Ok, I'm finally updating scores again. I've decided for certain that I'm not restarting. Good luck to all remaining. As for another round, I don't know if I'll run it again, but if someone else wants to do so, have at.

Lupin is making good progress through act 2, although if he were there at the usual Act 2 NM level of 50, even with the same skill set and items, he would be flying through with a much nicer %hit. As is it's hovering around 40%. Maggot lair was a bit tricky. I got luck though in that there were mostly insect swarms on the first two levels, and rabies worked pretty well on them, even at lvl 3. Claw Viper temple wasn't too bad. On level two I saw fangskin to the bottom right, so I ran around the other way and to the altar before any monster could beat me up too badly. Palace was uneventful. Arcane sanctuary was a pain. In addition, had I not choosen the correct path last I would have had two quests and a wp at 1 lvl lower. C'est la vie.

I know I can't save skill points, but I realized that there was nothing in the rules that prevented me from reading the book of skill (or whatever it's called that Raddy drops) when I wanted, so I held it in the stash until lvl 30. As such, at lvl 30 I had another skill roll. I was hoping for Grizzly or Fury, but I rolled a lycanthropy (third time). Of course, I can't be disappointed with that. I also then popped the book of skill, and at lvl 31 spent my third point on lycanthropy. Not quite lvl 32, but I rolled in advance for when I get there, so that I don't forget what I'm working on. Managed to get Fury :clap: Of course I still need to find some mana leech. And 4 rerolls left. Hopefully Dury won't bury me. I'm going to try and beat him this week.

Took Leopold out again this weekend.

Managed to get past Diablo and onto Anya in Act V, but it is getting VERY tricky. Being under level 30 is meaning the chances to hit anything are dire and I don't have enough life to sustain a heavy barrage. Diablo took about 30 trips to town, and every boss or champion is now needing some very serious work. Madmaxxam, you have my deepest respect for getting so far before hitting level 30. :worship: I think I'm going to have to do some cheesy Bloody Foothills runs to level up some before I even THINK about taking on the Ancients and Baal.

Well this weekend I managed to finish act IV and V on nightmare and start on Hell.

I left my piece of paper with all the levels at home so I will update that tomorrow.

I did however find two nice pieces of equipment. Hexfire (+3 Fire skills is nice) and The LIdless wall.

Hell is proving incredibly tough. Managed to collect the cold plains waypoint and kill bloodraven and the Den of evil. But speed has really dropped off.

Thanks. It really hasn't been a cakewalk at all. Being a were-druid really helps, because at lvl 33 now I'm able to have about 950 life. I have some tanks (although at such a low level they die often, I find myself recasting dire wolves a lot, and my merc isn't so solid either). Also, being able to run bishbosh about 300 times really helped in terms of items. Don't think I would have been able to grind through act 2 without the stuff I found from him.

The main thing is patience though. Fighting Dury took me something like 20 trips to town, and that's with 10% crushing blow. Finding his chamber in the real tomb took me about 2 hours. I also had 2 or 3 NDE's in there, and used a few full Rej pots: the tomb had mummys, beetles, and Vampires (quite a nasty combo.)

I've also had some good luck, demonstrated by this near perfect drop from Dury that actually has me thinking about getting 10 levels before I do much more:

:clap: If that had been spawned ethereal... well then I'd only use it against bosses. Attack speed isn't great, but now I can try to get gloves with IAS and stop worrying about CB on them. Even if I hadn't rolled Fury this would have given me lvl 3, which is enough. I'm thinking I'll socket it with an SHAEL or an IAS jewel, I'll see what lvl 43 brings me. And I doubt I'll try to take meph before I can use this... but we'll see.
 
Well, this will be the last update for Kaosmaul the Druid. I decided to do a quick countess run this morning looking for a Lum, and I ran into a pack of Extra Strong, FE, CE archers. 3 shots later and I had "Your Deeds of valour will be remembered" on my screen. Damn

The problem I now have is that I enjoyed playing the volcano tossing druid so much that I need to go and plan one properly and see if I can take it to Guardian. Damn these tournaments for making me interested in diablo 2 again. I was just starting to have a life :lol:

Took Leopold through the Halls and defeated Nilly with no problems. Then on to the Ancients and...bugger...can't even kill one of them before my merc pegs it and they're all on top of me. :rant:

Used every one of my big purples, so am now in a bit of a bind. I think it's going to be more cheesy Shenk and Eldritch runs to level to at least 35 so that I can wear the Hsarus' belt (only 2 lines of potions - with Arctic Binding - is not enough). Maybe I'll do some Kurast as well so that my merc can level quicker.

@Those of you that beat the Ancients at a really low level. How on earth did you do it??

I'm still playing... it's just going pretty slowly right now. Very busy with real life and whatnot. I've been alternating between playing the tankazon tourny and the random tourny... 1 act at a time each. So as soon as I'm done with Act 1 NM there I'm going to start going through act 3 NM with Lupin. Probably expect an update from me in about a week... unless time magically materializes this weekend.

After levelling my moron up to 25 in Lower Kurast, and Leopold to 35 with Shenk and Eldritch runs, I took on the Ancients again.

Hurrah! :clap: No problems this time - only one big purple and about 9 large reds used. Then it was on to Baal. Again, no major problems - just a couple of moron resurrections and about 15 TPs.

So...Leopold has made Destroyer!! :winner: He is only my 5th HC char to get through Normal and so this was my main goal of the tourney. All progress from here on in is a major bonus.

All that's remaining before I go on to NM is the question of whether I need to level the moron a little more first. Will check the levelling guide to see if she'll get any exp from Act I NM at lvl 29.

Hmm, a little. Think I'll get her to 32 with more Kurast runs before I move on.

One little thing of note. I tried to make a Steel runeword in a grey Rune Scepter with +1 Vengeance. Added the runes (Tir, El) and...nothing. Thought it worked in Maces. Anyone care to help me out?

Am using the scepter anyway as the Vengeance helps a LOT with extra damage.

Scepeters are not maces, even if they comes under the barb mace mastery.
Scepters are weapon type Scepters - Blunt Weapons - Melee Weapons -Weapons.

Thanks Hrus, I guessed it had to be something like that. Just when I thought I was getting to know this game quite well, I go and prove to myself that I'm still a noob! :lol:

Took Leopold out again today. After testing /p8 Lower Kurast and Shenk/Eldritch runs to see which would be best, I settled on the latter. 5 runs later and my moron is at lvl 32, I'm at 38, and it's time to enter Nightmare.

Had the idea that I'd run through the Blood Moor and do the Den quest if it turned up on the route. So, on with the Holy Freeze aura (boy do I love it when everything chasing you turns blue and can't keep up!). To the first junction, and what do we have? Ah yes, it's the Den. So down we go.

Battling through the first few monsters I was thinking. 'Crumbs, this is much harder than I expected. Everything's taking an age to kill. What on earth will Coldcrow be like? Ho hum, Leopold's quest will probably end here. I should have put on a few more levels in Normal.'

On I continued until I had got through almost the whole Den. Then I realised...still on expletive deleted players 8!! :cheesy: The noob strikes again!

Once I was back to /p1 it unsurprisingly went a lot smoother. Now Blood Raven is no more and Cain has been rescued. Boy am I relieved I noticed the mistake!

Yes, it's another update from me!

Andy is no more, and I've got through much of Act II. Decided to run through the desert areas to get the WPs and leave the Maggot Lair for later. Did do the Viper Temple though in order to open up Arcane Sanctuary. It is at that WP that I stopped for the night.

If it proves relatively straightforward, I'll run Arcane for another few levels as I'd rather get further that be at a lower level.

So, all rerolls are done (think I'm the first to do that without restarting) and I now trust to luck. The last reroll was because I got Defiance. That was, I think, the 6th time it came up (and was rerolled every time :rant: ) so no doubt it will crop up again on a regular basis.
