Thoughts

Well, not very much to say here. He was played under the same restrictions as my meleemancer - No skeletons, revives, CE, no vitality, players 5 hell. He did very well and nothing was really a problem. Two deaths. Tactics were, amp everything, slap down strategic bone walls, kill everything.

Some comments on itemization. Since this character doesn't get hit too much, bone armor isn't too useful and it doesn't get overwritten by chilling all the time, so fortitude was an obvious choice. Now I didn't want to use my wire fleece forti because Necros look terrible in it. Could have made a forti archon, but I realized I can use my eth bug kraken shell merc forti as it only has 1 more str req than a colossus crossbow anyway. Durability loss was a concern, but during the entire questing the durability only went down from 25 to 17, so it was fine.

Any character using Andy's is a pain to equip- I used pamethyst Guillames till lvl 83, and Andy's gives 5 extra str but I didn't bother to respec that. Faith rogue is quite suited for these types of builds, she can shoot over bonewalls, provides an alternate type of damage via fire arrows, procs some tough revives,provides some dmg and AR and boosts attack speed to 11fpa even with a somewhat slow and bulky weapon.

I did use enchant sometimes but mostly the ITD on the weapon was good enough, though it noticeably slowed down against bosses and champions. My AR without enchant was about 5.1k. The fire damage from enchant adds on to explosive arrow splash, though it's not really relevant in this case.

Things that could fire through bonewalls - such as serpent's spears, gloams lightning, etc. were a problem. I kept a Tgods in my stash to swap on some times. Heavy PIs such as moon lords, death berserkers etc. were also difficult, I rerolled some areas because of them.

The ctc bonespears are of course incredibly cool, but they were only a small part of my damage. Still, this thing has ITD, knockback, great damage, not to be trifled with. Oh and a big bonus to demons, which I noticed that anything Demon was killed really fast.

So I finally got my second 1.11 character to Patriarch-status. IronHeart is a Hammerdin, built according to one of the guides here (I don't remember which one). I played him through almost the entire game at /players 8 (taking all quests, and clearing all areas). I switched to /players 1 for Nightmare Ancients, and switched to /players 1 permanently around midway through Hell Act V, after I remembered that Minotaurs and Black Souls were really annoying monsters!

With a couple of deaths thrown in for good measure, he was level 89 at the time of Baal's demise. For future characters, I will probably switch to /p1 already after Hell Act 2.. He was level 87 after that act, gaining very few levels, but very many near-death experiences, throughout acts 3, 4, and 5.

Nothing exciting except the Gul rune that dropped in Hell hellforge this afternoon. I spent less than 1 week on this character, he levelled up pretty fast once blessed hammer is available, nothing could stop him, Wailing Beasts didn't spawn in the temple. He could run Baal quite effectively, if I could manage to pump up his MF without losing too much damage and resists, I might use him to enter the MFO (also given that I had the time to play through the MFO).

Hmm, okay.

Played on players 8 throughout Normal and Nightmare with MFing gear. No major issues anywhere, especially not with the bosses. As for Hell, I used players 1 and it was still hard to survive; act bosses were no trouble at all, but even the Act 1 Rogue Archers have and are still troubling my hammerdin (same goes for all ranged attack enemies). Skipped through all areas of Act 5 as fast as I could due to the said ranged monsters. Had the most trouble freeing Anya (Gloam and Claw Viper like foes, used Vigor to outrun them). Out of all Baal's minions, only the Act 4 ones caused me trouble (conviction aura, fast moving). Baal was a piece of pie just like the other act bosses; he dropped utter crap though.

Had a nice time playing it. Pretty easy build to play and rather powerful in PvM. Only mob giving me trouble was Hell Lister. Just mowed through NML and NM in p8 and Hell in p5.

I died in Hell Act I to some archer cold enchanted multipleshot unique around 10 times (couldnt get my body back and -80 cold resist sucks). And to Lister in Hell. Around 12 times. Same story.

EDIT: Oh and the ancients went down fine. No rerolls neither in Nml NM or Hell. I had some trouble with the WW Ancient in Hell (killed my merc). Was a close call in Hell though. Ran out of potions and mana so I had to run around in Meditation Aura to kill the last guy.

He killed children and their mothers, never spared anyone. He always had Thalad with him on every journey he did. He forced his son to participate in the tyranny to learn him how to rule a country. Thalad hated his father for this and every day and every battle he prayed for someone to put an end to his own misery. But that day never came and he grew older.

When he was home in Hammerstone he sneaked away to the monastery whre he prayed with the munks. They knew about his feelings tho he never told them. One day, at the age of 14 the sneaked out as he always did. When he entered the monastery he was struck by an unpleasant feeling. There was no sounds from within the monastery, he could even hear his own breath. Slowly did he walk to the kitchen were Hans always cooked but when he entered there was no one there. He wondered if he had missed something but he couldnt remember the munks telling him that they would leave the castle. He went to the great hall and what he was about to see would change his destiny.

Death, all the munks lied dead in the hall. The floor was red of blood. He saw Hans who was pinned at the wall by a spear, a spear he recognized. The spear wore the mark of his father. He turned around and behind him he was, Theodor.

That night Thalad wasn't able to sleep. He's body hurted and he could barely walk. His father had put him in the tortue chamber and left him there to pay for his crime. In his cell Thalad swore an oath to never become like his father. He sat in the cell a few days with only water as food. When he was released he was called up to the great hall of the castle. He had still wounds all over his body and one of his ribs were broken. Yet did stand. His mother was terrified and cried as soon as she saw him. She looked at her husband and then back at Thalad.

Suddenly she run towards Thalad and embraced him. She stared at Thedor with fear in her eyes. Would he try to kill his own son?, his only heir?. She couldnt bare the thought of this and sent Thalad back to his room.

He rested there for 5 days and 5 nights. When the 6th day came he fled the castle. He never wanted to go back there, never. He entered the monastery and the great hall within. All the monks were still there and the palce smelled death. He walked over to Hans and looked at his chest. The necklace "Seraph's Hymn" was still hanging around the neck.

He removed the necklace but when he tried to wear it a voice said:

my master Hans has died
with my powers you survived
you are in debt to me
we shall travel over the sea
you have a big pain to bear
i'll help you if you me wear

He put the necklace on his own neck hand walked out the monastery. After a while he saw big waves and masses of water, the sea. He wlaked the shore until he found a boat which seemed to have been abandoned for years.

He sailed out the sea with no clue where he should sail. He sailed and sailed, day and night, night and day. A few days after he saw land and then he heard the necklaces voice again.

When he reached land he saw a nature he would never had believed existed. There was a land with almost no trees. The terrain was green of grass and at some plcaes he could see yellow and pink flowers. He walked further into the land. After a few days of wildness he entered a camp. The people there looked tired and he could feel that something was wrong.

He walked in until he entered a campfire. Beseide that there was a woman. She wore a purple robe. He walked to her to say hello but before he could say anything she put her finger on his mouth.
- schh, beleh ahiluad young paladin
- Paladin? I'm no...
- schhh, you have come from a land of terror and misery
- yes, but I'm don't think I'm....
- schh, belive, that's all you have to do

Thalad didnt knew what to do. He just stood there speechless. THen the woman took something from inside her robe. It looked like a weapon. The thing glowed.
- You are the Paladin of Hammerstone, the son of Theodor.
- He's just a lousy!...

- schh, I know why you have come. It was foretold a long time ago. You are the savior of this land. The moment you choosed to wear that necklace (she pointed at his necklace) you were choosen to bear the weight of the world. From now on you'll answer to me. I'm Akara the high priestess and a very good friend to Hans who I gave this necklace. Since he's not here I expect he gave it to you.
- No he didn't, he was slain by my father.
- Oh dear, why have you brought this task to yourself then?
- I didn't but if it's a good way to pay for my sins I'll be at your command.

She held over the thing she had in her hand to him.

- This is HotO. I give it to you. Use it on your journey.
- Thank you, but what is it?
- This is the last weapon of the fallen god Trleah fog keth Khoa. No one really know his true name but if you can guess it this weapon will bring not only death to your enemies but also protect you. If you are the true master you'll be able to posses this only in a few hours.

Thalad took the weapon and then a voice spoke.

Akara looked at Thalad and then bcaked away.
- what did it do? what did it say?
- It said the name of the god is "HotO" and his weapon is called Heart of the Oak.

The weapon start to vibrate in his hand until he had to let it go. It flew up in the air where it stayed, shining like a star. Then it fell down in the hand of Thalad. Without knowing what he did he raised the weapon against the sky and scream "hammer of destiny, hammer of blessing". The weapon fired a hammer from the air. It circulated around Akara and Thalad before it faded away.
- Ahh, said Akara. You are truly the Paladin of Hammerstone. I will now give you your name, Thalad the Hammeridn of Hammerstone. Use this weapon and never foroget your destiny. Now go to sleep and tomorrow I'll give you your mission.

Thalad just layed down and started to sleep, he was very tired after the journey. The morning after he was awaken by Akara.
- I have come to give you your mission.

She told Thalad that he had to do a jopurney only the chosen can. First he had to rescue a elder, Deckard Cain who was taken away and was held custody.

The mission succeeded as all of the other missions Akara gave him. A month leter he was asked to travel away seek out the three evils which caused chaos and destruction in the land.
- This is your destiny cause only one will stand after the battle. Either you or them. It was them who made your father the one he is today. Kill them and bring peace to this land and to him. Go to Kurast and follow the trace from there.

Thalad traveled to Kurast with Deckard Cain who assisted him with knowledge and trained him with the hammer. In kurast they found Mephisto, a hideus monster almost impossible to kill. Thalad wasn't scared tho. He had the spirit of HotO with him and he could easy defeat Mephisto.

They traveled back to Akara who assigned him to a new mission. With the hlp of the Archangel Tyrael he were about to defeat the evil who none could stand up against, Diablo. The battle between Diablo and Thalad was a hard fight. Several times did Thalad have to retreat. He didnt knew how to defeat him until one day when he was learnt by Cain that he could concentrate on his hammer. If he did the hammers damage would be fatal to anyone who opposed it, even Diablo. Thalad once enetered the Sanctuary were Diablo was , aimed with the hammer and fired a hammer which hit diablo between the eyes. The beast fell and the ground shaked. THe sanctuary fell apart and Thalad was buried within the mass. He was later rescued by Cain and the Tyrael. He was unconscious for several weeks. When he finally woke up he wasn't able to move. He had broken many bones in his body and needed to be placed in the prayer-sanctum until he was recovered.

Yet a few weeks later he was fully recovered. Thalad and Cain went back to the camp were Akara gave him his final task. He had to defeat the last evil, Baal. To seek out Baal he had to travel to Harrogath and so he did.

In harrogath he was frozen out by the citizens.
- Why have you come. Do you think you can make any difference? You better go home boy we dont wanna clean up after you.

One day he did earn their trust tho. A few citizens had been captured and Thalad saw his chance to earn it, and he did. He killed monster, brought back it's head and was now a hero of the town. He finally got the help he needed to find Baal. However he was betrayed by one citizenm, Nihlatak. Nihlatak gave Baal the oppertunity to enter the world stone without being tested by the ancient protectors. So Thalad had to travel to the Arreat Summit and fight the ancients to prove himself to them. There was not a hard battle. Thalad swinged his hammer and only within a few seconds he had defeated the ancients. In the worldstone he had to go around in something that felt like a labyrinth but he did eventually find Baal. They fought with fire and magic. Baal was almost always able to dodge every hammer Thalad threw at him but after a few days fo pure battle he finally got in a clean hit on Baal and the last of the three prime evils falled.

A cheeserdin, almost finished too :) at level 80 i felt it was time to take down baal for the first time. This will be my goto character when one is overwhelmed by the sheer power that diablo can have over you... This character will make you feel invincible and strong again.

Like i said it is almost finished but i now have a char that i can safely run /p7 chaos with :) so that elusive enigma will eventually become more then a dream!

He died a few times, mostly because of carelessness, once because of FE (I think, full life ... bang ... dead).

Yes, a cheeser. He was started in the All Alone 3 tournament. The tournament rules forbade any interaction with NPCs: this meant no shopping, gambing, merc, and a few other things. With a block, a powerful attack and meditation, I thought I could push him through. But by the end of act 2, I realised that (a) waiting for meditation to work after every single monster kill wasn't my game and (b) without a tank I was doomed anyway.

After my last patriarch, I took stock of my pending characters and discovered I had as many as 20 (9 in normal which don't really count as they are barely startted, 7 in nightmare and 4 in hell) Anyway, 1 down, 19 to go :)

Ah, um, he's a cheeser. I'll keep this short. Hammer, Vigor, Blessed Aim and Concentration are maxed, with the few extra points in Holy Shield. One point in Redemption. 7k hammers, 2.2k defence, max block, max resists, 206 MF.

Gear: Spirit sword (34 FCR), Spirit Sacred Rondache (34 FCR, 44 res all base), Skin of the Viper Magi (Topaz), Tarnhelm (Topaz) -- couldn't find an extra Harley :), rare amulet (+2 combat skills, MF, cold res, str), Chance Guards, Arachnid Mesh, rare boots (FRW, FHR, MF, lightning res, fire res), Stone of Jordan, rare ring (FCR, dex, fire res, poison res), Gheed's, resist and mana and charms.

For someone who had 200+ MF through Hell, he found *nothing*. Best item find was a Duriel's Shell. Really scraping the bottom of the barrel, he is. A Gul from the forge sort of made up for it.

No deaths. Dumb power + block = dead meat. Once I became familiar with the hammer's starting point, it was easy to get them to hit the monsters even in narrow passages like the Maggot Lair.

Merc was holy freee/insight. Don't remember much more, except that he died often. His shot at glory came when we encountered a Magic Immune Wailing Doom boss in Sarina's room. He blew his chance: while he dispatched off the minions easily, he got pwned in a one-on-one with the boss and Lycus had to grab the book and flee.

That's it from me, I wanted to make a pat thread for him so he doesn't feel left out :) He should make a reasonable item finder. I'll try River of Flame / Chaos Sanctuary runs with him some day.

Nothing too exciting, but my fist single player patriarch. It took me quite a while to pat him. Not because he was boring, I just spent a lot of time mfing rather than advancing through the game, hence the high level. Normal was a little slow until I got Meditation, and once I had Redemption, it was a breeze. Nightmare flew by, as did hell until act 5. My low hammer damage slowed me down a bit, but I made up for it by hitting the 125 casting bp. Hell ancients were very easy. No need to reroll, but they cut down poor Haseen. Baal took a long time due to his incessant mana draining. Several near death experiences, but these were mostly due to me being less than careful (such as fighting frenzytaurs while amped), but not too many actual deaths.

Wow! I was impressed at the Hammerdin's power and beat the game a lot quicker than with my sorceresses. I even played on higher player settings most of the time. I did go back to p1 near the end though. Now the real challenge was learning how to aim the hammer. It just took a little practice. The Maggot Lair was really the only area that gave me problems. Not enough room for the hammers. I had to let my merc take care of this area for the most part. I used Charge to help him out a little. Little to no problems after this area in all difficulty levels. Oh yeah. Nightmare Hellforge gave me an UM rune. Normal and Hell gave me lower runes which was was a real let down.

Anyway, I really enjoyed this character. What next? Not sure yet. Maybe a Necromancer. Right now I'm just leveling up my last sorceress. What can I say? The sorceress is and always will be my favorite character. At least I'm now willing to try other classes. 😃

The story of HammerTime is short and uninteresting. He started out as a 1.07 HF rushee, who I rushed an extra act to the Hell Ancients, where the experience boosted him to level 48. From there I forwarded him to 1.12 and ran through Normal quickly to grab the important quests (Den, Radament, Golden Bird, Lam Essen's Tome, Izual, Shenk, Anya), and then the same in NM. Then I did NM Baal runs from level 48 to 70 or so, before running through Hell for the same quests. Now that Hell Baal is dead, his future will involve more Baal runs for leveling, and his final home will probably be.. more Baal runs.

...Okay, so he had some issues. But while he lacked the swordly sword skills of his teachers and peers, he did have the power to make hammers come out of midair. That had to be worth something, right? Over time, he learned that the more he concentrated, the more he practiced his aim, and the faster he could do stuff, the more his hammers hurt. And unlike the swordy swordisms he couldn't figure out, his hammers left nothing in their wake, as the gods did so bless him with a lack of Wailing Beasts. With hard work, convenient mercenaries, and the occasional pots of colored fluids, he battled his way through these so-called "Prime Evils" and laid some smack down all over the world of Sanctuary.

Not much to say. It was pretty simple once I got Blessed Hammer up and running well enough. Best item found was a Hone Sundan while doing some NM Meph runs. Honestly, he was less fun than the fishymancer once I got the hang of using the hammers, since other than the occational aura switching and spamming Holy Bolts on the merc to heal him in places with a lot of unleechables, there wasn't all that much to do with him. I'll probably still use him for running act bosses and countess, though, and use the fishy for pindle/pit.

By the way, a weird thing happened to me: I didn't get the big chest drop form the NM countess quest. I activated the quest, I got the quest completed swirly on my log after killing her, but the chest didn't open. Any idea why that happened? >_>

I'm also not too sure of what I want to do next. I've got a WW barb, FA/Strafe amazon, fire/summon druid, and Blizz/Ball sorc all sitting in normal A2. I'm also thinking of doing either a Talon/Fury assassin or a lightning trapper just to have played one of each character. As far as special gear for any of them, I have Hone Sundan, WWS, and Occy (should be obvious which is for who), but nothing too great outside of that. Any opinions?

Well, he was a creation of MP, in a group with barbs and pallies there isn't much to say.. we travelled through Normal and nightmare together.. no problems at any moment.. baal runs were fun though, just spamming hammers with my mercy's insight made it so I wouldn't have to bring mana pots.. There's not much to say about hell either, nothing gave me troubles except trying to get anya... which I'm putting off for now :p.. I also died once to a hell minion because well.. Cursed/Aura enchanted/Spectral hit lister hurt once I was amp'd... baal died in a matter of seconds with 75% CB on switch :D...

Yep, I've given into temptation and made a lamerdin. In 1.12 so I don't have to deal with pesky resistances. One of the easier characters I've played, and the first I've been able to go p8 the whole way (including the Ancients). Some parts of A4 and A5 in Hell got a little hairy, but by and large there was nothing too challenging. Which I believe is why so many people play lamerdins, and why they're called lamerdins.

Early on I used a standard twinking trick of Civerb's Cudgel (+1 max damage per level), along with 1pt Might aura. I switched over to Hammers permanently when my Prayer merc reached level 27 and could equip Insight. I actually maxed BH last after adding 2 points early. I maxed Concentration first because the merc benefits significantly from it. Goes to show how over-powered Hammers are I guess.

I kept the Prayer merc with Insight until the end of Nightmare, where I re-ran Baal to get to level 80 so I could equip Arachnid's. In the end I got to level 78 before deciding running one of the level 85 areas in Hell A1 would actually be quicker.

My gear selection was based aropund reaching the 125 FCR break-point. I re-equipped just after entering Hell, swapping Suicide Branch for Wizardspike. One less skill, but the resist boost freed up other slots nicely. And I don't have a HotO, nor the runes to make one. I also made the decision at the start to go for 75% block, hence the Eld socketed into HoZ instead of the usual PDiamond.

I had intended to re-equip the merc with more of a DR focus, but forgot to actually do it. Most of the time 26% Leech + Decrep was sufficient to keep him alive though.

One comment/question: how does anyone manage to run Baal efficiently at p8? Even with an over-powered Lamerdin, an extra strong Lister required multiple merc resurrects and a number of NDEs, and I actually died to Baal. Which actually reminded me why I have always hated BH: it isn't truly a ranged skill. To reliably hit anything, you have to stand next to it. Which presents a problem with Baal's stupid Ice Wedge of Doom. Which makes me think Teleport might be useful. Which makes me wonder why the hell I don't have Naj's Puzzler on switch instead of nothing. :crazyeyes:

Anyway, I created this character with the intention of being a Baal runner, so that is his future, after I finish with a couple of other big projects. Maybe one day he'll find a Jah, Ber, and Vex.

A shout out to Naga and Mareek for the Lion Branded charms and the Shako (because I had stupidly got rid of all my copies of the latter in 1.12).

Now on to more interesting things like Ladders, HC, Class sets, and Ice bows.

Edit: I didn't mention any finds because there weren't really any of note. Steel Shade was the best S/U found, and a Fal from the Hellforge was the best rune.

The Reaper's Toll

This was a very fun character to play. The aiming of the hammers took a little bit of practice, but once I realized where they were coming from it was easy. I played the entire game at /p8, only skipping areas in A5 Hell, because I wanted to finish the game.

As you can see, I had a little resistance problem, that I fixed with some SC's. If I'm going to be running Baal, any suggestions as to what I can do to keep damage up, and still get some resists somewhere, and some MF?

I must say, that Claw Vipers are the least fun moster I encountered. One hit, and I was knocked back. By the time hit recovery happened, BAM, I was hit, and knocked back again. I had to tele away, and regroup. I died twice to vipers in A3 temples. Total deaths = 4.

Next up? Well, this will be my Baal runner for a bit. My next project I think wil be that Frenzy Barb, getting him to Hell Baal, and then lots and lots of runs (see here).

Other than that, I'm not sure what I'll do next. I still don't have a mat/pat for Amazon, Druid, or Assassin. I've been thinking about a Frostmaiden, and have been keeping any cold charms I find. Maybe that will be the next one...:scratch:

The BO and concentration really helped Durga, and he only died a few times, mainly to gloams (see later)

Questing:

We got to level 15 together with a one point might aura, a rare eth bardiche for me and a topaz bow for him. At level 15 I gave him a 1.09 ravenclaw, and off we went, and by that I mean that he killed everything with HF, and I did my best impression of an act2 merc.

At level 29 I strapped on the usual caster gear, gave my merc an insight, and hammered on, nothing could stop us now, and with baal dead and a few runs completed, we were level 45.

I threw on the 6 skillers, got the other gear from Lionheart, and off we went; the ride went extremely smoothly, and before we knew it we were clearing out the real tomb, gaining three!! levels in the process. I hired Durga, and his HF aura gave me the safety I badly needed, as I had to wait until lvl57 to get HS. Mephisto laughed himself to death, and Diablo was dead, after the OKs made it clear that the Chaos Saunctuary was no place for mercs. The addition of the CtA made everything much easier, 75% block is so nice.

Act5 NM was easy, no gloams, just frenzytaurs, Baal's minions died a couple of times, and then I misclicked and we entered Hell mode..

SirLionheart was fine at p5, but Bowdin wasn't, and so the roles reversed, I was the all conquering hero, he was doing an impression of a fire golem. Andy was easy, cleansing flashed inbetween conc to keep the mercs alive.

Act2+3: I was the sole killer, hammering through everything with two exceptions: the maggot lair and the ruined temple. The lair was perfect for a piercing bowdin, and he cleared a path to the queen. The temple spawned Magic Immune (and BH immune) wailing beasts, he dealt with that champion pack while I wiped out Battlemaid Serina. The Durance was full of dolls however, but the Council/Meph were walkovers; then my D2 crashed as we entered act4, and we went through lots of dolls again.😠

Act4: my housemate was fed up, and told me he would do act5 with another character that could actually help me:rolleyes: The plains of desair spawned lots of gloams, and they came with delicious mods like cursed EF; however liberal use of cleansing and redemption, along with the P word (Potions) we found izzy and saved his soul.
Hephasto was easy, he spawned LE HolyShock Stoneskin. The CS was again a no-go area for mercs, but 800 mana and redeeming helped me kill diablo, and we entered act5. My D2 crashed again, but we were still in Harrogath phew

Act5: Bowdin was retired having claimed Pul from the Forge, and Elegost the LF/CS/Valk amazon joined me through hell at p5. We charged through Shenk and Eldritch, finding a 178/8 poison sc. Pushing we reached the crystaline passage, found the wp and went to find Anya, where she was guarded by gloams, in particular several double boss packs which had nasty mods (see NDE section later)

The glacial trail had pathetic skeletons, so I cranked it to p8. Everything in the GT was LI, but hammers, the mercs, and the valk soon lead us to the Tundra, with skeleton archers, imps, and death beserkers. The evil urn guarding the Ancients' Way dropped a 15resall/3str jewel, which my housemate kept.

The Ancients way itself had another easy roll, so p8 it was. I saw Elegost Charged Striking quill rats next to an evil urn, so I popped it, heard a GC drop, and ran into the spawned quill rat pack, which had backup from a ES blessed aim quill rat. After hammering those to death:

Me(thinking): cool a LB life skiller
Elegost: check this out *drop*
Me: *hits Alt* OMG

after giving it back, so he could S+E to guarantee it (my D2 has been playing up) he gave it back to me and we continued at p8, visiting the icy cellar before dropping to p1 for the ancients. They spawned nicely, with cursed, FE, LE, magic resistant being the only mods I remember

The WSK went at p7, with no bad rolls. The only notable mention goes to a 7MF sc which I wore immediately. The blow dart flayers in level 3 were no match for LF. Then came the throne, I dropped it to p1 just in case....

and I'm glad I did, it opened with a cursed gloam pack, with champ gloams on top. After hammering those seemingly several times, I spotted a black ball, and realised: unravellers! After hitting that guy I thought no way, and vigoured to the throne, which was home to 7 vampires and an unraveller:grin:

Went to p8 for the minion packs:
Colenzo's: cursed us, then died
Achmel's: cursed us, then died
Bartuc's: cursed us, cast hydras, then died
Ventar's: cursed us, took some life, died
Lister's:cursed us, took the merc to a sliver, took me to halfway, died

Baal was at p3, tele'd on top of my Kelpie Merc, stood still, and died, dropping the usual rubbish.

This was my first planned character, designed to dish out lots of damage, be able to take it, and to carry a useful amount of MF for MP purposes, and I think I've succeeded:

For a long time he was languishing (lvl 18) at the bottom of the character screen, unloved and unplayed. Then one night I joined a new characters MP game with Thyiad and Aitrus, only to find them already in A2. So I blew the cobwebs off him and, with a few hints on How to Aim Hammers for Dummies from my fellow MPers and quite a lot of twink gear, he made lvl 45 in one night. Since then, I have got into the build a bit more and actually quite enjoy playing him now.

Best Finds: Captain's GC in inventory, Barb Masteries skiller.

Retirement plans:
I have a 49% fire resist pair of Aldur's Advance sitting in my stash that will allow me to dump all the fire resist charms (Tearhaunch was used to get the lightning resist up to max - I don't need it now I have done Hell Anya). So I'm going to go running around Lower Kurast popping chests on P8, hoping to improve my very bad resistance charms collection, and maybe, just maybe, find some decent runes. If I find another Skullder's and Harlequin Crest I may add on some crushing blow equipment and do some Baal running.
