Hahahahahahah, you have to be seriously smoking something to believe that B-net is currently "equal footing".

No, but feel free to get banned from bnet.Lord Chaos said:Bzzt wrong, I cannot waiver the law by accepting any document, end of story...Blizzard could not kill you just because they wrote "You give us permission to kill you" in their EULA.
And you feel that atma violates the eula how?*shrugs*...last I checked the singleplayer forum linked to ATMA.
Opening a file on your hardrive is hardly hacking. Blizzard has never banned anyone for reading an mpq, in fact they encourage single player mods and made the game easier to mod in 1.10. But Blizz has banned for maphack. You do the math. Its you who is misreading it, this INCLUDES hacking for game information, code, etc.
I sure have, look I even quoted it in my post...Yes, have you?
I've never seen someone get banned from single player. Also single player is clearly not under the part of the eula that talks about use of the battle.net network. It is under the part about not installing more than one copy and so on.Single player is as much under the EULA as battlenet is...try again.
lol and why would that be?Lord Chaos said:you will propably get banned on battlenet long before I would.

How the game is meant to be played is subjective. It seems to me that mf runs are intended, or else why would there be so much mf equipment? If rushing was not meant to happen at all then why are all quests not compulsory?Wolv said:How many actually PLAY the game? PvP aside, how many actually take a new char and play thru the way it was intended?
Would you rather spend months doing Baal runs to get to lvl 99 or 5 minutes using a (hypothetical) 3rd party program? The choice is yours...Wolv said:Is rushing chars illegal? No. Most peeps rush chars. Would you rather spend 45 minutes sitting around for a rush to finish, or 2 hrs? The choice is yours...
I would much rather actually walk to the throne, but it's generally impossible because most people are unwilling to go down to lvl 2, knowing that everyone else is waiting in town because what happens on the rare occasions that the party does actually venture forth together is that it will quickly break up as one or two who have maphack rush ahead to the stairs, with the result that thw party is strung out, allowing isolated members to be picked off by hordes of monsters, then no one is willing or able to retrieve the corpses and eveyone leaves, minus their exp and gold.Wolv said:I've done countless baal runs to lvl. How many peeps want the sorc to tele quickly to throne? MH facilitates that, and benefits everyone. I'm sure anyone involved in baal runs for lvling wont begrudge the mh sorc for time saved.
Way to take a quote out of its context. No, none of us think that bnet is currently a place where people are on equal footing, thanks to you and others who think like you. However, that was the whole point of a closed bnet, and we are more than a little annoyed that people can't respect that.Lord Chaos said:Hahahahahahah, you have to be seriously smoking something to believe that B-net is currently "equal footing".Dredd said:was to create a cheat-free environment where everyone is on equal footing.
A case where mh had no influence on me would be the case where you installed and played it on your own computer, single player mode. For all I care, you're welcome to do that. But why would you insist on crowding in on the place where people are supposed to be able to play the game as it was meant to be with others who enjoy the same thing? Bnet is a community, and what you do there will influence the rest of us.Lord Chaos said:Ok, let me ask you this question, which I don't think you can even answer...if I were to use maphack right now...how exactly would that be "not fair to you" when it has nada influence on your game.
Not enough, but many do.Wolv said:How many actually PLAY the game? PvP aside, how many actually take a new char and play thru the way it was intended?
Yes, and the choice is: do you want to cheat or not.Wolv said:The vast majority of players do this: MF, trade, rush new chars so they can wear what they MF/traded for. Maphack is an efficient means to an end.
Is rushing chars illegal? No. Most peeps rush chars. Would you rather spend 45 minutes sitting around for a rush to finish, or 2 hrs? The choice is yours...
We have no doubts whatsoever that maphack is an advantage to use - why else would anybody use it! However, you get that advantage by cheating. If you feel it's too much for you to look for the stairs to Durance 3 or in any other way think it's not worth the effort to play the game the way it's meant to be, just stop playing on closed bnet.Wolv said:I've actually used the 'check other persons gear' feature to help facilitate trades w/ them. If they seem poorly geared and I have items I know would suit them better, I let them know.

The flaw lies in the game itself. There is nothing dynamic about it EXCEPT for mfing. Thats why its so popular. And thats why you find players using mh. Few peeps enjoy finding out the door to Durance lvl 3 was in that last unchecked corner.
Lord Gargoyle said:why is it allowed in open b-net to cheat? only because its easier there or what?

Thats my point RIGHT THERE! You see, that is NOT a game flaw... thats just how the designers intended it. However, everyone thinks they're ENTITLED to quickly run that area - for whatever reason - so they justifying cheating with that thought. You are supposed to take your time to do this... it keeps the economy balanced by preventing item floods. Cheat in open battle.net because, to answer an earlier question, OPEN is there for you to cheat/test on, thats why they made it.The flaw lies in the game itself. PLEASE explain this to me. $350? Unless you bought about 4 copies of it there is no way it should cost you that much? Ebay?Oh yes, so sorry for spending 350+ dollars on this game, logging in thousands of hours of gameplay and actually expect to actually try out a game feature...I so humbly appologize[/dripping sarcasm]
