atma error question

hey, im having a problem loading one of my stashes. its all my good uniques and sets too so it sucks. the first time i got a error message pop up when i tried to open it, but it opened (i think the error said something like PH). But they atma stopped responding and closed. Now i can use all of my atma stuff cept this one stash. and when i try to open it this error message shows up in the bottom:

C:Diablo II\latteritems.d2x: Bad file size (0)
Unable to load stash file

any help would be greatly appreciated.

What that error says is that the stash has nothing inside of it. I'd suggest checking the actual file of it to see if it is really 0 kbs (it has nothing in it) If so, I'd try renaming latteritems_1.org to something .dsx (for instance, rename it by right clicking on the file in windows and hit rename, to diablo.d2x.) Hopefully that will at least get most of your items back.

@Luca Rescigno: Can you send me some of the characters / stashes that do not load with R0.16 ?

That way I can test if they work with the newer version.

Randall

PS.
You do make regular backups/copies right ?

I do, but probably not often enough. Moving my save folder to and from my flash drive can be a pain sometimes, but only because my flash drive is very slow when transferring large numbers of files, even when those files are tiny.

Of course, GoMule is constantly making backup files on its own, and luckily I'm still able to open the files in 0.15. It's just 0.16 that I'm having trouble with.

Anyway, you should get the files from me momentarily.

Thanks, I will check my mail

2 small points though:

1) zipping the save folder not only decreases size, it makes just one file instead of many. (much more easy copying from and to flash disks)

2) for this beta testing you can leave most backups on your normal harddisk. Personally I zip the save folder and leave the zip where it was created, in the D2 dir. (I just rename the zip files). In this case you are creating quick backups for program errors, not for HD crashes. (it makes backing even faster)

EDIT: still put some on the flash stick for HD crashes, just not the many you create for testing gomule.

Randall

Durr, I didn't even think of that. Okay, I'm going to start zipping my save folder and making copies every few days (or maybe every day I find good stuff).

Ats

So I'm finally starting to play 1.10a, and I was wondering how the ATS program works? Has anyone ever used it?

I started it up and it looks almost like ATMA itself, so how do I actually convert 1.10a items to 1.10s items? Also how can convert 1.10s items to 1.11b items, or can I just convert items from 1.10a to 1.11b straight?

It would really help if someone could answer these questions, thanks. I'm gonna do a bit of searching to see if this has come up before.

Once again, thanks loads, Randall, for the wonderful GoMule! I'm getting my stashes more sorted out than ever and I have noticed a few "No display for property xxx" fields:

197 on Rainbow Facets,
73 on Baranar's Star, Bloodtree Stump, Duriel's Shell
198 on Guardian Naga, Hand of Blessed Light, Laying of Hands
151 and 52 on Azurewrath

A few other comments:

1) It would be great to have a way of deleting items in GoMule. When sorting, I end up with poor rares and other miscellany that I want to get rid of and as far as I know, there isn't an easy way of deleting an item there. I make a stash called junk.d2x and move items there, and then just delete the file. But it would be great for there to be a more straightforward way.

2) A text dump of the item properties of a stash, character or everything in a project would be great, as mentioned earlier. In particular, it would be great to do that for a big stash and then it would be easier to spot the "No display for property xxx" items like the ones I mention above.

3) Is there any way to remove a stash or a character from a project inside GoMule? I figured out how to do it in a convoluted way by editing the project.properties file, but it would be better to be able to remove some when consolidating stashes, for example.

4) The problem with rainbow facets getting grouped into one type has been mentioned before. Is this a problem with Flavie's grail110.dat file? I don't think that file is included in the current distribution of either GoMule or Flavie, so I may be using an old obsolete version of that.

Keep up the great work! I'll go find the sourceforge location for comments and try to put these comments there as well.

I've fixed the No display property errors (There may be 1 or 2 still about) and so these will be sorted in teh next release.

I am having a problem with ATMA, and it is really beginning to bother me:

I can browse my stashes, characters, and stuffs.
I can see the item I want to move.
I can't move it. At all. It just doesn't get clicked on. The cursor is on the item, it will not get selected, which means I can't move it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hold the mouse button down while moving it.

@purplelocust:
- silospen is doing the work for the display info right now
1) deleting items, I'll look into how to do this.
2) Text dumps, will be looked into at some point of time
3) deleting char/stash from project view. Select the char/stash and press the "delete" key. (As there is no "Del" key on a mac, the next version also supports the "Backspace" key)
4) It has to do with the fact that for facets we need to now more about what item it is before we can put it in the correct category, so it is/was connected to the missing display info. (Each facet is a unique jewel with the name "Rainbow Facet")

Great, thanks for the info and thanks again to you and silospen for doing such a great job with it!

I looked at the sourceforge page and put some more comments there, mostly about various other possible selection info (ethereal, unidentified, requirements, elite, and so on.)

Another thing I noticed is that the base damage and base defence of items isn't displayed. Normally that isn't something I care about, but for the purposes of the perfect grail, for example, that is something that is good to be able to see!

A dream would be to have the "perfect grail" data incorporated, but that would be a huge amount of work, I would think!

Thank you for putting it on the site, that's very helpful.

If I wasn't drunk last night, the armour and damage stuff would be fixed, it is the next thing on my list :)

Here's a pretty nasty bug in the latest version (r016) when you play as necromancer. The problem is when your necro has an iron golem and then quits D2 while the iron golem remains summoned. When you try to open your necro in GoMule it gives you this error:

Error

Item not read complete, missing bits: 31 (Stormspire, 0xa18f2d26)
<SNIP>
It says "Stormspire" regardless of what item the iron golem was created with, but the biggest problem is that GoMule won't open the character until you open the game and unsummon the iron golem.

@Randall/Silospen: Minor display issue - "of Sustenance" items read "of Subsistence"

Can you (or someone else) spell out for me what to do? I can't delete on the Mac, and this would help me tidy up a few trade stashes.

GoMule is programmed to work with the "Del" key on PCs, and not the Backspace key. The equivalent key on the Mac is the forward-delete key - on a desktop, it's located right above the arrow keys, and on a notebook you just press Fn-Delete.

Took me a while to figure this one out as well, but a lot of cross-platform software works the same way, like Excel (Backspace/Mac Delete works differently from Delete/Mac Forward Delete).
