I remember stumbling upon these forums back in highschool, i had bought D2 in 2006 or so and never had the typical B.Net experience others usually have with the game, we had horrible internet when i was a kid so most online games were sluggish and i preferred to play alone anyways. Finding a forum that was dedicated to SP play was enlightening as i had no idea what i was doing and the game was a closed book to me. I remember getting excited about finding a Ward shield and you guys chuckling at me, but it was one of the most welcoming places i ever found on the internet. I never really stuck with the game as some of you did but i do remember that summer playing it fondly and still have the Christmas giveaway emails on my old hotmail account so i thank you all for the memories. Was beyond excited when someone on reddit told me these forums were still active, made a account ASAP and here we are.
Decided to make a Trapsin as i never really played them a ton and with the bug being fixed for traps messing with spawns i thought it be a fun time. Was not disappointed, takes some getting used to but was a good refresher to the game for me. I have to say its a little bit of a slow build at times to get the traps up but was pretty easy to get to hell, beyond that i died a bunch but my gear is awful and i didn't want to stay in NM any longer farming. I forgot how hard hell actually is, you guys who play lot of untwinked and HC characters have my respect!
That takes me to whats next, i doubt anyone caught the reference but Moonbiter is one of the Ten Who Were Taken from Glen Cook's Black Company novels. Im going to try and do a Mat/Pat for each of the ten and possibly one for the Lady and the Dominator. Thought it be fun to build up a new collection of characters and theme it a bit, but its been awhile since i read the books so i have a new copy of The Black Company sitting on the kitchen table and will start reading that later as i need a refresher. I want to see if there's anything i can build around that is in character and based in the fiction, but if not they were all powerful mages so im sure it will work out somehow . Started with Moonbiter because she was talked about very little in the books and is a blank page of sorts. Im thinking im going to do the least talked about ones first so i can twink the last ones out and go nuts with more interesting themed builds, this will take me awhile im guessing. For now im going to just do some more mfing on Moonbiter though!
