Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Zhao is playing as he always done, getting a townie read on him though trying to be funny like sitro, doesn't suit you...

You know, when I read this I thought you meant you weren't going to make a role claim at all. Now I understand you were just going to restrict yourself to more common roles that are more understood. To think I trusted you as well.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Sorry for the triple post, I used the wrong quote and can't edit. This is the paragraph I was talking about:

Yet it happens time after time, like your mafia point system, quite a few members are following the dictator(that beeing you Sitro :p). Though i think you know this and want me to claim some elaborate role. I got news for you sunshine that's not going to happen.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Aman,

SiTro said:
1) If the mafia wanted to stop Soylentred from using her "role", and they know she isn't mafia, then they could just kill her. At least as effective, no?

2) Regarding the second paragraph, I'm not sure how the imprisonment of a player at this stage affects someone's chances to be mafia. Some posts above there was an argument that the mafia could prefer imprisoning a buddy to townie at this stage. Also, you shouldn't know that the role is restricted in that way. It'd suck to be killed on Night 1 and never say a word in the game. Still happens. End of the day this isn't an especially balanced game anyway, but it is a lot of fun.

1) The mafia were busy killing other people.

2) Suppose there are 4 mafia, and you are a townie; FBI person can't imprison him/herself. With 13 others alive, the probability that a given townie is mafia (from you perspective) is 4/13. If that given townie has been detained before, (s)he can't be the FBI person, therefore the chance (s)he is mafia is only 3/13. And of course there are limitations to that logic, I'm not saying there aren't.

The game isn't fair, but restricting the crooked det role makes it slightly less unfair. The role is pretty powerful anyways.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Unvote Orphan

Lynching Orphan wouldn't do us very much good in terms of information. I'm rethinking my vote.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

I'm inclined to trust Orphan for the moment. Sure, he hasn't made many posts compared to some, but what he has said has generally been well reasoned and not filler material. Also, if he's having trouble connecting then accusing him based on that is like accusing Aman of not contributing on Day 1. I'll wait until he posts again before judging.
Well he has 13 posts since his last in this thread... but *shrug* maybe you are right.

I'm going to have to call hax on this. How have you managed to read the votes I send via PM to Ray? (You didn't read anything else, did you? :hide:)

:shhh:
:fortuneteller: What happend to your handy mafia table Sitro....:lipsrsealed:

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

I listened to comments from Day 1. I'll probably post an update tomorrow morning (RL) as I don't think I'll be around much during the day tomorrow (game days finish at ~5pm, I finish work at 7pm), but after that I'll post the updated version at the start of each game day.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Hey guys, out of curiosity, what does waffled mean? Big post, lots of filler?

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Please bear in mind with my voting, I am primarily using it to get people to post at this stage (as well as see who jumps on the vote bandwagons)...

Spigot, my friend, you are still having trouble with this game. I lectured you last game on not calling for definitive information as it restricts action. Now I will lecture you that saying your voting for someone only to get them talking is no threat to them. "I'm going to vote you but I don't know if I intend to let it stick" doesn't sound threatening. Vote when you mean it and stick to your vote until something significant changes your mind. Waffeling when voting is a bad sign. :soapbox:

I think Soy is a townie. I thought she was a townie when Zhao was badgering her and still think that.

I think Aman is just playing his usual game and is likely also a townie.

I think Orphan doesn't say much and that doesn't mean he's a townie. I played the first round of Community Mafia and he did pretty much the same thing and won (as a mafia). Don't underestimate him.

I think SiTro posts too much sarchasm.

I think Hey got himself NK'd in a recent game for night posting and he stands a good chance of doing it again if he doesn't pay more attention. I also thought him suspicious before I started reading about others thinking him suspicious, but I can't prove that I was thinking what I thought so it really does me no good to say what I was thinking. And he spelled 'spelled' spelt when correcting someone else's spelling, which is freaking hilarious.

I like Erwwwd's style (or Errrrds'). Excessive parentheticals for the win!

I think reading through this whole post at one time will cause the reader to suffer the Doppler Effect, and it's been documented in SPF games 1, 2, 3, ... 4, .. 5, ... 6, ... yep; all of 'em.

I think I need to remember to blink more frequently. My eyes hurt.

I think I'll vote later. I also think some people won't like this post much. I'm also suprised I haven't come up in the conversation much today.

Preview Post edit: @Hey - waffle means change your mind. Like wishy-washy. Flippant.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Actually bob, I got Mod Killed because I edited :(. Thanks for telling me what Waffle means though :O.

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Bob, I am not saying that my single insignificant vote is going to make any difference to get someone to talk. If my vote doesn't get 'em going, maybe the next one, or the next...

My second reason for doing it seems to be something you missed, which is to view peoples reactions to it and see whether anyone instantly jumps aboard...

I do take your point about sticking to your guns though and jumping for ogogo may have been a bad move, I can't really see anything suspicious there. I'm going to bed now as feeling too tired to think, I'll try and have a good read-over tomorrow and come to some firm conclusions.

unvote: ogogo on ice

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

I took two things from spigots post. The importance of reactions, and that I believe in the significance of my vote.

Vote: Hey

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

The fact that Hey isn't attempting to defend himself, even after quite a few people have been voting for him, seems off to me. Also, I'm interested to see what Aman knows.

Vote: Hey

Re: Mafia: The Gangland Massacre

Ogogo, I havn't been defending myself because at this point in time it seems useless. I'm getting bandwagoned anyways.
