IK WW barb... how good is it really?

IK WW barb... how good is it really?

this will be my second ladder char... i currently have an 85 blizz sorc and have done some mfing but her sole purpose was to be my mfer... now im looking at making a godly char. i have chosen the IK WW barb. i plan on using the cold's guide which is stikied... i have already got all the gear and am basicly looking for n e one who has already made one to tell me how good it is... if u tell me they suck i will cry cuz i had to bust my balls to get all IK lol.
but yea also wondering if they were n e good at mfing? and whats the best merc choice for them.
 
An IK Barb is very good. My IK Barb in Ladder season 1 did around 4k-5k damage I think. It's more than capable of holding its own in Hell. Best mercenary for IK Barb would be NM Act 2 Offensive (Might). As for MFing, I wouldn't MF with an IK Barb. Better let your level 85 Blizz sorc take care of that.

As for the 10 points you put in dexterity, don't worry about it. Not worth starting over.
 
For question 1: IK barbs are not bad barbs whatsoever, but they're definately not "godly" characters. They are by far the most affordable barbs to build in terms of effectiveness, though you can definately make more powerful barbs.

For question 2: Well, that depends on how anal you are. If it were me, I'd restart, just because I'm a perfectionist and I know that once I got up around level 90 or so, it'd really start irritating me. If you have any inclination whatsoever to rebuild, it's usually better to go ahead and do so, rather than keep working on a character that will perpetually grate your nerves.

If it doesn't bother you, however, then don't worry about it :)

10 dex = 10 vit = 40 life = 80-90 life after BO. Since u have no shield, these dex points are not helping you at all except some weak AR.

Besides, like Hal said, if u are going into all the effort into making this your uber character, make it perfect :) No need to have a scratch on that Lamborghini!
 
well i just found my 2 echoing +3 to warcries to keep on switch and they have a low dext requirement of like 45.... should i give him that 45? or willl my items take careof that for me?

ur IK glove will give u 20 dex already. I assume u'll use a ravenfrost too, which is another 15 dex at least. That's +35 right there.
 
ok i am convinced... he must be started over. u have a point if he is going to be an Uber char. then he might as well be build like one. its a shame tho lol.... what did u all think of colds guide? is it a good guide to follow for an IK WW barb?
 
this might be a noobish question but i was wondering. one of the echoing spears lowers req.'s 30%. will that affect my gear even when they are on switch.

No, -req% only lower the requirements of the item on which they appear.
 
i have an IK WW barb ^^ but damn, its not going to be anywhere near 'Godly' at all...but its definitely ownage in terms of killing power to gear price ratio.

1 pt wonders (berserk, iron skin, etc).
 
damn... found my second Echoing +3 to WC's and that has a dext req. of 65... do i look for another w/ lower dext or shell out for puttin some pts into dext?


... i hope i didnt start over for nuthin lol
 
I used an IK barb last ladder, lvl 89 when the ladder reset...He was the toughest char I have made by far, but I am not rich...rushed many chars, only bad in chaos sanct, destroyed everything else(and he had 110 dex, a mistake I won't make again)

WW IK barb is the best, cheapest combo in the game...by far...
 
You can easily shop up some echoers with little to no dex requirements on them, it just takes a bit of time. Better to do that than to waste points in dex that you can't get back.

i'll keep shopping then.... no pts into dext for me. if n e one happens to find one with a low dext req while shopping. if you would be so kind as to pick it up for me i would appreciate it, id even pay u back! double even! lol. if ya find one the names

Currently L90 IK barb on ladder now, and I can tell you that it is one tough cookie.

Sure, I don't do 15k per hit, but do I really care?

Perhaps with some super amazing rune worded gear, I could pull off the same res and def that I have with IK, but until then(would have to remake with polearm mastery probably)... I'm content with 4-6k(with merc) dmg due to the fact that not very much can scratch me. Big bad Gloam type mobs? Pff. Any act boss? Pff.
