low lvl item fund

alright, its been a while since i've checked in here. sorry. its because of summer. i lost my LAN connection. and i seem to have misplaced my LOD disk (although i still have the cd key...and the cd key from the last LOD disk i broke... this is really annoying).

but i just looked at this and feel motivated to FINALLY rewrite the initial post. because lets face it, this is too long. it was too long by the 3rd page. because i put it off this long, it will take me a few days (possibly into the wkend) to weed through all 12 pages of posts to get a coherent first post together.

and with the new ladder season, well, this has just gone from complicated to somewhere between Einstein's theory of relativity and an explanation on the difference between fusion and fission as told from the perspective a quark.

anywho...a list of changes to be made:

-update info in post
-rewrite post
-add list of accounts including realm, hc vs sc, and whether they are donating or recieving.
-update the list of ppl who are trusted (found out who still pays attention to this)
-update the methods of contacting
-clear up a few of the abbreviations i use
-add a msg that says "please read this post and the last page of posts before posting. everything in the middle just takes too long to read."

the reason i post this is because i want to be sure i didn't miss anything. if i left anything out, yell at me.

that and i realize now (well, i realized it months ago, i'm finally admitting it) that i need more help with this. and i don't mean help with the items. i mean i need help with the administrative stuff: doing the leg work with the mules, burning in chars, making sure accounts/chars don't get deleted, etc. especially with the new season.
 
lol you sound like an engineer, or at least a physics student (relativity wasn't too bad, granted i dont know the background math, but i know what the formula means. Fission fussion, i get... quarks they're like really small charges right? wow i'm a nerd. yes i'm going into engineering next year.)

ANYWAY

Maybe you should get someone to handle the accounts on each gateway?

oh by the way, i'm non-ladder. since it looks like this item fund idea is temprorarily out of commision, anyone have any free stuff the WOULD have donated that they would like to send my way? anything for a low lvl starting sorc woudl be useful.

sub atomic particles like protons and neutrons are the key to fusion. thats the differenc between an atomic reaction (fusion/fission) and a chemical one.

uhh... basicaly you get a really big atom, like uranium, it splits into two smaller ones and it creates energy.

or you get two small ones... like hydrogen, your mush them together, and try and get the protons to stick, to FUSE into helium, which also releases alot of energy.

crap. i'm such a nerd.

now i'm off to go do other nerdy things, like play diablo, lol.
 
What realeses more energy fusion or fission ?

im not sure if this is true or not, but i don't think they got fusion to work right yet. atleast, its suppose to produce more energy, but so far it hasn't worked. fission is used in atom bombs. i could have the two mixed up.

quarks are the sub-atomic particles that make up the electrons, neutrons, and protons. i threw this in because i don't think quarks do anything in iether reaction, so its just more words to use and it sounds cooler.

i'm a sophmore engineering student (electrical engineer/computer science dual degree). (yes, i find writing a program to calculate one million factorial fun. and yes i've tried to write a 5 line program that would reset my entire RAM to zeros. it failed.)

iguelmay: if you are non-ladder, i can help you out. all the stuff from last ladder season is now non-ladder, so USEAST is pretty set there.

i tried to get a few ppl on each gateway. the problem is that doing the work to keep items flowing in and out and doing the bookkeeping on it just takes a lot of time. i think 30 minutes per day or a few hrs a wk would be a good amount of time to spend doing this. but that is a lot.

i've gathered a few items for my meteorb sorc, but i'm still really lacking. i could really use a sigon shield, and a tarnhelm (not sure how much those are worht these days) and a weapon of some sort. I can start donating back into the fund once this character gets really strong.

What if we ran the item fund just as a thread? one for each gateway. maybe one for ladder and non-ladder. people could request free items (without whining and bickering) and others could post what items they could give.

and yeah, its RvB. "Get it off! Get it off!"
 
Actually, nuclear fusion has been working quite fantastically on earth since as early as the 1950's. It's just not controlled very well and only useful for blowing up rather large bits of the earth. Fission occurs in Atom bombs, yes, and fusion is what makes their bigger, nastier cousin, the Hydrogen bomb go.

I think they recently began to break even in controlled fusion reactions in the lab.
 
I know! go watch spiderman 2. doctorc octupus tries to control fusion (but messes up, then turns evil.)

Sorry again about the trading mix up on the WWS bow/Arkane Valor trade. It was the first time I had played after a 2 and a half week Vacation and I had no idea that the Ladder was over and that my chars were worthless Non Ladder. I had no intention of pulling a mind game on you. Oh well, I always wanted to play a Sorc, now I have the ability to start one :)

No worries! I'm just glad to hear that you didn't have to spend your vacation twiddling your thumbs waiting for the ladder to reset after the announcement! That would've really sucked!
 
I am starting my first meteorb sorc today, as they sound fun. I could use some low starter gear (cathan's staff would be great). I play USwest Ladder and should be on *Legionofscales, but I am doing a non-ladder run through and deleting anything I don't need so I may edit on a different acount.

my meteorb sorc is progressing now... but i've run into a snag... resistances.... i'm getting ravaged in act 4, theres too much lightning. I can deal with fire, but over all my res's suck.

Is socketing lidless with a diamond a good idea?

No longer in need of cathan's staff, but I could use a grim shield with 2 sockets (in hopes of rune wording it once I get some), and I could use some parts of angelics (mainly need another ring and the amulet, but I would not mind the sword). Also, this is for my first MF sorc EVER, so once I get some items of my own I would like to donate, but as of yet the best item I have found is my sorcs manald heal :scratch:

Starting a ladder (U.S. West) meteorb sorc. She's at lvl 9, and has horrible gear. Could someone tell me if there's anything useful hanging around?

hey,

ive just started a blizzard sorc that i will entirely dedicate to mfing, shes currently lvl 36 or so and doesnt have any decent gear... is there anything in the bank like frostburns, 2 sok armor so i can make stealth, or even a lidless wall?

im uswest ladder soft-core
