Mana Burn Fixed?

Dont know if its been fixed (some claim theres nothing to fix), but this certainly wasnt the dumbest question I've seen.
 
Some claiming there's nothing to fix are just dead wrong. I believe mana burn is only supposed to use up only a some multiple of the damage done to you in mana but now even the weakest mana burn minion can instantly use up all mana even on high mana chars. I'll have to find some normal difficulty mana burners to test this one, hope it is fixed.
 
Well my experience is that it only burns a certain amount of mana in normal and nightmare, but in hell, some fallen minion still burns all. The last part Im 100 on, but im actually not quite sure about nightmare.

Well, gloams & co have drain mana, but I believe that is bugged that it does damage instead.

Err... Talking about the boss pack mod mana burn or the normal monster ability mana burn?
Boss pack mod mana burn will drain all mana almost instantly, which is a bug as I have heard. Tested it and in nightmare difficulty let a fallen minion hit me once. 660 mana to 2 mana (mana regeneration kicked in).
The normal monster ability to burn mana seems also bugged, I don't take always damage done to mana from gloams and such which have mana burn as monsterspecific ability. Supposedly the mana burn is actually burned from health but don't know, those are still quite dangerous. :/
 
Ive not see the actual rule, but my understanding is that mana burn is only supose to do 4x damage to mana, so 100 points of damage would also do 400 points of mana burn. This has never been the case, because mana burn has always burned it all away. Im running a hammerden with base mana this ladder season, so as Ive gotten to nightmare and hell, there is no way for me to tell. Any hit from a mana burner would burn all my mana. But a couple of times in normal I had a little mana left after I got hit from a burner. It could be from a couple of other things, I do have some mana per kill and % damage to mana. My best guess (Ive had some time to think about it) is that I had some kills after the burn from hammers still floating around. I was hoping that people with a larger mana pools would know for sure.

The gloam type description of "drain's mana" only works with their melee attacks. Their lightning just does the regular damage. If they also spawn with mana burn their lightning will drain mana as well.

Oh. Didn't know that, yet it sounds great; Though every time I get it by those lightnings my mana shield drains my mana away anyway :D
 
Mana shield converts a certain amount of physical or elemental damage into lost mana at twice the damage that the monster did. Elemental damage is even deadlier against mana shield because mana shield is bugged in that elemental resistances do not boost it, eg. in hell your mana (energy) shield will suffer mana depletion as if the elemental attacks were at -100 resistance.

No Omikron, It's not -100. When damage is dealt to mana shield, its as if you had 0 resistances, not -100.
 
Moreover, it is *not* a bug. At least according to the Sorceress' forum's Mana shield explained -guide. It's just that mana shield takes the damage from monsters unmodified.
