Mmmm smell that beatiful untwinked action

Hey guys, I'm back. I'm sure most (if not all) of you won't remember me or know who I am, but suffice to say that I am playing again.

I want to start up an untwinked team, preferably on US East (but I'm willing to play on the server of choice, so long as someone can assist me through the normal difficulty in softcore.)

Now for the bad news, there are limits as to what characters to play as; I'm not too fond of most cookie cutter builds where a single player will dominate our game play. Mostly I'm interested in getting/finding a group that wants to play as a team. So if anyone has any character they've wanted to play as but didn't want to because it'd be too one dimensional now is the time.

So if anyone has any interest in playing feel free to say so.

I'd like a general idea of what character you'd like to play as, because if need be I will do nearly any support role.

That being said, my character of choice would be an Enchantress or some type of Barbarian (haven't really looked into the Barb forums for good ideas,) but like I said I'll change that if the group is lacking in a certain area.

So if you're interested in this let's try and get some people together and if there are more than 8 responses (people wanting to play) we can have 2 or more teams organized. All remaining details can be discussed once the team(s) is together.

As for the untwinked group, I'm interested but I'm going to hold off on commiting myself until a day/time to meet starts to get hashed out.

Thanks for that tip, I've read that sticky a few times, but never read the additional posts.

*Edit - I'm having problems making that registry change work.
Specifically: 5) Double click on the file, select yes you do want to add the information, and OK afterwards
I'm not being offered that option. I created it on the desktop as said, when I double click the file it opens another one. Help?

As for day/time, I personally can't do it on Wednesday or Thursday nights (7 pm EST or later) because I have two poker games I play in with friends.

It sounds to me like you've named the file incorrectly with .txt at the end.

right click on it and choose "re-name" and then make sure the file is called "allowhc.reg" exactly (except without the quotes). Its important that it end with .reg or your computer will simply see it as a text file and open it as one, rather then seeing it as a registry file (which is what you want).

p.s. I could play almost any night, but it couldn't be earlier then 9 EST, and most people don't like starting that late.
 
I followed those instructions including naming it right to the letter. Some very nice person when I was in op xbananax made me an account with a HC character on it, so its all good now.

Starting that late would be great for me. In a couple more days I'll see if there has been additional interest, if not, the two of you guys that have replied and myself could do a trio.
 
Id probly join you guys but i have dayly obligations(male prostitution ^^) after 10pmeast. Consider me tenative.. as a mele assasin *gg*
 
If you don't mind accepting someone who have not played a lot in HC, I'd like to join you guys. I'm self-employed and work from home but play mainly late in the evenings and at night.

About my char .. well.. I mostly play melee or summoners in SC but I'm open to suggestions
 
Well, looks like there is enough interest to start hashing out some meeting times.

I don't care how often we play, so it'll be up to the contingency.

If everyone could kindly list the days/times they are free.
Myself (no time listed means w/e):
Sunday
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday (before 6 pm)
Thursday (before 6 pm)
Friday
Saturday

Yep, lots of free time.
 
I can play pretty much anytime, except:

- before 10AM (I doubt it's an issue, but ... :P)

- between 6PM and 7ishPM

And if a client contact me for something .. but i'll let you guys know :D

I don'T think we're in any rush to begin (althought I can only talk for myself) so you don'T need to worry:smiley:
 
Yeah I imagine this won't be together for a few more days. I'm just trying to get the ball rolling on finding a good meeting time.
 
1) I'm currently at my parents house for the summer, and we have Dial-up. This means people want to use the phone at normal times, so:

The later the better for me (ie. 9 or later is excellent.)

2) It also means that only one computer on the internet at a time, so:

If my mother or father is on the Internet on their computer I wont be able to make it/will be late.

3) Once a week would work really well for me, more often then that and it will become a chore, and chores aren't fun.

4) I have a g/f whom I hang out with lots! She knows I am addicted to this game, and that I play with people at organized times a lot and she is fine with this, so:

If our meeting time could be constent it would work out excellent for me... and my relation ship with my g/f. Ie. Tuesday nights @ 9pm.

So that is what I have to deal with. I vote for Tuesday nights @ 9pm. Its quite possible that I wont be able to make it from time to time due to someone else using the internet/phone line, etc.

Back to the topic ... I'm fine with the idea of having a fixed day and time

Same here

I was reading a bit on hc play (need to refresh my old memories) and what do you consider cookie-cutter builds? Those you'd like to avoid?

For efficiency, fun and survaval issues, I guess we'll ahve to have a mix of characters. But are you ok with lets say a summoner necro (good party curses, meat (undead) wall, security blanket for the casters?

I'm just trying to build my char ahead of time (in my head that is :grin: )
 
Hi guys i'm interested. i'm on useast hc ladder etc and will do any build

tuesdays at 9EST sounds good, though most other times are acceptable for me

i'd defintely like to be in on this. tuesdays @ 9 p.m. EST would work out really well for me. assuming there is still an open spot in the group i'd like to play a blade fury based assassin. might i suggest a list of those in the next post or two of those who have committed to tuesdays @ 9 and what char. they would be playing?
