Most embarrassing death?

I'm talking about anything, not just HC. What's the dumbest or most embarrassing death you've had in your time playing D2?

I had a really dumb one recently. I was poisoned really badly in the Claw Viper temple. After clearing a room, my health dropped to 1hp and stayed there even when I drank a potion. So, instead of being smart and casting a TP, I ran around the room picking up gold piles and healing potions, hoping the poison duration would wear off and I could keep going. I opened a trapped chest and didn't get out of the way in time, and the fire killed me. On top of that, I hadn't cast a TP anywhere and the closest waypoint was in the Dry Hills.

There are always those times when I'm surrounded and I see my health getting low, but I don't hit the button quickly enough to drink a full rejuv potion and so I die. Those are always dumb, especially since half the time I press the button just a little too late, so I hear the potion sound and it disappears from my inventory, but of course it doesn't do anything because I'm dead.

So, spill it! What stupid things have you done to get yourself killed? Mauled to death by a quill rat? Forgot to pause and got slaughtered by Fallen? Forgot to use a healing potion when using Sacrifice?
 
I died to a CE fallen. My necro had taken a few hits, and I should have used a pot on him, but I thought I was alright. Since my cold resistance was in the negatives he hit a lot harder than I expected. It's mostly just embarassing that I died to a fallen. :(
 
Well, this happened to me today. I was running LK and teled in one of the houses near the bonfire. I popped the chest, and lots of gold went out. I saw those little leapers coming in. I decided to stay and pick up all the gold - Bad choice. It turned out that it was a boss pack, with Might aura and Curse. I thought my merc could handle them, so there I was picking up the gold. Merc died in two secs and I went to Hell with him very soon. I have no idea why did I think that my merc could handle that boss pack:tongue:
 
my most recent death was yesterday... i was questing with my lvl56 WW Barb, at Halls of the Dead lvl2 i saw a champion pack of Hollow Ones, i leaped on them and WW till they die, but a ghostly hollow one didn't die and lots of skeletons. my mana dropped to zero because of WW, those ghostly monsters unleechable with manald heal :rolleyes: i drank a full reju and tried my last chance... leap to safety! but hollow one's missile attack killed me before i land :cry:
 
Dumbest death: getting poked to death by Baal's tentacle.
Seriously, who (besides noob AJK) dies to Baal these days?

General stupid behavior: sticking around boss packs when your merc goes poof in two seconds flat.
 
Worst i've had was when i was in NM nith with my pali.

went to press 2 to drink a juvie, hit w by accident and was trying to kill nith and all his friends with a wand and no shield. by time was able switch back, it was too late......thankfully I'm too chicken to play HC....

Lol, I know what are you talking about, even if I manage to get out I get killed by charge few seconds later... :laughing:



 
Most embarrassing... hmm, maybe it is the very first death in the whole game. The first time I was playing d2 with a friend of mine. Now, act 1 rakanishu. A friend told me to look out because it was quite difficult and dangerous enemy and what happened. Of course I got myself killed because of the sparks. :embarassed:

There are also other dumb deaths but that was the first one. :tongue:
 
at Bnet I once died because of Baal's traps with a hammerdin. It was a p8 game and we were doing full clear of the WSK. I was just standing back waiting and getting exp while watching tv. Suddenly I died because of Baal's trap at WSK2.
Everybody got the message: *nameofchar* got killed by Baal and everybody started flaming at me that we were doing full clear, so I should wait for others before going to Baal. lolz
 
I've been killed by a normal quill rat. It doesn't get much lower than that.

Unless of course, you manage to get killed by "An Evil Force" in Durance 3. After killing Mephisto.
 
First thing that comes to mind is when I fall asleep for 30 seconds or so over the computer and I hear in the distance "Ahhhhhh!" and then I wake up, stare at the screen and it says "You have died ..."

Great, just great. Time to go to bed when that happens.
 
Oh yeah, I remember one time being killed by that Evil Force. Also, one time I was killed by a Fallen after killing Andariel. I was trying to get to the town portal that opens up and I was poisoned, and the little guy snuck up on me!
 
Ha ha, those are some creative ways to die. I expected more Fire towers, lightning spires, scimitars, fire shrines, and so on :wink3: No deaths from Blood Hawk nest bosses? FE CE Teleport would be a nasty combination.

I died once to a single Spawner mother and her babies in the River of Flame. I pressed Esc to answer the door, at least I thought I pressed Esc :rolleyes:
 
My most embarassing deaths were both from D1 where I was killed by a barrel and by my own firewall.

In D2 I tend to play really cautious so I get a lot of stupid NDE's, but make it out in time. I guess my worst deaths always come with sorc's when I forget Teleport is hotkeyed and land right in the middle of a nasty boss pack. I've also killed off a couple zealots because I always ignore the fact that he will be standing in place for a while during his attacked. I've cooked one or two in infernos, and I think I took one out while wailing on a LE/FE boss.
 
Oh, Mephisto's evil force and Baal's WSK are typical.......even after you have known about them, you can still forget about them after not playing for a long time :|
 
The fires in Catacombs lvl 4 after killing Andy while still being poisoned attempting to pick up an elite armor that dropped there.

When I just started that zombie boss (Corpsfire?) in the Den of Evil at normal difficulty had the nasty habbit of killing my young sorcs on /players 8.

Been there, done that... You know, poisoned, 1 hp left; Meph already dead so teleing to the portal, and then...

Today was great too. Got killed by a normal pack of horrors in NM act 3 sewers and then twice while fetching the body. I felt pretty stupid.



 
hmmm I don't know how many times I died today while I was being rushed. Everytime I die, I just try to go back and get my corpse then I usually die a few more times before I wait for it to be cleared. And I don't know how many times that happened today... :shocked:
