"Maximum level in act1" - character

Since Im bored with trying to find Ist and shako im gonna do a new char with the goal of reaching the highest possible level in act 1 normal. Highest Ive ever been before in act 1 is 20 but my hopes are that Ill be able to get to at least 25. Im thinking about using fireball sorc since she got teleport and does huge damage with FB, especially with leaf :P. Any input or suggestions on where or how I should gain levels after 20, are very appreciated. And is there a level cap also that i havnt heard of, which will make this really less funny :P?

Theres no cap, but there is a point when you wont gain any noticeable EXP from anything other than andy, and past about 21-22 she wont give anything good either.
However, i agree, a fire based sorc will be best. teleport to andy and kill her with fb. with her -50 fire res it'll get very easy after a while. Boring as hell though.
After you get to a certain level, you should then go see how high you can get just in act 2. Duriel runs! :p

Argh, a cap just had to exist, oh well. Ur idea about maximizing in act 2 when im done with andy sounds like a great idea though :D. Hmm I think im gonna go and make my sorc right now :P.

Its not a cap, its just that you will earn less and less EXP from the monsters as you get higher up the levels, and you'll be needing more EXP to advance. i'd say 25 is possible without entering act 2.

Possible, but extremely boring. Even when I hit lvl 20 in act 1 I start to get almost 0 experience. That said, best of luck to ya puffen. You'll need it.

Thereoretically you can hit level 99 in Act I Normal, it will just take a few decades. You get one experience per kill at minimum, so technically it is possible. However, as Farting Bob said, after a while it is no longer practical.

I have a level 19 Zealot who just got to Act II. I bet 20 is feasible without too much boredom. That was on /players8, killing most monsters, repeating some areas, and hunting down all the uniques/champions. It was slow near the end, however. Still, I was not really going for experience, I was just playing through, so it was not all that boring.

Level 27 is probably reasonable for Act II.

Going through act 1 with fists has already been done (mongojerry) and i wanna test something new :P. Just watched some wc3 replays but now im off to make my fire sorc :D

Hey chubby, your a silver pal already? join the exclusive club, which features (amoung others) me and silospen.
Anyway, if your going for mass killing of normal monstwers, why not a shockadin (max holy shock, walk around for a bit until things die. also holy freeze is very useful for this.)

Puffen: I got my hammerdin Bob to lvl 25 doing Cathedral runs looking for low TC uniques/sets. It was really boring, but didn't take *too* long, so it is possible. Though at that point Bone Ash and uniques/champions (of which there are many) were giving me experience.

Good luck!

This isn't such a far out goal. Especially for those who insist on finishing the TC3 items for their grail. You're bound to find one or two running Act I over and over.

I actually plan to run act I Normal with my Telsadin loaded to bear with magic find. His shock should probably kill off most stuff on players 8 before I even get a chance to swing.

Code:
Experience Penalty (monster level vs. player level)

mlvl - plvl 10+ 9 8 7 6 -5 to 5 -6 -7 -8 -9 -10+
% Exp penalty 5% 15% 36% 68% 88% 100% 81% 62% 43% 24% 5%

There was a Bnetter who posted last year about getting to level 70 in Normal. Did nothing but Baal runs.

I'd recommend doing runs of all the superuniques (get maps with good access to Rakanishu/Grizwald and the big beasts at the magic tree). Run those guys, then stop by the cathedral to kill that green skeletor dude, and then go to the Catacombs and go get Andariel. I don't know that the lower ones will give you much experience, but you might get some cool low-level uniques out of the bargain.

Level 70 shouldn't be that difficult, I have done 60 quite a lot of times, and I was still earning tremendous experience at that point.

Yeah, I know the forum is a free service, but me using it costs the admins money. I may as well help out.

Shockadin is for lazy people. Maybe I should try it? :D

I think the fact that you will still be developing your character the whole time will make things a little less boring. Compare getting to lvl 30 in a1 normal to getting to lvl 99, and it doesn't seem so impossible anymore :)

My Druid that takes part in "A Quick Tournament III" has killed Andariel when he was lvl 18. All I did to delay my movement were 24 Countess runs to get a Tal rune for a Stealth armour ;)
Currently he is lvl 26 (close to 27) and has done full clears on p8 up to WP Canyon. He has not repeatedly run through any area in act 2. I am sure I will get lvl 27 when I clear all the tombs...

so there should be a higher level possible than 27 for act 2...

Yes, ive had many cahracters wait until lvl 18 before taking on andy, if they have a important skill available at 18 and sturggle to kill without it, then they wait. My first character ever got to lvl 28 before even seeing duriel, but that was because i was a n00b and cleared 4 of the false tombs first by mistake. I didnt realise that there are 7 of them and only 1 has duriel in.

Telsadin or firadin would be the best choices to get to clvl 99 playing in normal only.

The 5% clause will make it very hard but you will never get less than 1 experience point per kill. experience shrines, +% experience weapons and higher players settings will help but not that significantly, expect a lot of time and boring boring runs. If you want I can give you an elite club and cube and you can reroll the club until it drops +elemental skills club of fissure.

Good luck, I think the highest I ever finish act 1 was 22, and that was due to running countess many many times.
