the griswold sword you got from his quest and how every good thing he sold was like real expensive and the fact that it didnt reset until you lvled and how when you save the game you would start back up again in the same spot you saved, for some reason i saved it in like a corner and everytime i got back on i would die it took me a while but i got around it
 
max lvl was 50 btw (got all 3 chars to lvl 50 with max spells (enchanted shrines anyone?))
heh, i do remember the search for hidden shrines, to get Thinking Cap's dura up....after i while, i got whispered by clan members who found a hidden shrine, and my dreamflange had like 139 durab after a while (repaired it with warrior once)

ah, all those memories.
i knew i played too much when i finally got my sorc to wear 2 legit perfect dragons rings of wizardry (+60mana+30magic) ^^

I don't know if this is alowed but the lurkerlounge used to have the expansion(and other mods) freely available if you so wish. I also the demo might be there, not sure though.

btw: go go archbishops staff of apoc lol

I liked my bountiful staff of apoc with 36 charges. I used it around Diablo's room to clear out the riffraff before opening it up.
