Item Fund Neglected?

I recall posting to the Item Fund, requesting a few items to help me start my ladder experience. I waited for quite sometime and never recieved any information. I am just wondering if anyone is still running this? If not, I can and would like to take up the cause. I can dedicate about 2 hours to distributing items. Some information would be great.

Bnet isn't really suited for things like this.

I often find some lowish items that I would have liked, if they had dropped when I started this ladder season. But the only thing I do is sell them to Charsi, or leave them right on spot --- posting to a thread and checking back all the time, keeping it around wasting precious space isn't worth it, and there is no account where I can just log in, drop the thing, and continue with my usual buisness.

Such an account would be "difficult" to create, anyway...

I am not concerned about how difficult it would be. I would love to help low level characters. I fail to see why someone would sell decent items when they could assist someone for atleast a few levels. Last night, I gave away over 6 mules worth of items.. because I felt like it. I want to be able to do this on a regular basis.

I could have it so I run the accounts and I have a designated time where people meet me online to give me the items they would like to donate. Another time where people can meet me in game/chat room and request items. I don't think this sounds too difficult. Even if it is, nothing is simple in life anyways.
 
The people who used to run the Item Forum Fund are not posting all that often. Maybe a change of management is needed?
 
Perhaps you are right, Mad Mantis. I would like to volunteer myself to head up this project. I will post further information later today. I have opened an email account(with gmail) and will ask that people contact me there with items they have/need.

The email accounts are: [email protected] To offer items
[email protected] To request items

The account will be: lord_jefe10 as this account already has several high level non-ladder characters. Ladder equipement will be held under:
lord_jefe11

As a note: This is for UsEast.
 
The reason the originators of forum fund mules aren't posting is that there was a tremendous lack of donations after the initial push and pretty much all the gear was distributed.

We left it to ppl to arrange their own meeting times and giveaways... if you search back through the posts you should find it somewhere. It was around the time Gvandale quit when we did that.

Smasher... don't take this as flaming but I think you can find plenty of takers if you post your items on fund thread and have ppl msg you instead of doing it here.

I would gladly post it under the original thread if it were not for the fact that its flooded by requests. I want to start something outside of the forum. That is why I started 2 email accounts. I will have a regular meeting time as well. That way people that are say mfing at 7pm know that at 7:30 I will be on, so they hold onto a few of their finds.

I didn't take it as flaming, so no worries. I am looking for advice and even criticism.

You should make some fund accounts...since you want this duty...and post your account as well...also for which realms these are for 2.

Since I mf alot...I'll message you if your on east ladder about getting some of the stuff for the fund.

The main problem in the past with the item fund(which IS suppose to be for the people the post in our Necro forum)...is that people from other forums that don't post here at all...will come in a post just in the item thread wanting/begging for items...then come back when they want more.

I will help out in getting some stuff...but don't want to be part of the fetching process just to get items for others when I'm busy do mf runs and such.

Thanks a lot, HoS. I understand what you mean, that's why I'm going to identify people that post to the Necro forum primarily. I don't expect you to fetch items for people when they ask them. I will not make myself a lap dog either, that is why there will be a designated time, several times a week wher e people can meet me and get items. I will not sacrifice my play time all together.

I will start perming a ladder account. THe nonladder account is already established, with several high level, hell characters.

HoS, what is your account name? I will add you tomorrow and we can get together, :drink: , and perm some mules :D lol. I do however have to take care of some 'social' stuff, seeing as how it is Friday. I will be around arond 8pm eastern. Just PM your account name, if you don't mind.

I play USWest, Ladder, non-hardcore, so I could probably donate a few things I find....

Hey Alfheim, wanna get something started? Cuz im finden some non ladder, non hc items, although i just started not to long ago xP 75 frenzy barb and 70 bone nec(whom is in dire need of trang sheild).

Sadly, TheAlfheim, I will not be taking care of UsWest. Therefore, I suggest a joint effort. You take care of UsWest players, I'll take care of UsEast. Sound alright?

I was thinking of actually building/maintaining a site that would list all incoming and outgoing items... something to consider for later.

I could happily oversee such a thing. The only problem is that my play time is being reduced at the moment (university commitments). But if other people express an interest in joining (both admin and donating), I'd be keen.

So, how about it people? Anyone else want to join in on a USWest version? (both ladder and non)

PLanet i wouldnt mind helping out... i dont have a descent mf but i do runs just for exp.... mind u i have lil to no room for stuff ill make sure i make some for items others might want.. im in the progress of lvling to 75 now.. by then i should be sitting preaty, or well enought to find gear for others...

Planet Smasher, if you need any extra mules, I have something like three or four mule accounts with all permed mules. They also have some random items in them, nothing godly though. The accounts are USEast NL.

Of the mules that I currently use, there are tons of items I can donate. Let me know if you're interested.
 
Withdraw me from this...I've had it with a majority of the bs going around here...from know-it-alls to the one's that have a bad case of HuA...I'm gonna do this on my own...and actually help the one's who are really deserving of my help.
