Re: Maß thursdaily
@Cyrax: Seriously??? He actually suggested that you bring your entire computer in to you r work?
I wish i was kidding, but no. He seriously suggested that.
@Coju: Thanks for the offer. I won't have to take you up on that as i talked to tech support again today as i went home early so i'd be in time for that.
The problem couldn't be found over the phone (everybody who saw that coming raise their hands *Cyrax raises hand*). However because of the things that didn't work they came to the conclusion that my motherboard and the part that connects to the powersupply need to be replaced. So far so good.
Having established that, it was time to make an appointment to fix it. That's were the trouble began. They could come by to fix it on monday. However they couldn't name a time or even give an indication of one. I just had to be home the entire day. Yeah right, like i can just decide on a fridayevening that i won't show up for work on monday.
He: well we can make an appointment for a different day.
Me: i work fulltime i can't just take an entire day off. I'm usually home by 16:30 so maybe we could make say the repairman comes by between that and 18:00 (which apparently is the time they stop working).
He: No, no i can't do that. I don't control his schedule so i can only plan on which day he can come by.
Me: But that way i can never make an appointment as i work fulltime.
He: Can't you just take a day off?
Me: I can't. We're already behind so i can't take an entire day off. Maybe a few hours or half a day, but not a full day.
He: No sorry, we can't do that.
Me: Is it maybe possible to come on a saturday.
He: No.
Me: I'm running out of options here. Would it be ok if i take the pc to a place where they repair pc's and send you guys the bill?
He: Hell no. If you do that we won't pay for it AND your warranty no longer applies.
Me: Why not? In a repairshop i assume that people work there that know what they're doing.
He: <insert vague answer on why it cannot be done>. Maybe you can bring it to your parents or friends?
Me: My parents live 135km away (i didn't even mention the fact that they are on vacation so even if they lived right next to me it wouldn't make a difference). Maybe i could ask someone, but i doubt they'll be home for a full day. I assume they'll have to work too.
I'm not gonna write the rest of the conversation but in short there came a part of going forth and back to get some opening from their side as 1) i don't like to bother other people with my trouble 2) i really felt their customerservice should be better. I mean, come on. If you have a regular job you're screwed. 3) I don't have many people i could ask as both my neighbours aren't home, i don't know many people around here and as i mentioned earlier i assume most of them are in the same position as me and cannot stay at home for an entire day.
In the end it didn't help me any. So now i have to see if some people i barely know are willing to help me out and by some miracle also are home for a full day.
And just to top it off he also noticed it was passed 17:00 now so i couldn't make an appointment for monday anymore as they cannot be reached anymore until then. If i'm lucky enough i can make an appointment for tuesday, but it all depends on whether i can find somebody. If i can't, who knows. My next vacation is in december. And at work i've got a very busy period for at least the next 4 of 5 weeks so taking a day off before that will be hard.
At the end of the conversation he asks if i have any other questions or comments. Well i didn't have anymore questions, but there was one thing i wanted to say and that is that i'll never ever buy anything from them ever again.
It took me everything i had to not start yelling and cursing at him. Only thing that kept me from doing that is that a) he try to help and b) it's probably not his fault, but a stupid company policy that kept him from being able to help me (apparently in this day and age you get punished for having a fulltime job).
After hanging up i did hit something. Had to refrain myself from doing it more then once because i feared i'd break my hand and i'm pretty sure my pc-warranty doesn't cover any medical costs caused by frustration on their behalf. Now i'm totally pissed off and my weekend is totally ruined even before it began (i had planned to be behind the pc both for fun and for work). Only thing that may slightly improve my mood is if i can actually find someone to help me with the repairman.
I guess i'll see if the library is still open so i can stock up on some books. Maybe that'll help me shorten this weekend a bit. I wish i could just sleep through the whole thing.
