IK belt or String of Ears?

So, I've got a lvl 72 Zealot, not much to shout about. Uses IK belt but just came across a String of Ears. Which to use? Resists top out (currently) at about 22 / 24 / 46, for Fire / Ice / Lightning, WITH the IK belt. So they're a bit naff.

Anyway, what think you?
 
Personally Id prefer to use the string of ears for a zealot.Damage reduced and life steal are nice mods to have for zealers. However looking at your resists Id have to say keep the ik belt...at least until you find something to give better overall resist.

Heh, chance would be a fine thing - MF hates me right now. Let me put it this way - my zealot is using an upped Fetid Sprinkler. However, he does have an upped near perfect Duriel's Shell, so I guess it's not all bad. Just goldfinding at the mo to gamble for that much needed Baranar's Star or Schaefer's Hammer.

I'm not too fussed - I'm a fairly casual player, so it doesn't bother me. I doubt I'll ever solo Hell or even SEE an Anni or Torch. Ho hum! ;0)

Slightly off-topic, but if you play US East I have an eth Schaffers you can have for free. It's useless right now, of course - but a Zod would make it a happy little hammer. I really don't bother trying to trade it, since I know I'd just get giggled at. :grin: So it's just sitting around on a mule. So if you want it...

Wow could you post a screenshot of that eth schaeffers because Ive always been under the impression that indestructible uniques cant spawn etheral unless the etheral mod is fixed as in shadow killer/unique battle cestus.

Hah! My luck is poor right now. Doing endless Shenk / Eldritch / Thresh runs (because you can't get money much quicker) for Gamble cash last night, got a unique Morning Star twice! Both times I thought "this is it! Baranar's!" and both times it was a Gods-forsaken Bloodrise! Grrr!:grrrr: :hang:

And you are right, you can't get an ethereal schaefers hammer, eth stone crusher on the other hand is possible.

Out of interest, and going slightly OT, does anyone know the ilvl on Baranar's and Schaefer's? Just so I know whether or not I'm wasting my time with all this gambling.

Yeah, I know. I'm an optimist, and my Zealot dies quickly. Lots. Need to do some trading, really - clear my mules out.

Question still stands, though.

The ilvl of baranars will be determined by the monster that drops it which will depend on the ones your killing when it drops :laugh: Ilvl = mlvl so if baal dropped baranars that baranars would be ilvl 99.

The more important factor for you to know is the treasure class that it drops from .Devil star belongs to tc 72 so any lvl 72 and up monster can drop baranars.Most monsters in hell could drop baranars excluding some of the superuniques.Qlvl/quality lvl is important also, your baranars star is qlvl 70 so all lvl72 and above monsters can still certainly drop it.

I thought gambling was ilvl + / - 5 of your clvl...? Am I mistaken? Going from what you said, a clvl 67 character could, potentially, gamble a BStar? :fortuneteller:
