Is paying someone to level your char a bad thing?

Last ladder season, you could buy a leveling service for runes. ie. Ist rune for a lv 75 char.

I'd figure, if you've made 30 chars already and you're wealthy (D2 wise) as heck , paying someone to make chars isn't a bad thing.

I could think of better things to do than go through the agony of leveling a char between 11-25. Such as watch NBA or download porn.

10-15 = tristram
15-18 = sewers
18-22 = arcane sanctuary
22-27 = flayer jungle + councils

Pretty easy and simple, it may take about an hour or two if you are REALLY fast :)

Um... then why play this game in the first place? Sure it might take some time, but that's the fun of it - to watch your character become more powerful.

What is the point of playing? if your going to Pay somone to make your characters. that is so ******** your to lazy to play video games?!?! what the heck is wrong with gamers these days, when you wanna be lazy you play video games. NOT BE TO LAZY TO PLAY THE VIDEO GAME!!

It's not exactly what I would call a bad thing, but it's nevertheless silly. What's the point of playing then?

i do think let someone else make a char from lvl 1 for you can be good, if you intend only to play pvp.
else, i think that paying someone to get you a lvl (like from 95 to 96) can be quite some relief at high lvls.

i perform lvl services myself, and apart from the payment, you also get a view of different character types, which gives me an idea of chars i will make in the future (while, if you don't like the char, you still have the payment, and are not forced to just use the char as a mule)

regards, Tene

people actually pay for that?? wow im gonna start levelling peoples characters :D :D

I go through phases of enjoying playing through the game and just being impatient so i might start doing this when im more patient and need the runes.

I dont think it's morally wrong to pay someone to level but it does beg the question "why are you playing in the first place?"

If it's a pvp character then i sort of understand but even so i prefer to level my own characters.

I dont think you are alowed to trade for this sort of service on the forums here though.

Edit: Wow i just agreed with Snowy. This is the dawn of a new era :D

I play my game, they play theirs. I won't be surprise if someone ebay a few ist, pay someone to lvl their characters, download (insert boss name here) bot to do the mfing, or ebay more items to equip characters others lvl for them. Brag about their insane dmg and feel rich, but never solo hell baal, not even once....

you could play singleplayer and download some characters. then you could pretend you payed someone to level them up for you. you'd be in the same place if you actually did it online, except it would take less time.

but seriously it is rather dumb for someone else to level your own characters up for you. defeats the purpose of the game.

Next step would be hiring a guy playing the game while you're doing something else.
Well, depends on what you're gonna do with the chars. I can understand if pure pvp:ers don't wanna bother with pvm/leveling.

I've met people in many dueling games that have paid cold hard cash (as in, real money) to have a character leveled to 80 with certain specifications. They don't know how to play that character for crap, but I've seen it.

No problem with it at all. I haven't done it, but I've been giving it some thought. There are some chars I make for pvm, some for pvp. My pvm chars I will always make (and lvl up) myself, but for people who're only interested in high-lvl pvp, it makes perfect sense.

I've never done it myself, I do it the old-fashioned way. However, time = money, if they value their time more than money, to them it makes perfect sense. There is no right or wrong on this, just a matter of opinion. A little tolerance goes a long way.
