low lvl item fund

I just got scammed and lost all of my stuff :rant:. I can't believe i have only been playing for a month and a half and i already got scammed. Im starting to lose my faith in the diablo community. Anyway, can anyone spare me some crappy meteorb sorc stuff? I literally have nothing :cheesy:.

Confused about getting in contact ingame

Well, I've spent a few hours reading the whole ten pages of threads here. Then I couldn't recall specifically how to contact, or be notified by, a moderator while online ingame on US West. So I refound Mathil's list, only to see that it didn't even show any moderator for that area. I probably missed something, but those 10 pages are looooong!

So...I'm confused. :scratch:

I want to make a new character: Meteorb sorc, US West, ladder, softcore.

But first I have to empty & delete one of my current fowlups :cheesy: (which are all US West nonladder softcore) to free up room for a new one. That will take a while to figure out what to keep, sell or donate (all those decisions! :eek: ).

But once done, I'll need to know how to get what I've decided to donate to the right place. So, what's the procedure?

Do you give me a moderator's account name so I can add it to my Friend's List?

Or do you add my account name to your Friend's List? Or what?

I can't recall exactly what I could be donating, but I take it you are accepting at least things like a couple handsful of perfect gems & just about any low-level charms (which I would think just about any noobie would enjoy having).

Once I have the room, I'm hoping, for once, to get a character right with the new ladder Meteorb sorc I'll make. Even tho I've been playing Diablo 2 for a good 2 yrs, I've always made bad builds. In part, that's because I've been too ignorant to figure out a good build on my own. Also because I wasn't in the habit of finding Diablo sites with build tips. Also because I've never gone to the trouble of doing any trading. The highest level rune I've ever seen is a Mal, which I only recently found myself. A friend did drop a couple of SoJ's into my pixilated hand a few months ago, but when she did, I didn't even know what an SoJ was! :lol:

And from reading the guide on the Meteorb sorc, it's pretty apparent that I need both better equipment and some of those runes that can help me make some better stuff.

So...I've decided to make a ladder character so that I can at least begin to transmute runes & maybe have a few of the higher ones before ladder season is over.

But first...to make space so I can make her. What do I need to do to make some donations?

Never mind on the donation. I was too eager to get my Meteorob ladder sorc going, so when a Christian friend showed up last night, I gave her all the stuff I had on that mule I had to delete in order to make the new sorc. She constantly helps out newbies, so it all went to a good cause. She's the same one who gave me those 2 SoJ's I had mentioned.

So...I made my sorc (DesAire) and my friend helped me get Cain before she left. Got DesAire up to lvl 9 before quitting. Just using the cheap stuff that I've found so far, so I'd still be interested in seeing what the donation fund can help me with.

Which means, as mentioned in my previous message, I still need to find out how to meet someone.

well, i don't remember what the original post says, i need to update it, but i've been busy and lazy. the two don't mix well. in short, my computer is finally back online.

but desrat: there are a number of ways to contact it. Jackson is the admin for west. im on east. i believe soepgroente is the one on europe. you are on west so i wouldn't bother soep, but if you can find me or jackson online, msg us. my accounts are *mathil and *thesaint. i dont' know what jacksons are, but you can pm him. the account itself is named *dii_noob_fund01 . i like to check all the realms every once in a while. there is also a list i have going of ppl that have left thier acc names here. so far its about 25-40 per realm. i can add you to that, but herein lies the problem with the last method: the friends list maxes out at 25 ppl, so it becomes a balancing act of who is on and who is off. blah blah blah... ppl slip through the cracks so its not a great way.

um, i have instant messanging sn's posted here as well. i can't think of any other way to contact us, but if there are any ideas that are so simple i forgot, try them or speak up if they are different.

Hi I came back to d2 in 1.10 left in 1.09 lost all my items cause account got jacked and i didnt log in a couple of them for some months because main one got jacked... i know my fault but i am making a mf sorc so any items would be appreciated. thank you.

I think the biggest problem with all this contacting stuff is that the information is spread all over the place in this thread and requires one to read its entirety to know what the latest contact info is. And if you've read it all, and then decide "Hey, I like this idea", but don't recall where the latest info is for your specific area & character type (I'm not gonna mention the name "desrat" here :D ), do you realize how long it can take to go back thru all 250 or so messages here? :eek:

I'm sure you've noticed that additional people constantly are asking how to contact the moderator for their Realm/ladder/nonladder/softcore/hardcore. So I'd say it's a common problem. Here's an idea.

Consolidate all the moderator contact info into one message, and sticky it, or, if possible, make it the first message (or constantly the last message? Is that possible?) in this thread. If it's made into a separate thread to be stickied, & there's concern about getting too many stickys, I think just stickying the moderator info would be adequate (of course, including a short description of what it's all about). And its message could include a link to this thread if people want more info about how the donation fund came into being. Now that it's in existence, what we need is quick access to the contact info instead. As long as it's kept up-to-date here, that's all we really need now.

And be sure to be clear about it all. For instance, in each Realm, which core & whether it's ladder or nonladder that stuff is available for. And if you mention "pm" (which I think means "private message"), be sure to make clear whether you're talking about pming in Diablo or in AOL Instant Message (AIM) or here, because otherwise it may not be very clear to newbies (whom this donation fund is for, afterall) or others who may not be so on-the-ball (I won't mention the name "desrat" here :D ).

Okay, the part of my brain that's in my typing fingers (which isn't much) is getting weary, so... on to play Diablo! <jump jump>

desrat: ya, the length of the thread has become a huge issue. and yes, if you read through i've probably answered 3 questions 10 times. I need to re-write the original post to do everything you said and i've been lazy about that, so i have no room to complain about answering the questions multiple times.

my current plan is to spend the next couple nights on the accs when i can be and find time before the weekend comes and ends to re-write the post.

heh, i didnt' even realize the different meanings of pm. ya, i was refering to on the forum private messages. i think the lingo i used for the AIM/MSN/YAHOO was simply msging on <insert IM provider here> and in game msgs was also just msging. All will have to be made clear.

I've just moved to USEast HC ladder from Europe. Since I don't know anyone there yet I would like to ask you for a little help. I have a barb lvl 64 wearing this stuff (all selfound): Cathan's armor, Irathas helm, Ancient pledge, 30mf boots, magic jewellery,...etc. I realised that it wasn't that smart to start with an item dependant class - he isn't able to survive in NM :(. So I'll try once again with sorc and prolly find a better gear for others.

If you could provide me with any starter/mid game items for sorc (or barb - if it's not sorc only fund) I would be really grateful. Anything helps. Please respond.

Hey all, I've been checking everywhere for one of these, and I can't seem to get one. No replies on the trade channels in forum or in game. I'm lookin for a Raven Claw, the unique long bow to get my enchantress started.

Anyway, I'm back from a 1.09 hiatus and thanx to anyone who can reply and hook me up, that'd be great, I can offer a few pgems or like ral runes or somethin for it. Anyway, thanx again, have a good one.

one thing that will have to go along with this is bypassing the fund in some cases. ie: if someone has a spare raven claw on us west (tsigtsag forgot the realm), msg him and hook him up. this was done a few times, more notably with ASIA 1 and 2 ladder. some ppl offered to donate from them but bc less ppl who play there visit this site, there isn't a need to make the account there.

anyways, we have added a member to the group of trusted ppl who have the password. *aasbo is on USWEST non-ladder. we already have jackson (whose acc i don't know) on west, this will double the chance of someone being online when someone needs help.
 
Ya thanx Mathil. I couldn't get around to updating that, I couldn't find the edit button, and then my work comps have a tendency of losing my logged in status. But ya, thanx again, to everyone for setting this up, I'm hopin I can get that, and then have some decisions made so I can really kick the char into full swing. But ya, I'm USWest, Ladder, so thanx and have fun all.

Newbie (ish)

Recently returned from a long hiatus, having trouble adjusting to v1.10 (Though I do think it's much better). I am trying to make a magic find meteorb sorceress and any equipment (Either magic-find or for levelling up) would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm starting my friend, who is just getting into diablo with a concentrate axe barbarian, so any equipment for him would be great too.
