You have missed my characters name change. Since my sorc died I rerolled a druid, Adric.

Next update.
Made it to the Inner Cloister.

Waypoint 5 - Level 11
Waypoint 6 - Level 12
Quest 5 - Level 12
Waypoint 7 - Level 13

Since I got Werebear and have been using it I decided to try and stay away from casting skills that I can't use in Wereform. Naturally as soon as I hit 13 I rolled one. So reroll and darn got another one. Finally 3rd roll I got summon spirit wolf which should be good.

Current status Level 13
Poison Creeper - 3
Raven - 3
Summon Spirit Wolf - 1
Werebear - 3
Firestorm -3 (Early skill when I had no idea what would happen)

Total rerolls used - 6

Randie Killed the Countess, got the black marsh, and then ran through to the Outer cloister just before leveling up. Then I went back to clear out the Pit, and on Pit lvl 2 got a cold enchanted archer unique, and _lots_ of minions.
And Randie Died.
Dang, bloody HC. Well... My 3 rerolls of ressurection got me another 'sin so Randie_v2 was born. Skill claw mastery, again... hmmm this is looking familiar. Maybe this time I won't get 5 experience shrines-- whenever I get one I have to take it... you never know when you'll be needing one and just can't get it.

Gather round, kids. Necrotron made some progress in Act II today! Finally got some Corpse Explosion skill points of my own (twice, actually) so I can get rid of that otherwise useless wand. For now, I've got to rely on my defiance merc and an increasingly useless clay golem to break in monster packs. Hope it lasts...

I found an Arctic Binding to match the Arctic Furs found earlier. This is a particularly nice matchup as it gives a huge defense bonus along with 40% magic find. Less fortunate was that in a game in which I'm trying to keep my levels down, what shows up in the sewers but three straight experience shrines. Also had a NDE on the viper altar, saved only by Bone Armor and frantic firing of Teeth from a hideous fate at the hands of charging vipers.

Act II:
Waypoints: 1 - lvl18, 2 - lvl 18, 3 - lvl19, 4 - lvl19, 5 - lvl20
Quests: Radament - lvl18, Tainted Sun - lvl20
Skills: Amp Damage=3, Bone Armor=3, Clay Golem=6, Teeth=3, Bone Wall=3, Corpse Explosion=3 (and 3 more on the way)
Rerolls remaining: 5

introducing; destoyer tourney

baal was a pain, my synergized lvl 3 volcano didnt really cut it but it was all i had to work with. I did a few meph runs searching for some items and found a reasonable dmg poleaxe with %chance to amp. Eventually i got to baal and i think the entire 20 minute fight it didnt go off once. oh well.

I'm looking forward to all the points available in nightmare. Resists are 75/75/50 partly thanks to a ral ort tal shield although i'm planning to phase that out for a sigons later, maybe

halls of pain - 31
frozen tundra - 31
ancients - 31
wsk 2 - 33

nilathak - 31
ancients - 32 to 33. I think this means 32
baal - 35

latest skill rolls, heart of the wolverine, kind of a nothing skill but i'm saving those rerolls

rerolls left - 9

Congratulations on Destroyer.

My progress.

Andariel down. She was quite a pain. Merc died twice and most of my summons. In the end I just kept using my partial rejuves to get me through. Dropped a few rares but nothing of use to me.

Waypoint 8 - Level 13
Quest 6 - Level 14

Currently haven't found anything of note.

I agree that last time the characters were very underpowered. The strength of a lvl 20 clvl1 skill goes away pretty quickly in Act IV normal. I was utterly amazed that max's "pseudo-fishy" (with no mastery at all :flip: ) made it to Hell. That sort of patience was insane. I think I almost wanted to die by the time I was in Arcane (where I died) since I felt like I was a useless add-on to a useless vine...this time I'm really going to go through. It's destroyer time!

I'll be joining, I'll roll up in a second, but yeah, I am amazed that my pseudo-fishy made it to hell. And that character sort of made me sick of fishy playing for quite a bit. A really good merc weapon, and a necro shield with + to amp, mastery, and decrep is how I did it. With plus skills it was at lvl 7 I think. I couldn't make it past the cold plains wp in hell, and act 5 NM took absolutely forever. Necro in this tournament is instant re-roll. Gonna assign classes by alphabetical order and roll a... 10. Damn 10 sided die, I was hoping for a 1-7.... guess a 10 means reroll (I'm too lazy to use an on-line one right now...) 8... my luck, once more... 4. Looks like another druid in this tourney. Rolling a 1-4 gave me a 2, which corresponded to werewolf, so I'll be starting a werewolf. Good luck everyone.

Edit: Ah, a name, that's important. I'll name him Lupin. Sounds wolfish. I'll probably play this a bit instead of TWD for a nice break, but I don't think I'll make fast progress in general this time around. (Last time I rushed ahead really fast, and then got permanently stuck at the hell cold plains wp. I also quickly realized that leveling my pseudo fishy wouldn't do too well, so I just waited, and AE almost caught me. I think he would have passed me with more time.) Let's see if I can repeat a strong performance with a druid.

Wow :) So with base life (55) and stamina (89) you managed to outmanuever Bishibosh, Rakanishu, Treehead Woodfist, and all of the monsters in between (most notably the Underground Passage). You not ony didn't get killed, you didn't kill enough monsters to gain even one level. Again, wow. How did you avoid all of the ranged monsters?

I essentially did the same just now. You know, a kind of test the theory type thing. Unfortunately, after getting the black marsh wp I hit a poison shrine, which bumped me to level 2, details below:

Act 1 Quests: Cain - lvl 1
WPS: Cold, Stony, Dark, Marsh - lvl 1, Outer - lvl 2

Obviously through stony field was easy enough. I was also lucky enough to look under a rock and find a scepter with +2 prayer... shopping time  I looked at my druids stat screen and noticed something: 50% block rate with base dexterity. I got gloves and boots, each with +1 dex, and that was up to 70% with 22 dex. Very convenient for any archers in the underground passage. Also got some armor and a belt with +5 life. I then got 4 stamina pots, so I had a belt with 4 healing, and 4 stamina, and I kept tp on the right click. Stamina pots only need to be used every minute or two, because of the nice unlimited staminal period.

Underground passage wasn't bad, and also refreshingly short, blocked most things that came my way. Treehead was very close to the cave, so I got the scroll, and ran to the wp with company following me. Rescuing cain was easy, getting around rak, not as easy, but doable cause of high block rate. Back to dark woods, treehead wasn't on me, but one of his minions was, followed me to black marsh, got the marsh wp. After that, hit the poison shrine, and was sad to see my lvl jump to 2. The worst part of this was watching my block rate go from 70% to 35%. Getting outer isn't hard though.

Of course, I wouldn't trust the safety of running through the barracks or jail at lvl 1 or 2, especially with more and more elemental attacks, doorways to be blocked, more aggressive monsters, etc. Good enough for a quick ~700 points. Not that much, but everything potentially counts. Maybe I'll try the malus real quick before the den, tower, and andy.

Edit: Too dangerous... I'll wait.

I'm going to start playing in this tomorrow. I decided to sort things alphabetically and rolled a 6 so Paladin (Amazon, Assassin, Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin) and then I rolled a 5 so Smite (Might, Prayer, Resist Fire, Sacrifice, Smite). Never used Smite before so this should be very odd for me. Smee the Smiter will begin tomorrow.

Edit: Well I got a little excited and decided to start now. I wanted to run through the waypoints to lame up some early points but I nearly died trying to make it thought the Underground Passage. So I went back to the Blood Moor and started playing as usual. My second random skill was Sacrifice which helped with Bloodraven but wasn't something I was hoping for.
WPs : Cold Plains-1, Stony Field-1
Quests : Den of Evil-3, Bloodraven-6

3 points in each Sacrifice and Smite so far. No re-rolls used.

oak sage is teh uber andy tank, immune to phys and poison sure comes in handy. Andy was nowhere near as hard as i had feared, and she was kind enough to drop the unique war spear for my merc.

cold plains - 35
stony - 35
dark wood - 35
black marsh - 35
outer - 35
jail - 36
inner - 37
catacombs - 37

den - 35
br - 35
cain - 35
tower - 36
malus - 36
andy - 38

It's interesting trying to be intentionally low leveled.

In a set of scores that will make jiansonz cringe in horror (although, there are some that are lower :)):

WPs

Cold Plains - 1
Stony Field - 5
Dark Wood - 7
Black Marsh - 8
Outer Cloister - 8

Quests

Den of Evil - 3
Blood Raven - 4
Cain - 7
Countess - 9

Skills

Firestorm - 3
Poison Creeper - 3
Molten Boulder - 3

Total Rerolls: 1

I had to reroll my second skill because it came up as Werewolf. That wasn't going to happen. The PC is helping out a lot, keeping things distracted so I can storm them. Boulder is actually a lot of fun. I love rolling that fiery red rock towards my foes...

Well, the main reason I was able to live was because Paladins start with max block. Also, for the stamina issues, I walked most of the time unless there was a group of monsters I needed to outrun, which allowed me to block the ranged attacks. I had at least 10 NDEs while doing it, so I basically spammed potions. I also hit the chests and rocks when there weren't monsters nearby, which gave me some gold to stock up on potions. Also, it's really easy to get around by following the paths.
But anyway, it was time for WarriorofRandom to fight Andariel. Luckily, before the battle, I imbued this really nice scepter:
Wraith Knell
Scepter
One-Hand Damage: 7 to 23
Durability: 50 of 50
Required Strength: 25
Required Level: 12
Mace Class - Normal Attack Speed
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 16
Fingerprint: 0x8cfcd797
+3 to Energy
+21% Enhanced Damage
+93 to Attack Rating
+10 to Maximum Damage
+2 to Prayer (Paladin Only)
+1 to Defiance (Paladin Only)
+3 to Cleansing (Paladin Only)
195% Damage to Undead
+36 to Attack Rating against Undead
With cleansing, I was pretty much able to sacrifice Andy to death. Sacrifice is an absolutely crazy skill. Andy died in a little less than a minute on P1. Then I did the same thing as in Act 1 for the first 5 waypoints in Act 2.
Also, I put the last point into Resist Fire and my next skill is Might.
Quest Levels: Andariel Level 12
Waypoint Levels: Sewers-12, DH-12 Halls-12 FO-12 LC-12

I'd like to join in. Went to Random.org and got a 3 = Barbarian.
Set up first skill points as follows: Bash 1, Sword M 2, Axe M 3, Mace M 4, Shout 5, Find Potion 6. Got a 2, so first 3 pts into Sword Mastery.

Missed most of the weekend, but I'll be splitting time with my other chars anyway.
Wish me luck, and good luck to all.

Edit: Almost forgot, the Barb's name will be Kelvin.

Upon the death of Randomizer; here is what he has in his stash:

Biggin's Bonnet
Eld & Tal Rune
Axe of Fechmar
Miscellaneous Gems

Is this stash considered part of the winnings now, or are they too low to be of any value? If I need to send them to someone, let me know.

Since I had not used any rerolls, am I correct that I can reroll a new character and try again?

It was sure weird to play, and just a bummer that the lightning was just too much when you have 10 beetles around.

:uhhuh:
I have no problem with that in this tourney. After all, it´s a part of it. Just as long as I don´t have to skip anything...

I am not really interested in the scores or trying to be low level. I´m only interested in how far I can go under the rules in this tourney.

Small update from Mort the Paladin:

Quest: Forgotten Tower @ level 17
Waypoint: Black Marsh @ level 15
New skill: Resist Lightning
Number of rerolls remaining: still 6
Cool find last session: Arctic Furs

I thought about rerolling the last skill triplet, but I didn´t. There are sooo many bad choices right now for where skill points can go, so the odds of getting something better are not nice. Resist Lightning was definately not the worst that could happen, mainly for the following reasons:

* There is a decent chance that I´ll get Vengeace in the foreseeable future, as both the prerequisites (Sacrifice & Zeal) are opened up. Three points in Resist Lightning gives a good boost to Vengeance.

* A melee merc tanking an LE boss (or beetle packs) LOVES this aura.

Yes, you can start over. That costs 3 rerolls.

Good Luck if you try again!
(and be careful with those beetles...)

So, I went ahead and finished Act III. I really have to say that a paladin in HC is much easier than any other char I have tried. (This is of course probably due to the fact that both of my Pat's are paladin's.)

So, Act III

WP--Spider Forest lvl 20, Great Marsh lvl 21, Flayer Jungle lvl 21, Lower Kurast lvl 21, Kurast Bazaar lvl 21, Upper Kurast lvl 21, Travincal lvl 21, Durance of Hate lvl 22

Quests -- The Golden Bird lvl 20, Lam Esan's Tome lvl 21, The Blackened Temple lvl 22, Khalim's Will lvl 22, Mephisto lvl 22.

so, on to Act IV. My last skill roll turned up to be another 3 in Holy Bolt. I'm still not too crazy about this, but then it might help killing OK's in the Chaos Sanctuary.

I have still only used 3 rerolls all together.

Randie_jr (didn't know it won't let you enter #) got Tiger strike, then fists o fire, and then psyic hammer, ready for a new one soon.
She's made it almost as far as her mama, but Goltar wants the computer now so she stopped when she hit the OC. Started to run ahead to wp, not used to doing that unless I have to quite for a bit, kinda weird. Oh yeah, got Death Hands or whatever that set glove is to put into stash.

1 Cold Plns wp
3 DoE
4 Killed BR
7 Stoney Fld wp
8 Darkwood wp
8 Saved Cain
11 Blk marsh wp
11 Killed Countess
12 Outer Cloister
6 rerolls tot
